You want an E-TWOW GT Sport. 30 lbs, 22 mile range, 30 mph, made for city commuting. I have one and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made, I have over 5000 miles in just a couple years. Basically zero maintenance. It’s $799, but it’s well worth it.
They’re not for my size or use case. With that said, plenty of people want a light commuter. I would suggest some suspension on cobblestone. How long are we talking for the length of the cobblestone road? Is there another way around? But yeah the KQI air is a strong contender in the lightweight dept. The KQI 100p is significantly cheaper, has front suspension, and comes with a folding variant and they weigh in around 38lbs I would recommend the E-twow GT sport, but solid tires. I believe it has basic front and rear suspension. But again solid tires lol. It’s like 30lbs
Honestly the E-twow GT Sport became my holy grail and I've used it almost exclusively for the past 3 years. They are perfect balance of speed and being incredibly light and easy to foldup and carry. I do not mind the tradeoff of solid tires and a bumpier ride (im usually on-road anyway) to not deal with replacing flat tubes/tires. Would prefer them with air though for sure, plus their smaller than Id like but that comes with the small and light form factor
Etwow gts/x all the way. Put 6k km on aprevious model the 36v one, without ever having to do any maintenance. Yes that’s right not even having to tighten screws. Fabulous realiability. Onto the 48v samsung battery one nowadays, 40 km range with speed cap at 25. These boys are tank like built. Expensive but yiu get your money’s worth !

I dunno, I have the Air X and it's pretty good. Actually it climbs like the Etwow GTS. And I always turn and take a last look at it after parking, so that's gotta be something ....
tires have so little traction in rain that the electric brake locks up the front tire lol, so yeah this thing isn't meant as a daily scooter really, i only ride mine when its really nice weather outside
well the design has been kept the same since like 2012 when the first et-wow released
op said they don't really ride in the rain, if they dont, then it is perfect for them, the solid tires are fine as it has suspension
yeah i suppose, never had this issue but then again i put in insane amounts of effort to avoid any water when im riding that thing, would definitely not want to own it as my only vehicle
im like 55kg, my etwow gts does go up to 52kmh quite easily
Apart from the speed, the Etwow GT Sport fits this to a T. And it beats the weight criterion by a massive margin. With speed controls removed, it can even clock 28-30 mph on flats, and the ~50% reduction in weight at 29 lbs. more than makes up for the marginal speed compromise, IMO.
I always get mine as etwow from ewheels
I never use the e-brake on this. The drum brake is amazing and far better at precision stops. The sliding in slick consitions is definitely an issue though, but that's an edge use case, as you probably don't want to be getting wet to begin with.
Weight is the main factor in achieving last-mile commuting. I had the ETOW GT Sport; it was capable due to its speed-to-weight ratio. Then I found the AON Glide scooter; it is basically an upgrade to the UScooters/etwow build and performance level. It's just about 31 lbs, 25.5 max mph, better folding latch, wider safer folding bars. Stem/Bar light and headlight. Single brake lever for both drum and electronic braking. I added modded hammock straps as a shoulder strap to help navigate the subway stairs and elevator and escalator route underground, during rush hour madness. The after-sales support was amazing, they do care about your satisfaction with the product. Check out YouTube for insight.
I've been using my E-Twow GT Sport for the last three years doing just as you anticipate. It's light and small, with decent suspension and a decent ride. Solid tires aren't great in the rain, so if the weather is really bad, I walk or take the subway after getting off the train. After 3 years it's starting to show some wear, so I recently ordered an Aon Glide, although I haven't yet received it. Both are worth checking out for your use case.
I've got about 35 miles on it so far. At some point I'll post a comparison. Briefly, it's a little bigger with wider handlebars, but weight is about the same. I tend to prefer the narrower handlebars, as it feels more nimble when I occasionally jump onto the sidewalk due to traffic conditions. Narrower handlebars make it easier to move amongst pedestrians. Although, it's possible I'm just not fully used to the Aon yet. The GT Sport probably has a slightly smoother ride, as it has rear suspension, with both having front suspension. The Aon is about 1-2 mph faster, although the GT Sport seems to be a little quicker getting up to speed from a full stop. The Aon definitely has more and better lighting. I had to add a headlight to the GT Sport. Probably the biggest difference is that the Aon is IP65 rated, while the GT Sport has no rating. This makes a difference as a last-mile commuter scooter, as one never knows when a rainstorm will pop up.
I have an E-Twow GT sport. I just took a flyer, ordering an Aon Glide. Haven't received it yet. I'll post about when I get it. Take a look at both of those.
Here in the US I bought mine from a US dealer U-Scooters. Never any issues with mine in the 3 years I've had it, or with customer service. A co-worker of mine also bought one and it came with a defective charger, which they replaced. Your correct in that the solid tires, while meaning no flats and less maintenance, are not good in the rain.
I have the Aon Glide and an E-Twow GT Sport. I actually prefer the E-Twow. About the same weight. The Glide is bigger and a touch faster (I can hit 26 mph vs. 24 on the E-Twow). It also has wider handlebars, if that's something you prefer. I think the E-Twow has a better ride with the dual suspension, and it's a little quicker to get going.
Look into etwow gt2 . Fast and light. Only downside is smaller wheels.
Yes, but as far as I’m concerned, **weight is a spec**. You might not care about it, but it’s still a spec. If you buy a bike, you can easily pay twice as much just to save 1 kg, so I don’t see why it should be any different for a scooter. That’s why, in my opinion, it really deserves a super positive rating. Of course, someone else might prefer speed, power or other specs—but those can also be irrelevant depending on the use case. For example, what’s the point of extra power if you live in a country where the law limits you to 20 km/h, and in a flat city where there aren’t even any hills? The only Air real drawback, in my view, is that people who look for light weight usually also care about portability—for instance, if they take the train/metro and bring the scooter along. The Air is easy to carry, but in a crowded train it’s still bulky. Same thing if you go on holiday by car: it takes up a lot of space in the trunk. The situation could already improve a lot if they made a version with a foldable handlebar (that is very large). Let’s see what happens in version 2.
I actually own both the Air and an E-Twow. In every respect I find the Air better: comfort, safety, braking; plus it has a much stronger light which is really useful for riding at night, and the turn signals are a big help too. The E-Twow, however, has one huge drawback: the solid tires. Sure, they protect you from flats, but they slip on wet asphalt like a bar of soap. That said, the E-Twow does keep one real advantage: it’s much smaller (deck, wheels, but especially the foldable handlebar). Both are light enough to carry up to a third floor, so that’s not really an issue. But you really notice the size difference if you plan to use the train (or subway): you can put the E-Twow under a seat or in the luggage rack, while with the Air on a crowded subway… good luck. Same thing if you go to a restaurant – the E-Twow fits discreetly under a table. I’ve even taken it into places where scooters aren’t usually allowed, just by using its folding carrying bag: it looks like a sports bag, and nobody complains. Same story when traveling by car – the Air takes up the whole trunk. That’s why, after buying the Air, I didn’t sell the E-Twow. I use the Air 95% of the time, but that remaining 5% (when I need to take a train) I prefer the E-Twow… just hoping it doesn’t rain.
