Based on 1 year's data from Feb 15, 2026 How it works
Addendum that even the single motor will get up to reasonable speeds in a hilly zone. But it also feels really dead while doing it.
Ausom's pretty big. Borderline not portable for anyone who actually needs to go into shops with it. L2 Single motor goes 30, but I don't feel the speed so much as I'm conscious of it as a data point when on roads. More of a cruiser than a nippy ride.
I too have a climber as my daily driver scoot. I Picked up an EUC, an Aero, mostly because it's significantly smaller while going the same speed and more, once you become confident enough at handling the fact that you only have one wheel and are reliant on your balance. It'll rip up hills before wind pressure and inclines force me to accelerate slower at 26 MPH, but before that it GOES. It satisfies the "Go faster" itch by virtue of feeling faster and getting more adrenaline going because of the inherent risk involved, it fits in a gym locker, and you can sit on it while it self balances when you go out and have to stop for pedestrian crossings, or are just sitting in line. You probably won't even enjoy going 30 on a scooter, TBH. Used to have an Ausom that could, and it felt more sterile than the climber without the fun factor.
Yeah if you haven’t noticed, this sub is filled to the brim with cringy know it alls, that think their fancy scooter is a lambo. Like 90% of the scooters here are all Chinese crap, and if not Chinese it’s still probably crap. Anyways, sorry for my rant, I think an Ausom L2 max (non dual motor) would suit you nicely. Checks most of your boxes, you’ll certainly get 15 miles real range, probably closer to 30 miles real range at about 25mph. Top speed is 31 mph. Single motor 1000w so it’s not as good as a dual motor in hill climbing but it’ll certainly get the job done. NFC keys, IP54 rating, so not IP66 but still pretty good, should rain no issues, maybe not heavy rain. 10x3 in tubeless tires so you’ll rarely deal with flats. I think you should check it out. [Ausom L2 Max (single motor)](https://ausomstore.com/products/ausom-l2-max-electric-scooter-1?_gl=1*gd4pf7*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuvm9yOO8jgMVLTgIBR3rTDQ_EAAYASAAEgL2UvD_BwE&gbraid=0AAAAAp_Zp0AswNziovyAR-TmIqlrYukWE) It’s regular $899, it’s discounted to $749. Use coupon code GGAUSOM and it’s comes down to $699. They have an L2 dual motor (non max) but it loses a lot of features and has a tiny battery. Check it out just in case.
A more powerful single motor will also do hills. For example the Apollo Explore 2.0 is better up hills than their Go, although speed limited to a lower top speed for some reason (must not want my money). I watched the only video review in existence of the Ausom L2 Max single motor and it slowed from 31 to 20 up a hill, but if you're cruising at 19 ... you just need extra capability. The VMAX VX2 Gear has a geared motor and possibly can outclimb anything, but only goes 19. Also dual motor doesn't really increase maximum incline, watch the ESG hill climb of the Climber on the steepest hill in San Fran, he had to lean forward until his stomach touched the display to keep the front wheel from spinning. Dual motor is is more about getting up normal hills at speed. I don't like the idea of turning off the front motor and just dragging it around, although probably no better dragging around a bigger single motor. A better "feature" is when they have the same big battery in a single motor version, just good luck finding any reviews with the dual version getting all the attention. I don't really look at scooters going towards $2K. Most interested in the bottom end Hiley, Eahora. Also the VX2 Hub, less off road-y but stealthy. Understated looks, Beast mode is hidden and doesn't even show on the display.
I have the single motor. It is “awesome”. Super smooth. Peppy. Range all day long. If you don’t live in a hilly area. You won’t need the second motor.
I bought mine for a range. So if I had a dual motor I would run it as a single to eeek out more miles. I go 20mph up hills. I turned the acceleration up. And it’s peppy.
Nice yeah it’ll be good for ya. Still goes 28-31 with single motor I think
Got the single. Already have the Kaabo mkgt so didn't need one that goes 40. Something to replace my Hiboy pro max. Definite upgrade. It's great.
Bought a Ausom L2 Max a month back. The fact that you can get it for under a grand is mind boggling. I have a Kaabo mantis king gt and I almost like the max as much.
Ausom L2 Max. I weigh 170 and do 30+. Paid 750 for mine and the dual is 899.
I have a l2 max. It’s great with hills hauling my 200lb ass around.
I just dropped an l2 Max going about 8-12mph and it's barely scraped.
It's worth buying but I ended selling it.I never did a max range test but ill say from how much I did ride; You'll get 20 miles going full speed.
Iscooter IS10 is actually awesome. Same range as my L2Max so over 20miles of REAL use range; their “50mile” claim is true in Eco mod though
Something 48v with at least 15ah. Ausom L2 max or kikirin g2 max. I think these are good lightweight scooters that will still have great range and good speed. I think these are good options, coming from someone with a 100lb fork suspension scooter. 48v 2000w hubs aren’t as common but u could probably get a replacement on alibaba or through the seller for around $100
