I have that scooter in my fleet too. It's light, handy, and cheap. I get it. Unfortunately, most budget scooters, including this model, list a max weight of 220lb, and their smaller frames are for people with smaller frames. If you can expand your budget another $100, you should be able to find a deal on something that better suits you. NIU KQi2 Pro would be a good option. It can be had for $299 on sale, but I feel like I've seen it as low as $250. It hauled my fat ass around really well until I upgraded last year.
I own a gotrax rival from Walmart, it's a reliable lil scoot for my short distance rides and some moderate road usage on the river/beach side. I also got a mount on my ebike for the scooter now as well for longer range overall.
Both my gotrax Rival and GX1
I used to ride a GOTRAX commuter scooter every day, and the biggest problem was how fast everything started rattling and getting loose. The folding mechanism got wobbly pretty quick, and the ride just got rougher and rougher the more I used it. For like casual weekend rides it's totally fine, but for actually commuting on it daily? It didn't hold up nearly as well as I was hoping. The cheap price is why people go for them, but the tradeoff is you end up spending way more time fixing stuff than you really want to !!!
Honestly, a lightweight used regular old bike. Second would be a lighter e-scooter. I had a POS over priced go tracks that was way top heavy.. But it made it the mile to my bus more enjoyable. Bought it during covid, but even with the higher prices and less choices, I got 1,000 miles out of it. Had to carry to the second story for over a year..
Extremely cheap and "higher quality" do not got together here...but for 2.5 miles if you spend $500 you will be all set. Avoid the parts bin temu/amazon crap. It will not last. NIU or ninebot or navee. Either one will be fine for a rather short ride. My job is 6 miles away. At one point I had a go trax and I could get there in like 18 min....i do not recommend go trax though. You best bet is one the "N" brands.
