I went down this rabbit hole recently myself. I posted about my quandary earlier at the following link which you might find enlightening. [https://www.reddit.com/r/LaMarzocco/comments/1pgiaxa/espresso\_grinder\_analysis\_paralysis\_constructive/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LaMarzocco/comments/1pgiaxa/espresso_grinder_analysis_paralysis_constructive/) My emphasis was on attaining GBW capability in a machine that was commercial grade even though it’s in my home. After lots of research and feedback from users here I bought the Eureka Atom W75 ($1850 in chrome), became disenchanted with the vibration, noise, difficulty of grind size adjustment, and build quality so I returned it ($220 restocking charge). And after further discussion with five technicians in my area who service these things, I ended up getting the Fiorenzato F64 Pro Sense ($2,300) I’m happy with that decision. Certainly overkill for the home but it has features that were important to me like ease of burr chamber access without loosing grind size adjustment, top class vibration isolation for the load cell sensor, etc. I was a bit concerned about it's size, but with the shorter hopper, I think it will be fine. Photo below - awaiting the delivery of a LM Mini R in silver grey finish next week that will replace the Rocket: https://preview.redd.it/x57yj3lge49g1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10487f1b54a12e68952a62839af8cb6351b24bfb If I were less focused on commercial robustness I might have waited for the new Mazzer Mini G which will be making introduction into North America in the next month. The AllGround Sense is another interesting choice but lacks true stepless grind adjustment. The E65W was another contender but I didn’t care for the esthetics and visual size statement. Happy to share more if you're interested.
Absolutely love our Fiorenzato, beast of a grinder and after 2-3 drinks a day of grinds through it for the last 15/16 months it’s still spot on 18g every time.
fiorenzato is about the same level to be honest. i only have preference towards mahlkonig, because I am happy with my EK43. i just like the user interface better of the mahlkonig grinder. i suggest to watch the kaffeemacher review. i do not speak german but you can use translation tools: https://kaffeemacher.de/blogs/kaffeewissen/mahlkoenig-e64-ws?srsltid=AfmBOoqip1DkzIy898Dckwnb9hg5XImj87Hf1TKKJdx3keN-1YbkCjTN
Same! Fiorenzato was too tall. Love the AP65. Consistent fluffy grounds. The big dial is a great upgrade. GBW is a quick, accurate, and clean workflow. And it looks great with the Dream PID! https://preview.redd.it/xgecs9arb9yf1.jpeg?width=3815&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c3b80c402f5c721817ea8bc55cb023237f31e6f
At the same time, the ergonomics of the Atom are just dreadful, despite being technically a better grinder. I tried to live with both for a few days and went with the Fiorenzato because of how much easier it is to dial in and clean. I didn't notice any noteworthy differences in retention and taste.
Baratza Encore for press/pour over. Old Fiorenzato café grinder for espresso. Have a couple of 1zpresso hand grinders for when I travel or when I want to experiment. Very content.
I looked at the Fiorenzato and it looks pretty awesome. Also, at a workshop, I had the opportunity to play with a Mahlkonig E65S GBW and it is just a pleasure to dial in with and makes phenomenal coffee, but it is over 2X the budget
fiorenzato f64 evo is a great grinder and widely available used (at least where i'm from)
