Maybe the absolute best models are a couple of hundred bucks but you can get a basic one for $30 and a perfectly decent one like this for $75: https://a.co/d/09NPSWJN
I notice the coffee does not taste as good if you grind the whole bag. So I got myself the Cuisinart Supreme Grind Coffee Grinder. Currently on Amazon for $70. My dad has the same grinder and i attempted to make espresso with it, it can't go fine enough for espresso, maybe for a turbo shot though
I actually had this grinder for drip then started to get into espresso. There was a way that I was able to remove the hopper and modify it so that I could adjusted farther than intended. I was able to get enough adjustment out of it that it would grind fine enough for a pretty good shot. The main issue was, it was very hard to dial in. A very minor adjustment would result in a fairly drastic change in grind size. With the modification, you can get by temporarily. YMMV
I’m sure there are some fines in there too. Your grinder is creating particles all over the place in terms of size. This grinder is probably better suited for drip, not that it won’t make a muddy cup though.
I had this grinder for a bit before I realized it just isn’t right for espresso. I ended up going with a SHARDOR off Amazon and then sprang for the j-ultra. I hate saying “you need to spend money to get a good quality shot,” but in this case, spending $150-$200 on a good grinder is well worth it. Best of luck!
I had that exact grinder. Good for drip coffee, but nowhere close to being fine enough for espresso. I used a pressurized basket to get by until I bought a k4 hand grinder.
I have that grinder and it is not good for espresso unless you’re using a pressurized basket. I got a Kingrinder K6 and it’s been awesome. It’s a hand grinder but I don’t mind.
