I love the Pietro, but for someone starting out I highly recommend the K6
r/pourover • WMF Stelio Grinder ->Going on a few months with the K6 and it's been treating me well. Even better because I got it on sale for about $80.
r/AeroPress • Recommendations for grinders preferably under $100? ->Absolutely, the difference was night and day once I got the Kingrinder K6
r/AeroPress • Is it worth getting a grinder with AeroPress? ->If you like a cleaner profile, I would also recommend you to look at the kingrinder K6. Maybe even better than the options you posted for starting off. From there you can still go to ZP6 or Ode 2 (although I think with that cup profile of the K6, the ZP6 is probably going to be unnecessary)
r/pourover • Help me pick my first grinder! ->I just pulled the trigger on the Kingrinder K6 - seems like they always have a $30 off coupon on amazon. If you do buy a timemore model make sure you get it from a reputable source. I got mine off etsy (bc it was slightly cheaper) and it was a knock off.
r/AeroPress • Help Needed: Budget-Friendly Coffee Grinder Recommendations for Filter, Aeropress, and Cold Brew ->Kingrinder P2 I think is the best bang for the money. K6 is a small upgrade. It's worth getting a grinder if you want to fine tune extraction of a good coffee, if you buy Lavazza or ily or something like that, not worth it.
r/AeroPress • Is it worth getting a grinder with AeroPress? ->I just got a kingrinder K6 and absolutely love it.
r/AeroPress • Help Needed: Budget-Friendly Coffee Grinder Recommendations for Filter, Aeropress, and Cold Brew ->This. On a 2-week vacation making hot coffee in my Aeropress for my wife and I, then putting the Puck Puck on top and making some cold brew. K6 is getting a LOT of work in.
r/AeroPress • Recommendations for grinders preferably under $100? ->Brew takes about three hours, though I have to tweak it a couple of times because the flow slows down as the volume in the reservoir drops. Given that I’m new to both the Puck Puck and the K6, I’m still dialing in. Thus far I’ve gone about 10 clicks coarser than I use for hot Aeropress and it’s working fairly well.
r/AeroPress • Recommendations for grinders preferably under $100? ->KinGrinder K6 is fine. It’s not amazing, but it’s not junk either. Definitely worth the $80-100 it usually goes for, and I’m totally happy with it as a travel grinder. If I was daily driving, I probably would have gone for a 1ZPresso K-Ultra or ZP6
r/AeroPress • Grinder recommendations?! ->I have 078s and it’s fantastic for espresso but find it lacking for pour over and wouldn’t recommend if pour over is primary focus. I can get some good cups and especially get good sweetness, but it produces a really blended profile and lacks clarity. Some may like that, but I think most people focused on pour over will want at lease some clarity and flavor separation. I’ve found 078s for espresso and occasional pour over, and K6 as primary pour over grinder is a great combo for my taste.
r/pourover • Electric Grinder Tier List ->I have the K6. I'm still a beginner, but everybody recommended the K6. I thought it was too expensive, but I like that you can dial on the outside, it seems solid. It can do more than I need. I rarely play around with the settings, only switch between FP and pourover. I saw that after the most recent James Hoffman video the P series of Kingrinder was sold out. I was actually considering a P2, but then went with K6. Had to wait 6 weeks to get mine as it was constantly out of stock on Amazon ....
r/AeroPress • New grinder. What grinders are you all using? ->Kingrinder k6 for me. Manual but reliable
r/espresso • Time to buy a grinder? If so, best one for less than £250 ->The biggest pain with k6 is (un)screwing 4 times per coffee (I use it to measure the beanz) and the static retention on the underside needing to be smacked out of it (I don’t wdt) 😂 I’d 100% buy it again if I was starting over though
r/espresso • Time to buy a grinder? If so, best one for less than £250 ->Yes, manual is never good for any more than 2 coffees at a time
r/espresso • Time to buy a grinder? If so, best one for less than £250 ->KINGrinder K6 is great. Super pleased with mine. Encore ESP is a solid choice… saw it on sale for $159 recently.
