r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter under $1000 ->Im pretty sure the ones from aliexpress are straight from the factory Like theyve been made and immediately get put in a box, cause when i bought it i didnt have no arwibon branding other then the GT08 stuff on the swing arms thats my only logical explanation
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter under $1000 ->\^ he's got it right. But just to add.. asking people for scooter recommendations without knowing YOUR specifics is hard. What works for me may not work for you. And all you'll get in this sub is a bunch of people giving you their personal recommendations on what THEY like. At the very least, you have to give us choices and then maybe we'll help tell you which we think is best. See.. for me, personally, I'd recommend a cheap GT08 from AliExpress for you. As a 240 lb., 5' 11" tall guy this scooter FLIES. Not the best quality in the world, but for an inexperienced rider who's buying their first scooter, you can't go wrong with something this powerful and affordable. Yes.. it MAY break down over time. I've already considered this. If I get a solid 6 months out of it before any major problems occur then I'd call that a win. If you truly WANT quality and something that's tried, true and tested then go with Minimotors like he said. But keep in mind, they're expensive. A lot of "name brands" can be expensive. If you aren't careful, you'll end up buying nothing more than a re-branded, Chinese made scooter at 2.5x the DFM cost. The GT08 comes with a "case" to hold stuff, tied around the stem and handlebars. It has powerful motors and battery. Can reach 40+ MPH depending on incline even with someone my weight. Has a nice, wide deck and 11" tires. And I paid $600 for the damn thing.. but the average is about $700, delivered to the US. Honestly, I wouldn't say the suspension is the best (at my weight), but it works and hasn't caused me any major issues. It can definitely get you a 10 mile round trip, even at maxed out speed, without needing a recharge. But again.. like I said, that's just MY opinion. Before you commit to any scooter over $700 (unless money is just no issue for you), then I'd recommend doing more research. Look at the top brands first, then try to find their alternatives. If an alternative works for you as a first time scooter, then go for it. Personally, I plan on buying another, BETTER scooter at some point. But for now.. this works for me.
r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooter Recommendation for Tall Person ->Your expectations don't match reality. Nothing that can go 30-40 mph will be that cheap. Nothing Reliable anyway. Also expect range to be about 50% of max advertised range if your going above 15mph or weigh more than 125lbs. Closest ting is the arbiwon gt08. Look at posts in the subreddit for pros and cons.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking into faster scooters on a budget ->That one’s pretty legitimate and it’s a pretty decent value. Although typically I think shipping might be kind of slow and the price does fluctuate with the shipping. But it’s the best way to get a decent speed at a fairly affordable price. Only tag is that most people recommend to basically check over every bolt because the quality control is not the greatest or trustworthy. Although I cannot get too much since that’s almost the case for every scooter you buy on AliExpress or Alibaba.
r/ElectricScooters • Looking into faster scooters on a budget ->I have put over 600 miles in under 4 months even with this crappy weather lol but I also recommend the GT08 best cheaper scooter I have owned and actually runs and rides better then scooters I paid double for. Best part for you is the bad ass suspension I grew up in the South Bronx a few years ago back in the 80's and I remember the potholes and crappy roads like trying to cross the Willis avenue bridge on a bicycle some of the holes were literally 6 inches deep another good part is if you cruise at like 30mph you will get around 35 miles per charge so if you only ride to work you could get away with charging it every 3 days if you use it for other things may be every 3 days. And yes it's a pretty powerful fast scooter but if your a semi responsible adult you will be fine in fact a lot of times I actually turn off the front motor like on crowded downtown streets single drive is perfect for that it's not jumpy plus it actually saves more battery. Just make sure you add an alarm $25 on AliExpress and use 2 good locks. Had 2 scooters stolen in the past so I am extra careful now with an Alarm immobilizer, a nice Art certified folding lock an off the shelf at Walmart security covered kryptonite lock and chain. And I keep it in my apartment haven't had any issues with this scooter and highly recommend it, you won't find more or better for the price. https://preview.redd.it/1nklv0xmyjfe1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=180adc1d1c4a3c4020bbee53b05b4fa421500c65 I changed a few of the visual things but mechanicaly doesn't need any upgrades. I have under $1000 total into it with all the mod on it just make sure whatever you get you put tire sealant in as soon as you get it, will save you a lot of headaches with the shity roads in the Bronx so you don't end up pushing it to the L
r/ElectricScooters • Overwhelmed by options - Help me choose a reliable e-scooter for my NYC commute! ->6'4" 205lbs here. I have a 60v Arwibon gt08. I max it at 40mph and it's my daily driver to work. Can be found on aliexpress for under $800. It's a lot of scoot for the price. Has a two spring in the front and a 1200lb shock in the back. Personality I'm going to put a stronger shock in and a tire upgrade is a good idea if you do mostly city.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter for a big guy ->I'm telling you you've got to make the switch and get a full-on dual C-type suspension dual motor one. Yes they start the cheapest one you can get is about $1,000 delivered but go on Facebook marketplace look around here. You can always find good deals. My first, and I call them the full size e-scooters, I had traded my Trek mountain bike for a Varla Eagle One. That's hat did it for me. Then I found a Arbiwon GT08 on FB with only 7 mi les on it for $400, that a lot of people like to talk crap about how cheap it is, but that's people who haven't ever driven one that thing halls but with 5,600 dual suspension has a regenerative brakes has the horn turn signals brake lights hydraulic brakes, regenerative braking. Then most recently I found, what I think is the best scooter for the money, the Zondoo Gobee Z001pro for $500 on FB as well. Now that scooter new runs anywhere from $1,600 $2,000. But honestly that one comes with everything you can think of with 6,000 watts of power and optional seat you can screw in or take off comes with the adjustable steering dampener already on a|~€~`~~~~ built in. And just the acceleration and smoothness and how rugged it's built the 10-in fat tires. Put it this way I went and test drove the roadrunner RX7 I think mine rides almost just as well and as fast. Now the RX7 I think has a top speed into the '60s because it's a 72 volt. My andz001 pro tops out at 58 mph
r/ElectricScooters • I got my first electric scooter a month ago…. I may have developed a problem…… ->Is it needed? No. Don't let it stop u from getting it tho. It's very powerful and can give u a bit of a scare if ur not used to the dual motor power on it. Steering damper is a must. I will say it's a solid alternative to driving as u can easily be chilling getting to work avoiding traffic and if u need a bit of a boost that dual motor kick is solid. I say go for it but be prepared to do alot of hands on maintenance as from what I've heard alot of places won't work on the scooter. I'm the type to watch videos and use Chatgpt to figure out any issues. But I say go for it. Remember to use the code to get $120 off and make sure it's from aliexpress as that's the cheapest place to get it!
r/ElectricScooters • Thinking of getting an electric scooter for my daily commute, worth it or just hype? ->Totally agree with this. I had a lower watt scooter before and once it hit 20–25mph it felt unstable as hell. That’s basically why I upgraded to the Arwibon 5600W the dual motor setup makes a huge difference in how secure it feels.
