Yeah, the x54 is a great grinder for espresso! If you haven't yet, suggest you check if the burrs are aligned, especially for espresso griding. Enjoy the journey making espresso. There are many fun things to try with espresso such as pre-infusion, turbo shots, RDT, WDT, paper filters, profiling, different cup filters, etc... Have fun!

Everyone recommends the Ode. I think they are a useless grinder personally. I bought the Gen 2. It looks beautiful, it is fun to use, but you have no control over grind size. The steps between each setting are too big. For that reason alone I had to get rid of mine and take a loss. I bought a Mahlkonig x54 and also use a ZP6 for travel. Couldn’t be happier. Edit - Lol, I knew this would be downvoted. For anyone reading this with a budget of $€£500 I would suggest that you look into other options than Fellow Ode 2. I have way more control when dialing in, which I didnt have with the Ode and my coffee has significantly improved. There is far too much hype over this grinder

At the shop I work at, we use the x54 for our batch brews and it works pretty well. It is pretty staticcy though which we counter by using rdt, but if you’re wanting to fill the hopper you wouldn’t be able to do so should be taken into consideration

The x54 has a dial issue swapping between espresso and filter too (unless that’s the grinder you were talking about lol) where it sticks and you have to run the grinder to make any substantial changes, however between the larger filter sizes I’ve never had that problem. Only switching drastically

100% yeah. I’ve never had a problem switching between the coarser dials for customers who want a bag ground

Thank you for the reply! I actually went for the Mahlkönig x54! 😍 It is so easy to use, fast, reliable, beautiful in white next to my Lelit Mara X. Easy to clean and has many settings I haven't even gone through😀

I am very happy with my x54 and we mostly do filter coffee during the week. I would recommend it. (Additionally I cannot complain for the espresso and I can even do Greek coffee.)
