A 3k budget leaves you with many options. The Nami Burn-E would probably be my top choice. I have an RS Lite that I scored for under $2300 and it's a beast. I weigh 265 and have gotten it up to 52mph according to the speedo, but im sure it's not totally accurate. Probably actually 45-47mph.
The RS is not a true dual stem scooter the same way the Kaabo wolf series are. The "dual" stem becomes 1 at the point of attachment to the wheel. It doesn't provide the same stability as a true dual stem that attaches on each side of the wheel. I have an RS lite and I like it a lot, but the way they (and other companies) do the fake dual stem is usually just a marketing gimmick. In the case of the RS, it may have been so they can fit that electronic horn box assembly in between the two uprights.
Maybe the gspace mars eco or for a bit more you can get the inmotion rs lite. I know everyone talks about battery and power and ignore everything else but this 2 brands are my top choices for sure. Good quality, easy to get replacement parts, suspension better than any other scooter, very good 3mm brakes and the best ebrakes, good high speed stability even without a damper, responsive throttle, good headlights/turn signals, and customer service that actually replies.
Burn E or Inmotion RS Lite are the best imo. You'd be happy with either.
Love my GT2 - you will almost assuredly be happy with it. Also consider the Inmotion RS Lite or it's brethren and the Nami Burn-e.
Apollo makes trash scooters. The inmotion RS is decent, but they put the kick stand in the wrong spot, if you actually lean hard in a turn you can catch the kick stand on pavment. I would get a teverun fighter supreme ultra instead of the RS.
I have a Punk Rider Pro, as well as an Inmotion RS. The RS doesn't fit the budget (or the weight) but I was around 270 and rode my Punk Rider Pro just fine, and it was pretty easy for me to move it up a flight of stairs into my apartment (weighes about 70lbs). Unless you have to go up like 10 flights of stairs I think you can pretty easily move it in it's folded position. With your weight on the Punk Rider I think 20 miles roundtrip is definitely doable, especially if you can charge it where you're going to. And if you're riding at night the light is actually pretty sick. The headlights suck so definitely get some aftermarket ones and some mirrors.
In motion all,day everyday. Realize it’s a big heavier scooter so if you aren’t having to,fold and carry regularly it’s the scooter to purchase IMO.
Well put it this way, besides the probably big weight and size difference, you can always power down the RS, can’t power up the phantom. I use my big ass Burn E as my everyday scooter. I tried using the Vsett I bought for my gf, but yeah the power isn’t there, plus she has the acceleration turned down a bit. Like 3/5. So I don’t feel comfortable getting a good lead in front of traffic. Of course when it’s gets up to speed it’s not issue. No customizable modes so I’d have to go in the p setting every time to change it. Sure, it’s easier to whip around… but that’s about it. I will lug my scooter everywhere because I can switch from granny mode to balls to the wall in two button presses, with my regular riding mode dead smack in the middle. 52v vs 72v is no joke. I’d go with the RS and call it a day. With all of that said, unless you’re dealing with stairs, the widest part on scooters is the handlebars, you can always put it on the lowest mode if you need to walk with it. Also: being able to adjust the ride height on the RS makes a huge difference. With the stem *and* the deck. Also also: had no idea the 52v phantom is just as heavy as my 72v burn e (102lbs), just about the same top speed as well. So weight is out the window
Don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty sure the Phantom has its own customization going on where my issue isn’t an issue on that scooter. And the phantom is way stronger than the Vsett. I was just speaking from my experience. It’s really about what controller and motor is packing. But all in all a 72v scooter like the RS is a very different experience power wise than the Phantom. I personally rather have the power for when I really wanna get a thrill. Even though my scoot can go up to 45, I’m mostly near 30, but the torque I have at hand is frickin nuts, and that’s just the weaker base model hauling 220lbs. It’s frightening when my girl rides it, she’s like almost 140. The RS has even more torque. If I didn’t hear so many issues coming from it, I’d recommend the RS Jet. Punch in a smaller form factor. It’s so tiny looking
Tell that to my Inmotion RS with the stock steering damper 😅 wobbles appear at a maybe 3/10 severity when they do appear though, really controllable
There's nothing wrong with the RS at all, though. It's tops imo. highway speeds are no issue, and freeway speed, if youre insane can also be done easily. But I live upstairs, and there is no elevator. Wooooo, that was fun the first 3 times. I need to look into yours, and for what it's worth, I've not yet adjusted my steering damper, so the issue can be eliminated
That does change the equation to have a Segway store nearby. If they allow test rides, and you like the scooter in person that's a pretty big advantage. You also shouldn't be getting the run around with any potential warranty issues. GT3 Pro was on my list before I learned of potentially better options. I had GT3 Pro, Inmotion RS, and Apollo Phantom Stellar on my list as desirable scooters around the same price range. After relearning about the GSPACE Mars GT/GTR, and looking into it more, it floated to the top of the list. But if I had a Segway store near me, GT3 Pro would become a competitive candidate again just for the advantages of having a local store/dealer. On the other hand, I'm within driving distance of the Kaabo distributor, and I still wouldn't consider them based on the potential issues with their scooters. So I'd doubly avoid buying a used Kaabo. Also pretty sure the GT3 Pro is 72V.
If you have a substantial budget for an escooter, there are but 2 superior scooters that remain the most stable you can find. Those being the inmotion RS and the GSpace (TeeWing) Mars. Nami by all accounts are supposedly extremely good also, but if I had that sort of a budget, I'd get the inmotion RS (Midnight i think is a revised edition upgrading the controllers that were unreliable) or possibly the inmotion JET (it has a much easier deck height system adjustment mechanism, a really cool feature)
