Great value for espresso, but clogs and poor for pour-over.

I use a Eureka Atom. I bought it because of it's decently sized hopper, stepless infinite grind adjustment, noise reduction features, automatic grind timer, and of course, Eureka's reputation for making quality machines. I paid around $1000 for it if I remember correctly.
There are issues with the cheaper Eureka grinders like the Mignons/Specialita etc. The grind chamber isn't isolated from the electrics, where the circuit board and motor are housed. I have seen many posts and horror pics where when their Eureka failed, they took it apart completely, and there is more than 30 grams of old stale coffee all over the circuit board and electrics (probably the cause of the fail) a shocking amount. I don't know why Eureka hasn't addressed this and made the grind chamber sealed off from the electrics like other good grinders do. They have known about this problem for years with their grinders. I guess they just don't care because it takes about 5 years to be an issue, and they don't care at that point. I don't think this problem applies to their more expensive grinders like the Atom but it does for many in their range.
At the same time, the ergonomics of the Atom are just dreadful, despite being technically a better grinder. I tried to live with both for a few days and went with the Fiorenzato because of how much easier it is to dial in and clean. I didn't notice any noteworthy differences in retention and taste.
If a Eureka can be found in this price range get it!! 😎💪 The real deal
Idk, I have a Eureka and it’s not very loud, even with light roasts.
Nope. I will not be giving my money to them cos I think the move to a Chinese factory is an insult. I got a flat burr eureka hand made in Italy and it was cheaper and better
