I just upgraded after riding the Inmotion climber for 200 miles. Switched to the Ausom L2 max dual motor. I really liked the climber but the 14-18 mile range and no suspension gave me a little anxiety. I've put about 60 miles on the L2 and its been excellent so far!

Super new here but been lurking and researching reviews for weeks before finally pulling the trigger on the Climber! Been out and about today beautiful 75°F pnw weather did about 13.5 miles. This was my 3rd or 4th pick over all the models I've been looking at. Super happy with the performance so far, however I think I want dual shocks and may return it for something a little more robust but not much bigger. My city allows pev's up to 25mph on the sidewalks so I was also considering the Ausom L1/L2, NIU 300X, and Kukirirn G2 Max/G2 Master(tho bulky and super fast). I think the kukirirn will be too big for my use as I don't want to hog the whole lane. I'm open to suggestions though! Thumb and finger throttle is best for me, I can increase my budget up to about $1k. We have some descent hills in my town, and also some light off road trails that are mostly hard pack I'd like to rip on once I get some more rugged safety gear. I have a bike helmet, but will be buying a downhill MTB helmet next week. Comments and recommendations are welcome! Thanks for reading!

I've had my climber for about three weeks and nearly 200 miles on the clock so far. It's my first escoot and it's been pretty great, but like many I wish it had suspension and a bit bigger battery. If I go easy on the throttle I can do around 20+ miles, but at full speed its 15 miles max range on mostly flat bike trails. Hills? What freaking hills?! I live in the PNW and the Climber does all the hills around here 16-19mph! So I do recommend it for a first scooter if you don't plan on bumpy paths or any sort of off-road. Also I'm 5'10" and around 180-190lbs. With all that said, I'm still in my Amazon return window and my Ausom L2 Max Dual Motor arrives today, any minute now actually! I love the scooter life so much that I didn't want to have to wait for a refund and be scooterless for a week since I've been using to commute a half mile to work. On my off days its nice to run errands and explore, since my car needs some repair work this has helped me a lot! I'm definitely a bit upset I didn't buy a scooter years ago, but very happy you get so much for your money's worth now!

Last night I did 5 miles with the ootb charge on the ausom l2 max. Just getting used to the suspension and acceleration. Also adjusting handlebars and instruments making it more comfortable. I'll say the Climber is more nimble and stiff. Almost easier to be confident early on. However its top speed of 20-22mph in sport mode is a big drawback on residential roads. I'd frequently use the sidewalks just because I couldn't keep up with traffic. Luckily we have lots of bike paths here. However, this Ausom scooter is fast! All the sewer covers, and water main covers that I had to avoid before? They barely exist with dual suspension. Surreal how soft it is. If you're serious about commuting you need suspension! Coming back from the river tonight I had no problems on the residential streets. Keeping up with traffic on 25-30mph roads was smooth. Last week I was super worried about being over taken by traffic, tonight it was super easy to keep up. https://preview.redd.it/ak4u24uh99nf1.jpeg?width=2021&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5e925e745be67ee5cb418e0a77d850b74182d5e

I bought an inmotion climber recently in San Francisco, so far it has handled all the hills I've taken it up, though it will slow down quite a bit on steeper ones (~25%+ grade). The lack of a suspension is a bummer of bad roads, but I've had no other complaints so far! Had it for a couple months now.

It really depends on if you want to go fast, commute, go up flight of stairs, need to do lot of miles... As a big rider too I just bought the inmotion climber, relatively fast, very light, dual motor so it carry me up hill. But not a big battery and it doesn't have suspension.

Climber gud. Im sitting in a drink shop right now as i type this. Small enough to stash under a 2 person table. 18 mile real range while going fast when its possible and appropriate to do so.  Brakes are weaker than a full on disc setup on each wheel. Drive like you value your life and youll probably be fine. had to tighten mine so that i get more bite sooner, came out of the box squishier and wanting me to really press the whole handle.

