Great value for espresso, but clogs and poor for pour-over.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
I’ve got an atom w75 and a libra ap65 with black diamond Italian espresso burrs. The grinds are fluffier with the w75, and the screen interface is definitely nicer and more modern. But taste wise, I can’t really tell the difference between them with medium and dark roasts. I haven’t done light roasts with either yet. If you’re planning on doing more light roasts, I’d go with the ap65 and swap in the black diamond espresso specialty burrs, that way you can enjoy the light roasts more.
Because you can readily get the black diamond espresso specialty burrs in 65mm which is recommended for light roasts, so the Libra Ap 65. But if you want to burn more cash, get the w75 and the black diamond espresso specialty burrs in 75mm
I have first hand experience with both grinders. Just not with light roasts, since I prefer medium and dark roasts. My recommendation was based on the machines plus the ability to swap the burrs for your preference of lighter roasts. If not, it’s a fairly short list of GBW grinders that are suited for light roasts and in that price range which you should consider.
I do prefer the larger knob on the AP65, but the W75 also has markings to keep track as well. Granted, I'm not really making drastic changes on either one. I just make small adjustments every now and then.
I think so! Eurekas have been around for a long time and they’re built like tanks, but it’s true that they are not new, shiny, and trendy, and when people are talking about endgame grinders they rarely come up. I have a single dose Eureka Mignon Zero and I think it’s great, but if I had no budget at all I’m not sure what I would do.
Ha ha! but actually no, I think it’s ugly! Maybe the Lagom Casa....
I went down this rabbit hole recently myself. I posted about my quandary earlier at the following link which you might find enlightening. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LaMarzocco/comments/1pgiaxa/espresso\_grinder\_analysis\_paralysis\_constructive/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LaMarzocco/comments/1pgiaxa/espresso_grinder_analysis_paralysis_constructive/) My emphasis was on attaining GBW capability in a machine that was commercial grade even though it’s in my home. After lots of research and feedback from users here I bought the Eureka Atom W75 ($1850 in chrome), became disenchanted with the vibration, noise, difficulty of grind size adjustment, and build quality so I returned it ($220 restocking charge). And after further discussion with five technicians in my area who service these things, I ended up getting the Fiorenzato F64 Pro Sense ($2,300) I’m happy with that decision. Certainly overkill for the home but it has features that were important to me like ease of burr chamber access without loosing grind size adjustment, top class vibration isolation for the load cell sensor, etc. I was a bit concerned about it's size, but with the shorter hopper, I think it will be fine. Photo below - awaiting the delivery of a LM Mini R in silver grey finish next week that will replace the Rocket: https://preview.redd.it/x57yj3lge49g1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10487f1b54a12e68952a62839af8cb6351b24bfb If I were less focused on commercial robustness I might have waited for the new Mazzer Mini G which will be making introduction into North America in the next month. The AllGround Sense is another interesting choice but lacks true stepless grind adjustment. The E65W was another contender but I didn’t care for the esthetics and visual size statement. Happy to share more if you're interested.
I have the Atom W75 and really like it.
Eureka Atom W75 owner here. Love it. Rock solid, heavy, built like a tank, easily to dial in, keeps setting, super fast and quiet, super fluffly, almost never need to WDT at all, beautiful machine. Great taste. Not a single issue in the year that I've had it so far. Highly recommend.
Yup this is my vote too per my flair
I bought a lightly used Atom 75 about six weeks ago for $750. Very happy with speed and grind and noise levels. If I was buying new, I would get a 75W and take advantage of the grind by weight feature. The grinder I had almost almost almost settled on was the Weber EG one, so when I saw the Eureka come up for sale in my local area off of home barista, I jumped at the chance. It came with the single dose in attachment, but I put the small hopper back on, and I’m rolling that way for now.
