Ausom - L1 ABE

Ausom's pretty big. Borderline not portable for anyone who actually needs to go into shops with it. L2 Single motor goes 30, but I don't feel the speed so much as I'm conscious of it as a data point when on roads. More of a cruiser than a nippy ride.

I too have a climber as my daily driver scoot. I Picked up an EUC, an Aero, mostly because it's significantly smaller while going the same speed and more, once you become confident enough at handling the fact that you only have one wheel and are reliant on your balance. It'll rip up hills before wind pressure and inclines force me to accelerate slower at 26 MPH, but before that it GOES. It satisfies the "Go faster" itch by virtue of feeling faster and getting more adrenaline going because of the inherent risk involved, it fits in a gym locker, and you can sit on it while it self balances when you go out and have to stop for pedestrian crossings, or are just sitting in line. You probably won't even enjoy going 30 on a scooter, TBH. Used to have an Ausom that could, and it felt more sterile than the climber without the fun factor.

That's not a key factor, as Ausom is a good starter scoot that uses the same setup and doesn't have steering issues. There's actually a few brands that use that exact folding stem setup.

Ausom fudges their numbers more than most. Teverun for example is very close to reality. Really depends on brand, but take the specs from the scooter and run it through a calculator, probably more accurate than the average manufacturer claim

For the price you should check out the Ausom L1 or KuKirin G2! I'd say the L1 has a better frame, better headlight, louder horn and more features such as NFC card locking. The G2 on the other hand is more popular and has better brakes. They're both very good value and have the same exact power, speed and battery capacity. Have fun!

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time contributor. A few weeks ago I pulled the trigger on the Ausom L1. There isn’t a whole lot of anecdotal information about this model, so I wanted to share my experience so far. Build quality is very impressive, especially for the price. The suspension and rugged tires eat up rocks, gravel, cracks, and minor pot holes. It’s a smooth ride pretty everywhere I go! Speed/Acceleration is also fantastic. It has a loose cap of 30mph but I’ve managed 33 on a straight away and downhill - there is no limiter to slow you down. I ride in NYC and I feel very confident in this scooters ability to get up and move with traffic. Range also seems impressive so far! I weigh about 190 and generally cruise around 20-25mph. I’ve gone on rides for up to three hours so far, covering many many miles and have yet to actually kill the battery. This morning, I made a 7.5 mile commute which included hills, questionable terrain, and one bridge to get over into manhattan. My battery readout didn’t seem to notice the trip and I’m still rocking nearly full charge. So yeah - this has been my experience so far! For those looking for a scooter in the $500-600, you really can’t go wrong here. Happy to answer any questions for those who may be curious. Cheers and happy riding!

Hey! So, it's hard to say exactly as I haven't clocked my exact mileage. However, I can say that my roundtrip to work and back is about 16 miles and the scooter handles that easily on a single charge with plenty juie left over afterward (usually 2-3 bars of battery left). Prior to buying the L1, I did some research on realistic range and with my napkin math, I figured I'll end up averaging about 30-35 miles per charge. Just so you know, Ausom measures their range by riding at 10MPH in Eco Mode. And for what its worth, my L1 seems very solid and sturdy. My local e-bike shop even carries brake parts, spare tires, and other replaceable hardware - so I'm not worried about being future-proofed. The L2 is apparently a very awesome ride, so I say go for it!

I would say the acceleration is pretty decent, especially is Race mode. There is also a setting in the P Menu to increase or decrease acceleration that I have not played with yet - I believe it’s set to 3 of 5 by default. As for speed, the fastest I’ve gone so far is about 33 MPH but I ride in NYC so I’m generally not trying to go much faster than 20-25 MPH.

The difference between the two is that the L1 is one motor, while the L2 has two motors. This translates to quit a bit more torque and acceleration but I believe both scooters get about the same mileage at the end of the day. My L1 seems to have a pretty impressive battery. I now have 600+ miles on it and I am consistently getting about 25-30 miles per charge depending on how agrressively I ride. You can't go wrong with either scooter as the L1 still performs great but if the quicker acceleration and torque is worth 150 euros to you then go with the L2.

Got the single. Already have the Kaabo mkgt so didn't need one that goes 40. Something to replace my Hiboy pro max. Definite upgrade. It's great.