About 100 miles in, pulling the steering column up when going over mild bumps so it doesn't slam directly into them. No stem issues. It will start to lose acceleration, but maintain the ability to keep you at the rated maximum speed at around half battery.

i completely agree, the climber is the first scooter i’ve had in my journey where i think the watt numbers are a scam and probably has a lot of bought reviews. its built sturdy upo first pickup but is riddled with fault pieces inside and also is extremely slow and can barely climb hills like advertised

For me yeah cuz I bought it from amazon but it honestly has too many issues for me to consider buying another or getting a replacement, first and foremost being that it sucks fat donkey ass at climbing hills unlike what is advertised, i have now educated myself on batteries and watts and all that so i can prevent this issue again

Inmotion Climber is in your price range, and has relatively decent support. As another said, the Segway Max G3 is pretty good as well. [Decent](https://youtu.be/U284wt6aKzQ?si=79zQoG23TrOfifv-) scooters with decent rep that’ll do what you need for your commute. The former didn’t have suspension and is a tad bit slower, but has dual motors for zippiness. The latter has a single rear motor but it’s way stronger, and bigger tires with suspension and a lot of other goodies Me personally, I’m extra af so I have dual 1000w motors for my 6’5 225 frame. Don’t expect the fastest hill climbing ability, but they’ll get the job done.

mine hasn't. the only issue i have with the inmotion climber i have owned for 7 weeks now is its (lack of) speed. i can't even get it to hit even a crappy 22 mph yet even going downhill on a full charge. this despite it only weighing just 47lbs, it having 1500w peak power, it being dual motor, me weighing ~140lbs. smh unbelievable. i'm seeing single motor scooters do up near 30! needless to say i wanna sell it.

well to be fair and honest i haven't had structural with it at all. and it HAS climbed hills surprisingly and dependably well. and it has come in VERY handy and really has done what it's supposed to do. it's just inexplicably and frustratingly slow for a fairly light scooter with dual motors and considerable peak power. for example the hover 1 journey max is just as fast if not a tad faster despite having less peak power and costing several hundred dollars less. in my recent use of the inmotion climber i have just kept in drive mode instead of sport mode out of frustration because i realize i hit 16 in drive mode anyway so why waste battery by putting it in sport mode just to go a measly 3mph faster. looking at the landscape now, i see there are several 1000w single motor scooters that i SHOULD'VE picked up instead.

For that price, fast probably won't be an option, but a friend of mine recently bought the Inmotion Climber for our hills in San Francisco and he seems to like it. I took it for a test spin and sport mode definitely has a kick. Crazy how much scooter you can get these days for $600. I bought an EcoReco S3 8 years ago for $650 and it wasn't nearly as nice as the Climber. I have no idea how long the sale will be going on for, but at $599, it's a steal for a dual motor escooter with built-in turn signals that does hills. If you want to use my discount code at [www.inmotionworld.com/funcentric](http://www.inmotionworld.com/funcentric), feel free to use my discount code, FUNCENTRIC. It's hard to find a scooter that is reliable on hills. Hills is what kills the battery and will require high specs. The climber can do it. I'm in San Francisco and my friend whom I recommended the Climber to is enjoying it. You won't find a hill climber, dual motor scooter with integrated turn signals with modular design from a reputable company for the current sale price of $699. It was as low as $599 a month ago. Both good prices. A bunch of reason to get the climber, but you want the reasons you don't want a Climber. It does not have suspension. Mechnical brakes - not hydraulic. Slow charging. You're welcome to use my coupon code if you want, FUNCENTRIC [www.inmotionworld.com/funcentric](http://www.inmotionworld.com/funcentric). If you sign up for their emails, I think they're still offering an additional $50 off.

