The Millab E01 will suit you better vs the Whirly 01S. Although I would recommend the Femobook A2 over either one, unless you want the all metal construction of the Millab E01.
Basically manual hand grinders win almost at all times when it comes to filter coffee. The output is just better. There are only three considerations to get electric grinder: 1. Price (more expensive but if you don't mind it then go for it). 2. Labor (whether if you are willing to grind by hand). This question becomes easier to answer if you brew large doses in every batch and then also do it daily. Obviously electric would be better. This relates to capacity as well. Even if you want to grind manually, you also have to be willing to feed the chamber a couple times since most hand grinder with the catcher cup only accommodate 30 grams of ground coffee, goes as small as 20 g for the compact ones. Yes, many great electric grinders are single-dose too, but the hopper should still fit more beans. 3. Portability. This matters the least since we now have some options of small, built-in battery-powered electric grinders ready in the market that are actually quite amazing. Perfect for travel and camping. Whirly 01S and Millab E01, to name a few.
Hell yes. DF 83 v, Libra, Z1, J Ultra, Kafatek max 3 and Pietro pro. I have 3 set ups. Home, work, vacation. Oops. I have a Timore X Millab too.
I have the Millab E01. It is rechargeable and uses Timemore burrs. It make a very consistent grind and is built like a tank.
I personally use a timemore go as my daily driver. It's a portable grinder with built-in battery and motor. I think timemore have 3 newer versions like it, Whirly 01s, Millab E01 and Nutti OX. I don't if any other brand does this. I got issues with my hands (ligament surgery on left wrist and probably mild carpal tunnel on right hand) so hand grinders are usable but just a pain.

Femobook A2 or one of the Timemore Millab rechargeable grinders is going to be perfect for her.
The Ode Gen 2 was my daily driver for quite a while and for the $ it’s great. I now have the 078 for my daily electric, and also regularly use a Millab 01 and Pietro. There are already a ton of great comments giving great advice, so I’ll keep it relatively straightforward: **1) Will you be traveling much and want to do pour over while traveling? If yes go hand grinder. 2) If you won’t be traveling or wanting pour over while traveling, get the Ode.** And either way, unless you give up pour over, you’ll be buying another grinder at some point so just get whichever one you didn’t get then. Another great thing about the Ode is you can upgrade later with SSP MP’s Timemore 064 turbo/ghost burrs, or another great burr and really increase the brew quality for a reasonable cost. Btw, love the M01 and Pietro and would highly recommend either.
I’m too lazy to read all of that so I’ll respond to your title. I got a Timemore espresso grinder for around your price that I’m happy with.
Just change the 1z for the timemore electric. Nobody likes manually grinding coffee firsr thing in the morning
The most important thing you need to decide is of you want a conical grinder or a flat burr grinder. They will taste different. Conical grinders like the Niche are great for getting full bodied espresso. Flat burr grinders can give you more flavor clarity if you want to do the occasional light roast (they are also good for traditional espresso but maybe a little harder to dial in than the Niche). Among the flat burrs the DFs work great but quality control is apparently hit or miss. My df64 gen 1 was definitely in the "hit" category and has been bullet proof, but I did buy upgraded ssp mp burrs both to accentuate clarity and to make sure they will do a burr alignment before shipping it out. If you don't want to play that lotto something like the Time More might be better.