r/AeroPress • Grinder recommendations?! ->100% worth it! I also have the KINGrinder K6 and love it. Very versatile grinder. Even supermarket beans that are months old benefit from being freshly ground. As much as I love the Aeropress… if Americano’s are your thing, consider getting a Flair NEO manual espresso maker for $99. It will blow your mind.
r/AeroPress • Is it worth getting a grinder with AeroPress? ->KINGrinder K6 can be had for $100, and is fantastic for espresso as well as drip. It can be your travel grinder if you upgrade later. My first decent burr grinder was the Baratza Encore. I used it 7 years before passing it on to my son in law. It was night and day better than preground and blade grinder. I used it with a Chemex, French press, and Aeropress. $150 for Baratza.
r/espresso • What is the minimum you would have to spend on a grinder that would be better than just buying ground coffee? ->Eagerly awaiting my Casa. I have the Ode 2 w/ Gen 2 and SSP MP burrs, but I get far more enjoyable coffee out of my Kingrinder K6. Richer fruit notes, more rounded sweetness. I experienced the same with pourover from a friend’s Niche Zero, so my current theory is that my palate just likes the profile of coffee from conical burr grinders better. Worst case, the Casa will do espresso duty and I’ll just hand-grind for filter.
r/pourover • Best filter focused grinder for $500ish ->They're completely different grinders, but both offer good results. I mainly use the K6 for pourover, but it makes a very nice espresso, more texture and sweetness, less complexity. If you're up for a little workout, the K6 is probably the best bang for buck for espresso. The df54 is easier to use and offers a broader palate due to the flat burrs. I chose the DF54 because of space constraints and am still very happy with it. Coming from a Eureka Mignon Perfetto, the DF54 is better for medium and light roasts. If starting out, I would say to go for the K6, great bang for buck and you wont regret it. Available on amazon belgium for 99, so best bang for buck and a nice little workout in the morning. Takes about 40 seconds to grind 20 grams.
r/espresso • Which budget espresso grinder is the best AND available for a budget price in Europe/NL? ->To start, the DF54 is an excellent grinder. It was easy to dial in and the results were as good or better than with my KINGrinder K6 or the Baratza Encore ESP. Because this was my first serious electric grinder, I had some issues and questions in the beginning but resolved most of them by looking at some DF64 videos that applied to the DF54. Barret from Espresso Outlet also clarified some items. If you don't think the DF54 is a serious grinder, talk to my wife about the bill Here are some of the things I learned. **Support** For faster response, email is preferred. I prefer telephone. It took awhile but I did connect with Barrett and he patiently went through my questions. **Clogging** My DF54 worked fine for a week or so but started cloggling when grinding medium dark roasts - three times in a row after cleaning twice. After a thorough cleaning following a YT for the DF64, I tried hot starting and that seemed to solve the problem. One other owner on Reddit had the same problem but no others reported issues - with even very dark roasts. Barrett said he had not seen the issue at all on the DF54 *EDIT* I've been slow feeding and hot starting (turning on grinder before adding beans) for a month with no clogging. Recently, I accidentally dumped in 18 grams without slow feeding and it choked again. **Range** Espresso range is about 4 to 7 on the dial for my unit. Much more narrow than I expected. Dialing in 35 second shot with light roast beans is about 5 or 6 on the dial. Barrett said that is about right on the DF54. YMMV. *EDIT* On further use, with different beans, the espresso range on my unit is 4 to 12. The pourover range is broader, about 55 to 70. **Should you check alignment?** Some YT influencers say check alignment with new grinders.Others say don't bother unless you have a problem. Barrett says don't bother. They check most of the units. Also, smaller burrs like the 54mm aren't likely to have problems as larger burrs like 83mm. Finally, Barrett says smaller burrs are much harder to align and that even if they're 15% or so off, will not affect the performance noticably. If you are thinking about aligning your DF54, I recommend contacting your seller first for guidance. **Seasoning the burrs worth the time and coffee?