Espresso machines and grinders still have significant manufacturing in Italy and other western countries. None of my equipment is made in China. Mazzer, Kafatek, LA Marzocco, Elektra.

Mazzer is really worth it. Trust me.

Definitely get them to look at the used market. There are always loads of used Mazzer commercial grinders on the used market and they are built to last and will be within budget.

I’ve got a mazzer and have had for 15 years. It’s never needed a single thing done to it. I have that and a Rocket e61 and I couldn’t be happier.
