The Cuisinart isn't bad at all for the price. Its the best cheapest one. If you are wanting to upgrade, unless your into super clean low body coffee I might stay away from the timemore. The fellow ode gen 2 is cheaper better built, better workflow and most people will enjoy the coffee from the fellow ode better. Hope this helps!
My lovely husband got me a Cuisinart automatic burr and grind machine almost 5 years ago, for my first Mother’s Day, and the grinder has just given up the ghost - just in time for Daylight Saving Time to end 😅. I drink a couple of cups of strong dark roast every morning, and also love the occasional latte or cappuccino when out, but would definitely drink them more often if I had a setup at home. My husband has offered to get me a new machine for my birthday/Christmas, and we are wondering if there’s a highly rated machine under $700 that can do all the things I want- built in grinder, good quality drip coffee, and so lattes and cappuccinos. I don’t like the pods because of all the trash they produce, but I am aware there are recyclable versions. Any suggestions? He was looking at a Ninja but the coffee expert video we watched on YouTube gave it a poor review for the drip coffee quality. Do I need to suck it up and make room for two machines on my kitchen counter?
For the love of God please dont get the cuisinart burr grinder ive just used it for the first time out of the box and is hands down the biggest pile of scrap ive ever seen
Agree. My $70 Cuisinart burr grinder is perfectly fine for coffee at home.
Yes burr grinder- I use cuisinart and happy with grind selection but wish it was a tru gravity pot and not blowing into side chamber
Cuisinart burr grinder is fine for brew
It is significantly better than a blade grinder. Like an order of magnitude better. And this is coming from a grinder snob who has more of his net worth in coffee grinders than in his second car
Espresso is way way less forgiving than brew. I mean I wouldn’t recommend fruity light roasts out of the cusinart but for most mediums it would produce some really good cups
I have a cuisinart burr grinder, and I have been doing that for quite a few years now, no issues with it at all.
Damn…that’s expensive…I’ll continue using my non conical burr grinder from Target even though I heard such grinders beat up the beans too much during the grinding process. If that’s even true.
Yes. I purchased several for the whole family last Christmas.
I mostly drip brew my coffee, but use a viv vigano kontessa occasionally. I switched from a $20 bosch rotary grinder i had been using since the 90s to a cheap Cuisinart burr grinder, on sale at Costco for $38 maybe 5 years ago. The burr grinder has maybe 16 settings, i tend to go for a medium setting for moka compared to very fine for Melita drip. For me, the difference between rotary and burr grinder is detectable but fairly slight, at least to me. Maybe a more expensive burr grinder is better, but i wouldn't know. To me, the biggest variable is the quality, freshness and how much you like that particular style of roast over what grinder you have, but that's just my opinion, man.
I used a cuisinart burr grinder for years with a moka pot and it was great. I want to say it’s closer to $55-60 on sale but it’s solid and lasted a really long time