** Barrett says no, and you could burn out the motor running it for twenty minutes or more at a time. Spromethius says in a YT on the topic that seasoning makes no difference in taste after many comparisons with different grinders. If you get a any new grinder, then go with manufacturers recommendations. *Edited to delete misinformation I repeated that seasoning can affect the life of the burrs. Mea Culpa. My bad.* **How do you avoid damaging the anti-clog device and the ionizer?** Be careful. See the YouTube uploaded today. [Turin Ion Cleaning -DF Grinder Maintenance](https://youtu.be/GEk3HKKidYk?si=rf5l1G_puXUZtK9v) **Cleaning** Barrett says ownets actually over clean. Pump the bellows and clear the chute after each use. Clean the chute with a screw driver and/or brush once a week. Remove the burr assembly and thoroughly clean once or twice a year. **Tips** You might/probably know of them but I came up with these solutions while tuning up the DF54. *Toothbrush* Use a disposable electric toothbrush to remove fine coffee powder or oil from threads when cleaning. I tried micro fiber rags with no luck getting to the residual oils or powder but the toothbrush worked in 30 seconds. Manual brush will probably work almost as well. *Dialing In* If you have an old grinder like a KINGrinder K6 or Baratza that has been dialed in for different brewing methods like pourover, AeroPress , etc, grind 5 or 6 beans in that grinder as your benchmark for that brewer. Then start doing the same in the DF54, adjusting until you get an approximate visual and texture match. That will get you a starting point for your new grinder. * **ALWAYS RUN GRINDER WHEN CHANGING GRIND SIZE. - ESPECIALLY COURSE TO FINER. Otherwise, you can JAM or damage the grinder. Applies to most consumer grade grinders.*** *Chirping when changing grind setting.* That sounds is almost certainly not the burrs touching. Rather it is a bean or bean fragments left between the burrs. The first dropped today on the ionizer link above. I will edit/monitor this post to keep current for a while. r/espresso • DF54 First Impressions and Questions For Espresso Outlet ->I was fine with my KINGrinder K6 for pourover, AeroPress, etc. but It got old fast when grinding for espresso. Pax
r/espresso • DF54 First Impressions and Questions For Espresso Outlet ->The DF54 produces very tasty shots and very good pourovers. I would say better than the K6 but Í haven't done blind cupping. Ít is also easier to dial in new coffee, I think I don't have the experience with the K6 and espresso to judge fairly. Also, I'm using different beans, so no good baseline. I remember getting good shots with the K6 but manual grinding that fine was a real chore and I very quickly went electric. When I have the time I may try comparative cupping and report back. But I'm no connoisseur. I taste sweet sour bitter fruity and bad/meh/good/OMG coffee. Pax
r/espresso • DF54 First Impressions and Questions For Espresso Outlet ->Tough choice. Off hand, if you travel or camp the K6 If you only pull a coupler of espresso shots a day, then the K6. You should be in reasonable shape and realized that grinding espresso requires a lot of torque, therefore effort. The DF54 does both espresso and filter coffee well The quality of filter coffee is often overlooked and underappreciated on this grinder It is fast and the best brand for the buck grinder under $400. But it isn't portable and takes some counter space. The DF54 is also $130 more - more than twice the K6 If you're new to specialty coffee, perhaps get the K6 first, and the DF54 later. You have to decide for you but I will say you can't make a mistake with either I'm a big fan of both. I went from the C2 to the K6 and have championed this grinder ever since. Hope this helps. Pax
r/espresso • DF54 First Impressions and Questions For Espresso Outlet ->I can guarantee you can make coffee that is comparable in terms of quality to the best coffee shops on a grinder costing much less. Be it the 99 usd K6, the 199 usd ZP6, the 399 usd Pietro, or any of the many affordable grinders that exist. The order goes like this, good coffee, good dial, good water, good grinder. You don't want to use a Hario grinder, but that's about it. If you want something to taste like the batch brew of you favorite shop, start by using their beans, their water or something close in terms of general hardness and carbonate hardness, and then you can start messing around with dial and technique.
