"in 2 and a half months i have YET to get their 47lb dual motor 1500w peak power SLOWmotion climber to even touch 22mph and that's WITH me going downhill on a full charge and i weigh ~140 smh"

"The Apollo Go has 2x 350w motors, which is as much torque as a 1400w single motor. Which isn't a whole lot, but enough for a 230lb rider to get up a ~12-15% incline. ... Btw the Apollo go isn't even close to achieving what you want at your weight."

Look on eBay for the Apollo Go. Good deals to be had on new and refurbished scooters. Got mine for $450, very good deal for a dual motor scooter.

Good luck. Whatever you end up with I've found that dual motor is a lot nicer and safer to ride...

you mean SLOWmotion lol.....in 2 and a half months i have YET to get their 47lb dual motor 1500w peak power SLOWmotion climber to even touch 22mph and that's WITH me going downhill on a full charge and i weigh ~140 smh.....solid scooter to be honest but hopefully my 41mph ausom leopard dt1 pro arrives today (12/20/24). the SLOWmotion climber is gonna be sold or back burnered or used when i'm NOT in a rush and i DON'T have to travel a longer distance.

Apollo customer service and repairs is sooooooo bad. Literally had to go back and forth with those bastards 27 times to get an issue fixed and had to send my scooter back in for looong repairs three different times to fix a single issue because they're so incompetent and kept sending it back either incorrectly repaired, or not repaired at all. I lost an entire season of riding to their bullshit. Then when I finally got it going my battery was hosed and dropped from 20 miles of range to just 9 miles. Then the power started shutting down randomly and the run flat tires repeatedly ran flat. Experiencing their bullshit then seeing asshats like Electric Scooter Guide calling them one of "the most reliable brands" is just nauseating. What a pack of shills.

I own Apollo Go, Stellar, & RS Midnight 2.0. Coming from a original nightmare Apollo Phantom 60v. The go and the stellar are identical and built like tanks. Stellar has more power, better lighting, better suspension.  RS Midnight is a race machine with race features. The Apollo is a smooth power house with sidewalk capability. Both are amazing.  I prefer the Apollo Stellar despite being Apollos biggest hater. RS midnight has to be maintained, screws tightened, controllers replaced. It's like a race car with easily replaceable parts. You may need to repair it out of the box or down the road.  The stellar is rather dumby proof. Puncture proof tires, Regen 90% of the time. Better in congested areas. Smooth throttle control reduces fatigue and evokes confidence in tight spaces. Plenty of power. Ludo is almost too much without proper traction control. RS is more stable, lower to the ground and better for fast takeoffs with its Gyro and Traction control. If you like to race and brake to each intersection, RS is more fun. If precision and reduced fatigue are your priority. Stellar!!! My 2¢

I’m a large man too and I drive an Apollo Go with no issues. Dual motors help on those hills and packs up light so I can haul it into the office no problem.

I was looking for about the same thing as you and was debating between an Inmotion Climber and an Apollo Go. Settled on the Go, 700ish km later, no regrets. Lots of people have had issues with various Apollo products but I’d guess lots more have loved theirs like I have.

I was debating the two but wanted something I could carry into the office so settled on the Go. The 28MPH is a buzz kill but I have hit 29 downhill a few times

I just bought the VX2 hub last week. Right out of the box the LCD screen displays doesn’t work. With that being said their customer service is great they sent out a replacement part the next day and even offer to pay a repair shop to install it on their dime. As far the scooter it has a lot of power and it’s quick. So far I can’t say anything bad about. I also have the Apollo go and air. They have been both reliable and I have not had any issues out of them. I will say if I had to pick one it would be the VMAX. It’s has more power and definitely the top speed is higher.

Like everyone else has mentioned, those theoretical range numbers are almost impossible to achieve in the real world. I have a 2024 Apollo Go, the range they claim is 20 to 30 miles. I weigh 210 and live in an area that has various size hills. I took mine out for a realistic thrashing (max acceleration, cruising at 25mph) and was able to get 13 miles before hitting 20% battery. If you're commuting 15 miles one way, I'd suggest an E bike that is far more comfortable and has the ability to carry larger batteries. There are E bikes that can make those distances, but they're going to cost.

