HiBoy KS4 Pro for $400, or HiBoy S2 for $300 with less range.
My daughter uses the S2 at college and it’s been great for her, but she only rides a few miles per day so range isn’t super important for her. But she goes days in between charging it.
I use the KS4 Pro myself and I’ve been happy with it though with me being 230 pounds I don’t get terrific range out of it, especially if I’m riding up hills frequently.
I have a GoTrax APEX MAX that has been awesome, and is currently on sale for $275 at Walmart. I also have a HiBoy S2 that is around the same price at BestBuy. Either scooter would be great for a 14 year old.
Both of those scooters have basically the same specs as what you posted a picture of.
No problem, been using both of them for about a year without any problems. My daughter at college took the HiBoy S2 with her and she uses it to get from her apartment to around campus. I weigh 225 pounds and both the S2 and Apex MAX work well for me as well, though at my weight they don’t do very well on steep hills. But my 11 year old son has been riding the Apex MAX since last Christmas and he loves it.
One other thing they both have in common, along with the one you pictured in your post, is solid tires. I personally specifically picked scooters with solid tires instead of pneumatic air filled tires because the solid tires won’t pop. When the pneumatic tires pop it can be a total pain in the ass to fix. Solid tires are a bumpier ride, but to me the trade off is well worth it to not have to deal with flat tires.
A couple last things I’ll mention about the HiBoy S2 and Gotrax Apex MAX are the following.
Lighting - The S2 has an awesome lighting system with red LED lights on the side in addition to headlight and taillight. Looks super cool at night (see pictures in reviews on BestBuy’s website). The Apex Max only has a headlight and taillight.
Mileage counter - the S2 doesn’t keep track of the miles you’ve ridden, while the APEX MAX keeps track of the current ride distance as well as total miles. We’ve ridden our Apex Max a total of 475 miles in the last year according to its counter.
Battery life - the Apex Max seems to get better battery life with me riding it compared to the S2, but they are both more than adequate.
Quite a few choices under $500. Start with BestBuy and Walmart. I’d suggest something with at least 350 watt motor.
I ride scooters with my 11 year old son, and my daughter has one at college. Here are what we have and they’re all good as far as we’re concerned. My son and I have ridden 400-500 miles according to the odometer on the Apex Max.

One thing I’ll note is that all three have solid/honeycomb tires, and I actually prefer it that way. It’s been awesome not having to deal with popped tires. Also, if a scooter got stolen or vandalized I won’t feel as bad compared to if I had bought more expensive ones.
You can get the HiBoy S2 from Best Buy for about $300. Not sure if it fits the cute definition, but the red sidelights make it look pretty awesome in the dark.

My S2 still has everything intact after about a year of use. I’m glad it has solid tires, I briefly had a different scooter with pneumatic tires and the rear tire popped after riding it less than 30 miles and it was going to be a nightmare to replace. I’ve got 3 scooters now (counting the HiBoy S2) and they all have solid tires and it’s been great not having to deal with popped tires.

I also have a Hiboy S2. It’s the newest one with the front regen brake and rear disc. I think it’s cute, and very importantly it’s LIGHT at 30 pounds. I don’t think you’ll get a faster scooter for such a light weight especially at the price.

It’s the S2 model
I’m probably gonna get some hate for this but a Hiboy s2 for $300 will accomplish your job, get it at Best Buy with the geek squad warranty and don’t worry about it, just take it in if it has issues. A few of us use them all over base and only have had issues with rear wheels loosening up over time and one big boy broke a rear wheel flying over the crane tracks by just popping the front wheel up a bit, which we all do all the time( but he was about 380 at the time)If you want a little more power or bigger scooter the ks4 pro is worth the price difference to me, more range and a bit more power. I’ve used mines to commute to and from work (14 miles each way and some hills) I can leave it in sport and make it to work no problem (mostly downhill) charge it then take it home but have to use eco mode or end up in low battery limp mode for the last mile (flat) but she makes it. The size doesn’t seem like much but makes it quite a bit more inconvenient to put in the trunk of the Vette or the extra cab on my s10. I’ve had my S2 going on 3 years and my ks4 for about 18 months.
I have a Hiboy s2 and ks4 pro. The pro is worth the price difference if you’re gonna do long rides. 10-15 miles will likely tap out the s2 battery unless it’s totally flat and maybe you cut the top speed. My ks4 does my 14 mile trip to work, at full speed with several quite steep hills and gets there with 1-2 bars left. I’m about 185 pounds plus maybe 10 more pounds in my backpack. One hill is 6mph going up on the ks4. The s2 cannot even carry me up that hill and i have to kick. The ks4 also has bigger tires, so it’s much smoother, and it rattles less and feels a bit less janky.
That being said I still use the s2 around base while I charge the ks4 for the ride home. It’s lighter, much smaller and goes into trunks and cars much easier when transporting. I ended up with both as I needed an upgrade when I figured out I could take it to work, the s2 can make it to work with more downhills but cannot make the ride home.
