Kingrinder K2 or 1zpresso j-ultra if you don’t mind hand grinding for espresso. Baratza Encore ESP Pro or Eureka Mignon Notte for electric. If you don’t mind playing the QA/QC lottery, there’s also Chinese white label grinders like the Turin SK40 or Starseeker E55.
Eureka Mignon Filtro/Notte/Silenzio. Any electric grinder is loud, if you don't want noise, get hand grinder instead.
Eureka Mignon it is. You can buy a third-party steps dial (Etsy should have it) that would help you go back and forth.
Have you looked at the Eureka mignon line? They have a lot of options and burr sizes. Some are set up better for single dosing than others. I just have the notte that i mostly use for espresso but I like it a lot for V60. Much better than my ode
I really like the Eureka Mignon line, check out the Notte and the Zero.
This depends on what you are going to do with it. If Espresso only the lowest end Eureka Mignon Notte is a fantastic choice. It's flat burr, infinite adjustment and is relatively easy to service, but you won't need to service it. Cons are it's noisy but not horribly so and the slightly smaller flat burr on it takes grinding a shot a little longer than their models that are 2x the price. I use an original Baratza Encore (with the Encorn box) for everything else except travel (Hario Mini for that) and Turkish and I simply don't need anything else. I am personally of the opinion that if doing espresso then you really want a flat burr infinitely adjustable espresso only grinder. If you really need a one size fits all grinder then the mid to higher end Baratzas are hard to beat. A low end grinder plus the Eureka could be cheaper or no more in cost though. Hell for as much as I do pour over or French press I could just use the Hario!
I suggest you spend ~$350 on a grinder & <$50 on a scale. Not sure about your region specifically, but in many you can get a eureka mignon notte in this price range. This will have the biggest impact. After that, you'll want to get a real tamper, but you don't have to spend too much on this.
Damn that’s a fucking steal. Second I saw the photo I could tell it’s a Eureka. I have the Eureka Mignon Notte and I love it despite how noisy it is.
DF54 for my regular coffee, Eureka Notte for my decaf and a Shardor I got off the FB marketplace for other beans. I'm weird about mixing my beans with other beans because they're all perfectly dialed into one so it would be counter intuitive and odd to mix different ones into the same grinder. DF54 was $190 open box, same with the Eureka and the Shardor was $30. Shardor's are also massively underrated IMO. Barely any retention with the one I have.
