If you're able to return this, do so and get the CF64V from MiiCoffee. You \*can\* do fine with this but for that money there are options that you'll have a much better experience with.

For $400 \[CF64V\] you get 64mm burrs, vertical stack and a larger (and brushless) motor. The 64mm burrs are also swappable with almost all major players in the burr game (SSP, Lab Sweet etc etc} - it'll just be more future proof for you as you grow in the hobby. The downside to the CF (or any DF/CF model) is that the quality control is all over the place. Just buy it from a reputable reseller (like miicoffee) and you'll be fine.

Definitely will. Review video will be a bit as it takes some time to get used to it and potentially season it. First impressions are that that work flow is great. I've not used RDT and have had next to no retention (<0.2g) and static is quite minimal as well. The initial (light/medium-light) cups I've made have had decently high clarity, comparable, if not slightly better than my stock 078s.

That's exactly why I took a chance. It feels solid. Everything is metal except for the "hopper" and the variable speed dial. Build quality does not feel low for this one at all

The more I use it, the more I enjoy it. It appears to use the very similar, if not the same multi-purpose burrs as the Df64. Incredibly fast grind, but a bit on the louder side. The work flow is quite nice and I've been able to get rather consistent espresso shots with it, and have even jumped between dark and light roasts with no noticeable impact on the shots. I have not tried it out for pour over yet. Any specific questions that you have, feel free to ask.

I have not used the (included) RDT yet and I have noticed just a little static, nothing ridiculous. The (what I assume to be) plasma generator does a decent job. I haven't used a Gen2 Df64, I'm comparing it to a timemore 078s, which is my other grinder. It's not much louder, but I can tell a noticeable difference in the volume. Retention has been a non-issue

It’s the only good option for an espresso grinder you have on the list. The Fellow Ode is a filter grinder and can’t grind fine enough stock, and still under powered for espresso even with SSP burrs. Fellow Opus is just…no OXO is not an espresso grinder Shardor 64 and Mokkom 64 are the two budget options but they’re currently about $10-20 higher than what you could get them at. The two other Chinese grinders are typically only bought even in China as part of a “free gift” as part of an espresso machine bundle. Ultra budget. The DF83V is a good grinder that some would even call end game. So obviously, there’s no comparison. But I’ll throw in one more option for you: CF64V. It’s essentially a $400 64mm little brother to the DF83V and you can even put SSP burrs in it if you want to spend extra, but the stock DLC burrs are certainly plenty solid.

Yeah it’s kind of the best value grinder on the market imo. Kind of also shows how grinder recommendations by people online are mostly based on individual biases since for roughly the same price, by the same manufacturer and distributors, the CF64V destroys the DF64 across the board by every metric, yet DF64 probably still gets mentioned more.

I would go with the DF64 gen2 or the horizontal squarish model. The one that avoids that wooden booster for the doser to sit in.
