I'm bigger than you are and live in a hilly area, so I needed to get something that is rated for heavier weight and has dual motors. I settled on the Kaabo Mantis V2 Fluid Edition. It's a 60V 2x1000W that goes about 35mph with me on it over flat pavement. 18Ah battery they say is good for 33mi. I used around 55% after 13 miles the other day averaging about 20mph over hills. I'm 6'1" and 300 lbs. It's rated for something like 265 lbs, but I don't bottom out the suspension and i don't take it off curbs or jumps or anything to put more stress on it. Overall I'm happy with it BUT Fluid FreeRide is the US distributor (if you're in the US) and the Fluid is their exclusive offering. They filed for bankruptcy a few months ago but their store is still open. I read that customer service has tanked recently and shipping can be slow these days. Pay with a real credit card and don't expect them to be there for the full 12 mo warranty. $1,500 use your best judgement.
r/ElectricScooters • Large Rider Seeking E-Scooter ->I use a Kaboo Mantis v2. My commute is, load it in my truck, drive truck to train station, bring it on the train, then ride 1.9 miles in the city and then same thing home.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooters for short commutes that include train and potentially bus ->i’ve had two: kaabo mantis and splach turbo. i would recommend NOT buying off amazon. do your research there if you want, but then go directly to the manufacture site and buy from them. first of all amazon is evil, but second of all, sometimes their second party seller shit is sketchy. you’ll always get more straight forward sales help from the manufacture site. -consider if you’ll be in easy bike lanes most of the time or if your streets are a little rougher (this will help you choose the type of tire and suspension and brakes you need) -consider how long you wanna be able to go without a charge (size of battery you’ll need) -consider if you are gonna have to fold it and pick it up to walk up stairs or carry on public transit (if so, i don’t recommend one that’s over 40 or 50lb… you may think that’s just a dumbbell amount of weight but it’s awkward and annoying and wears you down quick) -consider if you want tube tires, pneumatic tires, or solid tires (google the differences - there have been other posts about this as well) -i also recommend one where the handlebars fold down if you’re gonna be taking it on public transpo -lastly…. consider how much fun you wanna have. cuz tbh my mantis could go up to 40mph and i averaged usually about 30-32 bc that’s where i felt safe in the city but goddamn that shit was fun… my splach averages at 22 and that’s safe and fine and still fast, don’t get me wrong…. but i do miss the thrill) OH AND GET THE WARRANTY - it literally saved my ass with my mantis when something in the steer shaft was buggin and basically got all my money back and got to keep the scooter. hope this helps
r/ElectricScooters • First time looking into E-Scooters, need help and recommendations. ->Xiaomi and Kaabo should have been on the list. My bad. My Xiaomi is 5 years old and still going strong.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Funny that I have owned several kaabos in the past and I still forgot to put it on the list.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->I’m pretty sure a good amount of people will say to put Apollo way lower, even with their newer models. Unagi is too high. I’m not even gonna lie, Unagi is just too high for my personal opinion. I have heard and seen nothing but sheer disappointment from Unagi. The only thing I like about them is that they do have some universal scooter info on their website and they allow people to test scooters first to see how they like them. Kaabo being in the same category as Varla and Gotrax surprises me… either my scooters and Gotrax scooters are better than I thought (I did put 2,045 miles on a Pegasus though, still no issues, 1,000 with V2 and still clear there), or Kaabo isn’t as great as I thought.
r/ElectricScooters • My e-scooter brand ranking of 2024 after riding for 3 years, thoughts? ->The suspension sucks and Kaabo basically makes up excuses to not warranty any failure should you have one. They are ok, but far from the best.
r/ElectricScooters • hands down best e-scooter in the business ->DO NOT GET KAABO IVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH CONTROLLER FAILURES AND THEIR ASS CUSTOMER SERVICE.
r/ElectricScooters • Overwhelmed on Scooter Choices - Please recommend a specific scooter and why ->NAMI, Kaabo, Dualtron and Roadrunner (not that piece of shit D4) just to name a few. If you're looking more at budget scooters, NIU and Segway are about it.
r/ElectricScooters • Chinese vs Non-Chinese Scooters: Seeking Honest Feedback & Insights ->thank you for not including Kaabo in this list of well built and supported scooters
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->that's because kaabos support is trash
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->That's because kaabo isn't actually good and good scooters remind you of that
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->I've had issues with both to be honest
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Ninebot & Kaabo aren't on the list which are the two brands I own.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->I have two kaabos, thinking of buying a Nami next.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->After sales support was non existent in.my experience.
r/ElectricScooters • Do people still buy name brands? ->Kaabo. Didn't want to know about any fault.
