r/ElectricScootersDeciding between Apollo Phantom and Inmotion RS… why is choosing a scooter always this hard?

Well put it this way, besides the probably big weight and size difference, you can always power down the RS, can’t power up the phantom. I use my big ass Burn E as my everyday scooter. I tried using the Vsett I bought for my gf, but yeah the power isn’t there, plus she has the acceleration turned down a bit. Like 3/5. So I don’t feel comfortable getting a good lead in front of traffic. Of course when it’s gets up to speed it’s not issue. No customizable modes so I’d have to go in the p setting every time to change it. Sure, it’s easier to whip around… but that’s about it. I will lug my scooter everywhere because I can switch from granny mode to balls to the wall in two button presses, with my regular riding mode dead smack in the middle. 52v vs 72v is no joke. I’d go with the RS and call it a day. With all of that said, unless you’re dealing with stairs, the widest part on scooters is the handlebars, you can always put it on the lowest mode if you need to walk with it. Also: being able to adjust the ride height on the RS makes a huge difference. With the stem *and* the deck. Also also: had no idea the 52v phantom is just as heavy as my 72v burn e (102lbs), just about the same top speed as well. So weight is out the window

Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty sure the Phantom has its own customization going on where my issue isn’t an issue on that scooter. And the phantom is way stronger than the Vsett. I was just speaking from my experience. It’s really about what controller and motor is packing. But all in all a 72v scooter like the RS is a very different experience power wise than the Phantom. I personally rather have the power for when I really wanna get a thrill. Even though my scoot can go up to 45, I’m mostly near 30, but the torque I have at hand is frickin nuts, and that’s just the weaker base model hauling 220lbs. It’s frightening when my girl rides it, she’s like almost 140. The RS has even more torque. If I didn’t hear so many issues coming from it, I’d recommend the RS Jet. Punch in a smaller form factor. It’s so tiny looking

It really depends on whether you value comfort over thrill. The Phantom is great for smooth city rides, while the RS is more fun for bursts of speed. Backyard Provider having both options at decent deals is kind of a blessing and a curse, it makes the decision harder but easier to trust your choiice.

Yup my dualtron is a pain in the ass to change rotors. For how often I've had to change tires I would rather have it rotor side. The Apollo phantom it takes 1 extra minute to remove the rotor to change the tire. Don't even need to remove the swingarm. Took 2 days to change the rotors on the dualtron and had to Dremel swing arms and reshrink the wires going into swing arms and at the controller. I'm with you 💯 on this one!

r/ElectricScootersRecommend a reliable scooter for hill climbing (Budget around $1,000)

How much do you weigh? That will be a big factor as well. However, I would go with something that is dual motor, which would be the Apollos. I live in Seoul and the city is full of hills. I got a decent dual motor scooter here locally and it handles most hills like a champ. I ride it in single motor mode majority of the time and only engage dual motor when I need to.
