Great value for espresso, but clogs and poor for pour-over.

The retention that these guys hold is mind blowing and such a poor design flaw. Weigh your ground and you'll be down a few grams.
Yes, I use this daily for filter and batch. Retention ranges 95% of the time from 1 - 2.5g, banging on the top, using the lid as a bellow and tapping the collection cup on the bottom of the chute gets everything else out. It is a faff when it's a busy rush, probably ok for home use. Juat don't know why they've left a flapper off.
Got mine yesterday used it today absolutely love it it’s faster, quieter than my Baratza ESP .And looks a hell of a lot better!
Hi, I’m glad it’s only 200 so what it’s not all metal. I want to enjoy coffee and espresso and not go broke doing it. Actually, I wish fellow would release a cheaper espresso machine like the Breville Bambino which is fabulous.
Used one for a while at an office setup. My $0.02: run. don't look back. Get the K6. As for the Rocky, I wrote about it a while ago: > It is a grinder of a bygone era; a miniature of antediluvian commercial/cafe grinders for home use. Hopper based, optional doser, tiny, fine-y burrs meant for dark, roasty beans rich in body and bitter as heartbreak. It is barely adjustable, with hilariously coarse steps meant for the pre-scientific alchemy of dosing by eye, tamping by feel, and pulling by luck. > > Also, some genius put the adjustment screw directly in the grind path. WTF. They really gave no shits about dialing in because after a while, you just can't. > > The inability to grind effectively for different (lighter) roast levels, the disregard for maintainability, the noise, the retention, the static, the noise -- all of these can be yours for an eye-watering $400-500. Yeah, you can do much better for your dollar these days. > > (no i am not bitter why do you ask) If you can stretch your budget: Fellow Opus 2 (not the original). I believe it's already released, for a raunchy $200 For a little less: Shardor 64mm -- somtimes on sale for ~$149. This is a proper 64mm grinder with decent stock burrs. It's a plastic-bodied copy of the venerable Mazzer Super Jolly, with a decently machined burr chamber, and a properly balanced chute/exit path (with an ionizer, no less). It punches way above its weight and you can upgrade to the plethora of cheap-n-cheerful 64mm burrs.
The new Fellow Opus 2. USD $200. Near zero retention, the burrs are great all rounders for roast level/espresso to filter brew methods.
I'm getting a bit of walking (0.1 movement) during grinding. Is this normal? I have to keep setting it back after grinding.
Welp... the knob just broke when I went to adjust it again just now... will have to submit a ticket because it doesn't go back in and I cannot adjust my grind setting at all. This didn't last a day. https://preview.redd.it/p2la8uo4nsyg1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c7c0b536ceac929fd1fba631c8186e2f2c45effd
I think mine was defective. When it was working the shot I pulled tasted great. I’m waiting for Fellows to get back to me and hoping to get a replacement soon.
The fellow opus 2 is pretty quiet. Better get you can dose up what you need - hit the button and flee the room for a second. I would suggest noise cancelling buds or headphones though they do work miracles
I've been happy with Fellow Opus2. Grinds consistent and quiet and looks sleek so I think it's the best bang for the buck.