r/Coffee • How to make V60 taste like a batch brew ->Hard to say, my tap is something like 170 GH and 200 KH, I'll take my custom water with grounds from a K6 or a 1z JX-Pro rather than my tap and P100 for example.
r/Coffee • How to make V60 taste like a batch brew ->I have the Kingrinder K6, is the K Ultra redundant if I already have the K6? Maybe people here claim them to give identical results
r/pourover • [Question] Best burr grinder for pour-over under $400 ->I love the ESP for espresso but for pourover (coarser) its static makes a huge mess that's a pain to clean up. Even with a drop of water prior. So I got the K6 for this and I'm very happy with that setup
r/espresso • “2 in 1” Grinder for Espresso and Pour over ->K6 is what I got for my first setup. Works great, easy to use, and really doesn’t take much time or energy to grind. Maybe a minute. Definitely recommend this one.
r/espresso • What’s a good coffee grinder [$200] around that range ->I went bambino and kingrinder k6 and am very happy with both. Other stuff I bought: a bottomless portafilter, puck screen, scale, dosing funnel, wdt tool, and distributor/tamper with a fixed depth. Been very happy with my setup.
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->I’ve been around 38 with the bottomless. Actually when I first started I didn’t realize the k6 can go all the way around… so I was at like 90 and thought it was 40 and it sprayed everywhere lol. With 18g dark roast at 38 grind size, fresh beans, wdt to break up the clumps, tamped down pretty hard, puck screen on top, I’ve gotten really pretty good shots.
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->Anybody saying no is mad. Coffee goes stale within hours of being ground, most supermarket coffee was roasted MONTHS ago and is already stale. I use a K6 for everything from my Aeropress to my manual Espresso machine. It's amazing bang for buck, and when paired with a drill, extremely easy. If you can afford it, go for it. The grinder is the absolute most important part of your set up, it's the thing that will bottleneck the rest of your equipment if it's not good enough.
r/AeroPress • Is it worth getting a grinder with AeroPress? ->Everyone is telling you alternatives for double the price. If you want something near or within $100, consider hand grinding if grind quality is not something you want to compromise. I’m happy with my K6 but have also ordered this grinder after trying a friend’s and comparing with his J Ultra. It’s worse for sure, but not much worse. And it’s not half the price worse. Just make sure to weigh post grinding, do careful puck prep, and sometimes you won’t be able to dial into exact parameters.

r/espresso • Best coffee grinder under [150$] ->Bambino + kingrinder k6(or df54 if within your budget) If he likes to drink drip coffee, you might as well go with a hario switch, scale, kingrinder k6 and a gooseneck heater(I like timemore ones) Try out darling peach from dak coffee roasters. Wild stuff.
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->kingrinder k6 is really good in comparison to my df83v2
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->Interesting response, have you compare ninja with other items? I literally gave kingrinder to my father, BIL and my aunt. They enjoyed the process to the fullest.
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->I bought kingrinder for the 4th time now, k6 k6 k2 and k6 again. Family members love the grinder and asking for one for themselves and I end up gifting it. Works well for everything (especially k6 is amazing to dial) and I use df83v2 only for espresso purposes this way
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->Df54 is by far the best budget grinder I used, it made me want to sell my grinder and buy that. However, if you ask me if I would like to be without df83 or kingrinder k6, even though sounds excessive, I personally would get k6. I hate dialing again after making changes in df. If the case only applies for me drinking espresso beverages, I would get df54 Please don’t forget to check the voltage levels before ordering, and also there is a company which sends items directly with some shady methods which would help you avoid paying taxes. I also bought from there, let me know if you want the details
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->I’ve had really m good luck with my Kingrinder. For the money it’s a really good grinder and it is really low effort.
r/espresso • Help on what to decide [around 500-550 USD] ->I wanna add to this that zp6 is not a beginner friendly grinder. It produces a cup radically different from a usual non specialty coffee and can make coffee defects more upfront. Edit: I'd go with Q2, X-Pro or K series from 1zpresso or a Kingrinder. Less clarity and more body.
r/pourover • Zp6 - disappointed ->
