Good enough for brewing methods that need something on the coarser side, wouldn’t recommend for espresso or moka. I’ve been using the PureFresh Pro for 3 years now with my Breville Bambino and it hasn’t disappointed me yet, it gets me a consistent fine grind and great crema (this is dependent on a lot of factors din) but my only reservation is the burrs are ceramic (more prone to damage, no visible/obvious damage pa naman sakin - I always make sure walang bato talaga sa beans) and idk if serviceable siya anywhere in the Ph/spare parts are available. Tried the KG79 with an espresso machine na lower bar at my fiancée’s house, it made me miss my setup haha
It does not grind fine enough for espresso. I had to "hack" mine by opening it up and adjusting the burr. It was a risky operation but i managed to do it.
I’ve owned one and it’s only good for French Press. Then it broke agad. It’s not so good don’t buy it.
I got a De’longhi KG79 burr grinder from Amazon for less than £40 the other year and it’s been great.
If on a tight budget can recommend a cheap grinder which is the DeLonghi KG79. Honestly, its a bit clunky and messy but for the money i paid (£30 years ago) its been great (i did mod it to grind finer which is easy to do). You might be able to pick one up super cheap second hand. Could even tide you over while you wait to get a better one. Anyway been using it with my Bambino with great results.
Get the K6. KG79 is intended for use with the stock pressurized basket. It lacks the fine grained adjustments needed to dial in non-pressurized with a bottomless portafilter. If you insist on an electric grinder, increase your budget for Baratza ESP or DF54. Consider DeLonghi ECP series instead of Dedica. Many people prefer it to Dedica due to it having a boiler instead of thermoblock, for better temperature stability. It's also less expensive. You'll need a different portafilter for it as it has only 2 ears.
If you will never modify your Dedica to brew non-pressurized, then KG79 is OK, that is its intended use. But since you want to use a bottomless portafilter, the KG79 is not suitable. It won't be able to grind fine enough and it lacks the fine grained adjustments you will need to dial in on the bottomless. Either get the KG79 and stick to pressurized brewing, or get the bottomless with a better grinder. Trying to use a KG79 with a bottomless will be an exercise in frustration.
Ok naman siya kasi burr grinder and pwede pair sa mga pang bahay espresso machine. But if you have a higher budget, better to look for other grinders 🙂
That delonghi looks like it has ceramic burrs, which will gradually crap out throughout a year. Get a K6 and the burrs will outlive you. Wdt you can get for basically free, save a cork and get some 0.4mm acupuncture needles. For scale, get the cheapest one you can get that does 0.1g accuracy. I use a beurer k6 or whatever it's called.
One of my biggest regrets. Don’t buy it. Uneven grind. And it doesn’t grind fine enough.
The KG79 has false burrs - meaning the burrs are blunt so they don't cut ur beans into little pieces, they just crush them. So the result is uneven particle size, which is not good for espresso or pour overs. Also napakaingay my gosh hahahuhuhu. For electric grinders of comparable price, depends on what kind of coffee u want to make. For immersion brews and pour over, pwede na yung 600N and Lahome grinder (available online). Metal burrs, not bad particle size distribution, cheap, etc. etc. For espresso.......... Bili ka ng Timemore C3 ESP or Kingrinder K1 or 1zpresso Q2 Heptagonal tsaka drill hahahahaha. Or try mo humanap ng second hand na Baratza Encore or Breville Smart Grinder.