I read the whole thing. I’ve been recommending the Inmotion climber to some folks that I’d feel it would be a good match. Reasons not to get it is if you plan on using just the stock charger and are not okay with the slow charging. It charges at low amps likely to keep the battery in good condition. As you noted, it doesn’t have suspension but that doesn’t matter to you. It’s a dual motor scooter and currently the best value for one and will handle great for someone your weight. Great too that it’s from a reputable company. I paid more for a substantially lower spec scooter 8 years ago. I weigh a bit more and rode my friend’s Climber after he got it per my recommendation. It’s not the fastest scooter but will pick up in acceleration quite quickly in sport mode. If you end up getting this or any other Inmotion product, you’re welcome to use my coupon code for a discount, FUNCENTRIC. I’m pretty sure Inmotion is also still offering $50 off for signing up for their emails. Do that and you’ll get double discounts. So that from www.inmotionworld.com/funcentric and I assume they’ll be sending you the current trim.

The climber has been a very solid scooter so far for me with around 100 miles on it, but I believe the motors are rated at 450w nominal voltage, each. I avoid using max voltage ratings when describing scooters, it can get confusing. I'm a big guy and it gets me around great. A little bit slow on hills but it does get me to the top.

I mean, for as exposed as you are its still not fast enough? Trust me I am all about speed and build motorcycles but on such a small platform I am not sure I would really want to go much faster. I could agree maybe like 5 MPH or so... Problem is when you start running over potholes and roads that are a bit rough.

How far would you be riding on the train? I've had my Climber for almost a year and you and I are no shit the same size! lol. It would really depend on how much space you have on your commute, even folded its a pretty robust scooter that can even be awkward when negotiating doors and passageways, escalators would be a real fun challenge. If you can ride that bad boy clear to your office, seriously man it rolls! Crushes hills and has awesome pickup. If that is not an option, what I would do Is try to commute during an off time when there is no rush out etc... see if it's feasible. I am in the DC metro area and the bus and trains probably wouldn't let me on during peak traffic, just too congested. There are a few variables that would help me get a better idea... Just think that its 45lbs, awkward to carry, not heavy at first but if you lug it long enough it gets heavy etc.. .

Cool scooter, good luck getting replacement parts that match if your in the US. Its the unfortunate reality with a lot of these imported scooters—great on paper, but an absolute nightmare when it comes to repairs and parts. Companies like Ailen Rides (and a bunch of other resellers) are quick to take your money but don't want to back up their products when things go wrong. "Normal wear and tear" is their go-to excuse to avoid warranty claims.

Damn! I must have gotten one from the good batch! Mine is coming up on a year old and full throttle in Sport Mode requires a bit of a forward stance and good grip on the handle bars. I haven't really tried any other scooters, other than rentals, the take off impressed me. I want to say I remember hearing something about a software update of some sorts, Id also make sure that you are not in the "European mode" ; they have a cap on the speed limit for these that is significantly less than in the US. I'm sure though, regardless of where you are in the world it can easily be bypassed.

I weigh about 320, and the climber has a nice 4-5 mile (hilly) range for me - it's worked well since I got it in November as a "last mile" service before and after the bus or train. I will say, I straight up hate having to change the tires or tubes - it's a whole production - but the ride is smooth on streets and sidewalks even without massive suspension.

To let you both know - I've owned mine about a year, and I'm just a bit heavier than y'all, and using it for this purpose, and it's a dream. My only complaints are that the handles don't fold, so you've got to be good at angling it if there's a packed train or bus, and that it turns quickly into a brick in cold weather - other scooters have better cold protection, but this one does not love the cold. Great in rain, great in wind, good stopping, amazing at hills.

You will probably have to pay atleast 300-400 for a scooter that would do what you need. Depending on rider weight. You CAN find something used, and there are Amazon or aliexpress scooters in that range but beware, they can be dangerous when off brand or knockoff. I’d seriously recommend finding funds for an INMOTION climber. They are 600. I have one, my brother has one. I got 19 miles of range at 260lbs of weight.