I went kind of hard. I just got my first scooter, but bought 2 so I could compare brands. \#1: NIU - KQi 300X Pros: Better battery life than the Apollo. I also like how Regenerative Braking is automatic after you set the level, whereas the Apollo has a separate RBS throttle, which I think contributes to better battery life for the NIU. Also, bigger Deck than the Apollo. Cons: I am not sure if it will be fixable in future firmware updates, but the throttle/acceleration is horrible. It is quick and zippy, sure; but there is no fine control. I can manage to get lower speeds like 10-15mph, but any slight movement jerks the acceleration forward. Its great for straight shot rides where you are going to have one speed consistently, but not as great when constantly changing speed. \#2: Apollo Go Pros: The thumb throttle, and the software for the controller is immaculate. I can't express enough how easy it is to control the speed. My 8 year old jumped on and got it down quick. The AWD makes acceleration feel like it pulls you forward, whereas the RWD on the KQi 300X feels like it pushes you and is somewhat abrupt. The front and rear braking + RBS throttle makes slowing down on this thing really easy. I like the headlights better, as they are brighter and have better spread. Cons: Smaller deck, battery life isn't quite as good on the Go, but maybe because I haven't mastered using the manual regenerative braking throttle. The APP is not as user friendly as the NIU app, but still simple enough to navigate with relative ease. Both scooters seem to max out at about 16mph on the steepest hills I hit on my route to/from work. So, if I had to do it again currently; I probably would've bought 2 Apollo Go's, BUT the NIU KQi300X would probably win out if the manufacturer could smooth out the firmware and acceleration issues. So, I'd recommend an Apollo Go if you can swing it.

Apollo Go is an amazing hill climber and is right at your budget. I've had mine for over a year in a (fairly) hilly area and it kills it out there.

I've had the complete opposite experience with my Go. No issues through 1.5 years, and I've had great customer service. They have been inconsistent with their models though - I know the City 2023 (or is it 2024?) has been plagued by issues, but I've never been happier than with my Go (consensus on the Go is consistent with my story).

Dual motors give you twice the torque, which is what gets you up a hill. Doubling the power (watts) of the motor gives you twice the torque as well. Also, once hub motors are reduced below half speed up hill ("lugging the motor"), they start to get really hot, really fast. You want enough power to avoid this. The Apollo Go has 2x 350w motors, which is as much torque as a 1400w single motor. Which isn't a whole lot, but enough for a 230lb rider to get up a ~12-15% incline. Also Apollo has issues with their stems and stuff snapping. Avoid The Super Stellar has 2x 1000w motors, which is, as much torque as a 4000w single motor. That's nearly 3x more, which will be much more adequate. 230lb rider could get up a ~25-30% incline.

Hey brother, im just giving you fair warning, apollo is not it. Not even close. As a fellow canadian, i wish i could have supported them. they only needed to be "alright" and i would have. You will get burned spending money with these ppl. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

I just got a new but used Apollo go from marketplace I talked the dude down to $425 for it when it’s a $1,300 scooter retail it has a top speed of 28mph and a 30 mile range, front and rear suspension which is amazing along with other bells and whistles such as cruise control and different ambient lighting modes. Long story short I would definitely get one from marketplace for the best bang for your buck but if you insist on buying one new the phantom go go scooter from Costco isn’t bad if has like a 24 mile range with a top speed of 15mph the main downside is no suspension but it’s still a nice scooter.

I just ordered. Dont want to miss the in-stock or the price given it just dropped again. I'm retuning my Apollo go. Great scooter. Too heavy and difficult to maneuver on/off the train during the commute. Seems like a small thing, but its almost 50lbs and I have to up/down steps for the train at one of the stops each way.

I recently bought the Apollo Go 2024 for commuting, and I do not in any way regret the buy. It hist the 45 kmph and its exceptional at climbing. The build quality is top notch. My only regret is not getting the Apollo Go City that brings you to 51 kmph. But my advice is to just get one.

How much do you weigh? That will be a big factor as well. However, I would go with something that is dual motor, which would be the Apollos. I live in Seoul and the city is full of hills. I got a decent dual motor scooter here locally and it handles most hills like a champ. I ride it in single motor mode majority of the time and only engage dual motor when I need to.
