I have the Atom 65 GBW and really love it. Very precise, quiet and grinds 18g in under 5 seconds. What’s not to like?
My coffee cart is under this budget. I use the Decent platform, which is the Ikea Bror cart. My grinder of choice is the Eureka Atom w65 grind-by-weight grinder, and I use the Decent "rinse and repeat" rinser, which is a fully self-contained pump driven rinser. To get under your $5,000 budget, you'll have to find a decent de1 or de1xl pre-owned. But you can regularly find those around the $3,000 price point. You can also just use any other dual boiler or heat exchanger espresso machine and it will work on this platform.
Most of the recommendation you have received so far are wrong, because their authors erroneously assume that you are "one of us", while you are clearly a normie. You don't need a single-dose grinder; instead, you need a grinder with a hopper and a GbW (**Grind by Weight**) function. Similarly, it is crucial, that your espresso machine is very automated. It must have automatic pre-infusion, and **volumetric** dosing. You don't need manual flow control, etc. \--- For example, espresso machines: Victoria Arduino Eagle One Prima, Sanremo YOU grinders: Mahlkönig E65S GbW, Eureka Atom W 65
I have a Eureka Atom W65 and would highly recommend it.
My sister had the df64, her specific one might have been a bad copy, but it was a piece of crap. She paid for the upgraded burrs, and that machine had to be readjusted basically every day to get a good shot, it was very frustrating She upgraded to the allground sense which is unbelievable, so good!!! Best grinder I’ve seen personally. We had the eureka mignon specialita at home, and today we’ve upgraded to the eureka Helios 65, which seems great as well, but doesn’t have grind by weight. If the budget is really not a problem, I would Look at the allground sense or eureka atom w65, as they are considered some of the best home grinders. Also there is a new mahlkonig e64 ws for around 1k which is supposed to be amazing There are much cheaper grinders that are phenomenal, but it seems like you want the best possible. I personally don’t love single dose that much, as I might be a little lazy 🤣
1zpresso J-Ultra was the first one (a gift). Eureka Atom W 65 now (also a gift). I had been dreaming of something with a hopper and GBW when I received it. Single dosing into jars for at least three drinks a day got old quick. I’m not a very particular espresso drinker and only make milk drinks but I love how fast and quiet it is FWIW.
