I'll always mention the mahlkonig x54 because it's not just an espresso grinder. You'll be able to grind fine espresso to coarse French press.

I have a Mahlkönig X54 and it works well. I just switched to an ims big bang triple shot basket in my profitec pro 400. With the Brazilian bean I use from a local roaster I’m set around 3.25. Just switched to the ims baskets about a month ago and am finally figuring them out more consistently. That was another learning curve. I picked the grinder up about 2 years ago with my setup and paid $500 on sale from whole latte love that was the main selling point. I switch from espresso to pour over frequently so versatility was a must. It’s a bit large but pretty quiet all things considered. Usually doesn’t wake the kids. It’ll hold about a gram pretty consistently so I just as an extra gram in the first dose and after that it’s all accurate and will come out when I switch back to a coarse grind. I’m happy with it but I would love to pick up a df54 to compare. Orrrr change my burrs out but I’ve had a hard time finding ssp burrs for example but I’ve heard they exist.

I’ve got three grinders. Two Mahlkonig grinders, x54 for espresso and a Guatemala Lab for drip. Also, have a bodum bistro that I use as my travel grinder. Technically have an encore as well but it lives at the family cabin.

The only advice I can give is stop watching youtube videos lol It’s a never ending battle of buyer’s envy to buyer’s remorse. I’ve owned a Mahlkonig x54, two timemore hand grinders, three 1zpresso handgrinders, a Fellow ode gen2 with both burr sets, and a baratza esp… If I could do it all again and only have one grinder now I would choose the Baratza esp or esp pro. Neither high end grinder will make bad beans taste good, so just save your money on the grinder and buy better beans… pretty much all grinders will give you the same results around the $500 mark, it’s just that I found the Baratza did everything I wanted and had unreal customer support, which I can’t say enough good about… best of luck!

I have the Mahlkonig and am extremely happy with the results, if you’re looking for recommendations.
