[OXO brew conical burr grinder](https://a.co/d/3W187rZ) $110 you want a conical burr grander. It’s a more consistent grind. And this one produces a consistent amount

Freshly ground coffee from beans is the best! I use an electric burr grinder and make single-portion pour-overs using one of those Melitta filter and cones from Canadian Tire. Having a gooseneck spout with specific temp settings makes a huge difference. As for coffee brands - I find the Balzac's Farmers Blend from Costco to be a great everyday option. If you like something stronger and more of a specialty blend, Cavan or Planet Bean never disappoints. Kicking Horse also goes on sale once in awhile at Metro and Zehrs if you want to switch it up between light/med/dark roasts. I've had a couple of different coffee grinders and this OXO one is my favourite: https://a.co/d/9BtcDDc Because the collecting canister is stainless steel (not plastic), you won't end up with static, which helps the freshly ground coffee from flying all over the place. It's also pretty quiet.

I got this Oxo one: https://www.oxo.com/conical-burr-coffee-grinder.html I saw it recommended somewhere as the cheapest conical burr grinder worth getting. Been using it daily for 6 months and I'm happy with it for my pourover and cold brew, so I'd recommend it.

The bare minimum electric coffee grinder I’d go for would be Oxo’s at near $90, because although the grind quality isn’t that bad (much better than the Cuisinart tangentially mentioned in that Prima Coffee article), the workflow and UX are quite good.  We got one for my sister and she’s pretty happy with it. Baratza is the big name for the next tier up, and we’re already around $150-ish.  Kitchenaid and Breville each have a pretty good one at $200, and then the field starts to get crowded around $300 with Fellow, Eureka, Varia, Turin, and a bunch of others.  $500-plus gets you home-friendly models by cafe-workhorse brands like Mahlkönig. Over in hand grinders, “end game” territory starts as low as $150-200 if you do some judicious shopping, and “very good entry level” below $100 from brands like Timemore, 1ZPresso, Normcore, or Kingrinder.  I’ve got a little 1ZPresso Q2 and don’t feel much need to get anything else unless I want to do espresso (or brew big batches daily).

Yup. My sister's still using the one that we got her a few years ago, too.

If you're asking about sound and retention, you already need to be budgeting at least double of what the Oxo costs.

Is the OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder a decent "enough" grinder if I'm only using it for drip and French press?

Do you currently have an espresso machine or plans to get one soon? There are some grinders that claim to be able to grind for both styles of coffee, but if you won’t be doing espresso anytime soon you are probably going to be better off going with a grinder designed for drip style preparations. If you do really want to get something that could potentially work for both the OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder could be a good option. They price in around $150 dollars and are middle of the road but solid. If you do eventually get into making espresso the biggest piece of advice I would give, is spend more on your grinder then you think you should. Grind is more important than even the Machine itself.

All of these will work for a Moka Pot. All of these will work with a less expensive espresso machine that brews pressurized like Stilosa. If you intend to eventually improve your espresso game by brewing non-pressurized, only P2 is (barely) capable of it. If it were me, I'd get Oxo, Bodum, or Capresso as they are well known good quality electric grinders, and plan to get a better grinder later should you get more serious about espresso.

Oxo- priced right and does a very good job, easy enough to maintain and I’ll even share the Amazon link- not an affiliated one there’s nothing in this for me but saving you time. [Oxo grinder on Amazon](https://a.co/d/gPBqhvv)

I bought the OXO burr grinder a couple years ago and have no regrets. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSKGLMM?ref\_=ppx\_hzsearch\_conn\_dt\_b\_fed\_asin\_title\_3&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSKGLMM?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1)
