Ours worked for about 3 minutes and the display quit working and will not turn on anymore.  A couple months now and still no resolution.  Just finger pointing customer service blaming “the factory”.  They said a replacement display will be sent but we still have yet to see that arrive.  Seems like the P1 would be a fun useful scooter, but we can only speculate since Caroma customer service seems to be content jerking us around.

Never did get a replacement. I found a new displayy/throttle hooked it up and it worked, but the scooter was still not fixed. I had planned to find a suitable replacement for the controller but never got the chance because without warning or indication the was anything wrong, she ended our relationship and refuses to communicate with me. So I don't know what happened. Sorry, still very raw... .

I've had mine for a couple of months now and it's performed rather well as I don't have to charge my batteries nearly as frequently just to make the same trip as on my razor scooter in which I barely have enough battery power to complete the return trip. My only complaints are about the display and the cargo basket with this model. The display on the scooter I received doesn't feature a speedometer or odometer and doesn't have the speed selection buttons, instead it just shows a battery power indicator similar to that of my razor scooter. My complaint regarding the cargo basket is that the openings in the basket are a bit too wide and allow smaller items to slip through especially if the terrain you're driving over has a lot of rough spots...just last week I was almost home after a trip from the store only to notice that the items I'd bought had fallen through the openings in the basket and I had to double back along the route to retrieve them. Other than that I'm definitely satisfied with the scooter's performance. I purchased mine via Amazon for around four hundred bucks which was actually about a hundred less than what I paid for my razor scooter a couple of years earlier.

I have the caroma P1 scooter which features front and rear suspension. It's turned out to be a pretty decent product so far with much better range than my ecosmart scooter.

Now I'm having issues with the motor not getting power despite a fully charged battery. It's kinda like the motor is sputtering for lack of a better term even if I lift the rear end off the ground to test it. Sometimes revving to full throttle will get the motor to power up but only for a few seconds and others it simply won't do anything at all. Just yesterday I tried driving to the store on it only to not even get out of my subdivision before having to turn around and walk back to the house and switch to my ecosmart scooter in order to get the trip done. I swear I need a damn car instead of this crap.

I can't do prime shipping myself...last time I ordered something it unknowingly and therefore without my consent switched me over to prime and I was suddenly losing an unexplained amount of money causing me to go broke by the middle of the month and I get just over 600 bucks per month. I suspected the same about the brakes because you definitely have to fine tune the adjustment if it's not set properly at the factory. I assume that on my ecosmart the weight distribution is higher in the back because of the external motor being attached to the right side but the caroma scooters appear to have a direct drive hub mounted motor vs the ecosmart with it's chain driven external motor. This would also probably make removal of the rear wheel far easier if you had to change a punctured inner tube as well as a reduction in overall weight.

The razor pocket mod isn't really designed as a serious scooter (I have one myself) and doesn't have anywhere near that battery range. My other razor scooter, the ecosmart metro is slightly faster with variable speed throttle but once again lacks the range....my caroma P1 has better range but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for a child that age.

r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->

I have the razor pocket mod myself and can't even drive it without crashing hence the reason for purchasing a razor ecosmart metro which i can drive safely but doesn't have the range so I purchased the caroma P1 scooter which has better range by comparison...unfortunately the motor on mine all of a sudden refuses to run despite being fully charged so it looks like it's back to the ecosmart metro for me.

i have the p1 and it doesn't even go 4 miles before it dies and it will not go up hill even if it is less than a degree slope today is the last day to return it but they told me they'd send a new one by i have to record myself cutting all of the cables which i think is odd.
