Ausom makes pretty great scooters, I would go with them. I bought one of their basic models for my gf to ride, and its been fantastic. Cost about half what my vsett did, and is nearly the same performance. I got a coupon code from them if you want to use it to save a bit.
Build is pretty standard, not anything out of the ordinary, but not poorly designed, and no weak points. The use a larger frame for an 11in tire scooter, with 10in tires and wheels, instead of making a smaller and weaker frame with 9in tires like many companies do. It also came standard with the nice screen and improved throttle that I had to pay for separately with my $1200 vsett. I cant really tell you about the battery, because it doesnt get ridden often like my main PEVs, its just a weekend cruiser for my GF if she wants to ride with me. It hasn't had any issues or noticeable degradation in the last 6 months
Every scooter has mech brakes, the disks brakes on the ausom are well made, and do their jobs. Some scooters have drum brakes which need less adjustment, but to be honest, those scooters are death traps, and you cant have a dual motor if there's a drum in one wheel. There is no avoiding this, unless you want to buy an electric unicycle, those only use regen to stop. Its small enought to fit in any car trunk, even my larger teverun has fit in every car I have tried. As far as the weight, its manageable, I can deal with my 90lb scooter up a few flights of stairs. You would usually only carry it up stairs or lift it once to put it in a car.
No experience with their support, havent had any issues. I think the apps are worse than useless, all the functionality should be baked into the menus for the scooter. Only thing I use the app for on my teverun is adjusting the LED lights, no way to do that with buttons.
There are much better specced scooters for the money, only reason they sell any is because ESG shills for them. If youre on a budget go for an Ausom scooter, they have the best price to performance/features, they sell a scooter for 600 that will hit 28mph. If you want something high performance get a teverun, the blade gt2 is fantastic, I have 4k miles on mine.
Nice yeah it’ll be good for ya. Still goes 28-31 with single motor I think
Got the single. Already have the Kaabo mkgt so didn't need one that goes 40. Something to replace my Hiboy pro max. Definite upgrade. It's great.
I have a roadrunner and an Ausom. I've had go Trax, I've had a parts bin scooter. Roadrunner is designed in the US and the build quality is superior to any scooter I've had so far. The Ausom is a great scooter. It was $1000 less than the roadrunner and it gets the job done..I have 1200 miles on the roadrunner and I park it for the winter.
I got one...it's a nice mid level scooter. Especially for the price.
Honestly, in the low price category, like under 500 for for name brands. I am a huge ausom guy, but heir scooters are great. Also gotrax GXL2 is good too, lasted me 4 years. Till the tire gave out. And my parents made me toss it away
That's exactly my point. This ausom scooter on a level surface, warm weather, not too windy, and with a moderate rider weight will reach speeds where you'd generally want a steering damper to avoid subtle or catastrophic steering wobbles. But if you stay around 37mph or lower you should be totally safe, with both hands on the bars. I generally see base tier as up to about 20mph, mid tier up to 50mph, and top tier up to or over 70mph, And while faster scooters generally come with more stable construction quality, like weight distribution, suspension, adequate handlebar width, and steering dampers, mid tier is basically the most a normal person would ask for, and so as such your scooter choice is phenomenal and I commend you for it, Because most scooter crashes actually happen on base tier models, and lots of folks posting on here post their gripes about their base tier models, while others never see the need to excel past base tier. Mid tier is super ideal. Good purchase, buddy.
