Based on 1 year's data from Feb 25, 2026 How it works
I own a Vmax GT4, and just recently broke 1000 miles on it. It's been a great daily driver. Only maintenece I've had to do is a front wheel bearing replacement, but that was quite cheap and easy to do. Big plus for me is the IPX6 water rating, which has held up without any issues compared to my old Mantis X Plus which died at 300 miles from rain. Build quality is excellent with no wobbles, and I currently avg 31.5miles on a full charge according to my calculations (closer to 28mi in colder weather, and 32-34 in the warmer summer weather). Now I will say that the only downside is the battery indicator doesn't drop below 100% until 52V, or around 80% battery, so you'll always want to use the voltage rather than the battery % for determining range. I also came up with a rough formula to determine true battery usage based on collected data.) That’s what I got earlier this year! The main reason is for climbing hills, and it definitely can.
You're probably gonna have to go up to 60-70 lbs to be honest. I'm around your size and I have a mantis x plus, at about 64 lbs I can carry it up a couple flights of stairs if I have to. It's not a fun time but you'd definitely get used to it as you build up muscle and perfect your technique. I haven't done a range test or anything so you might want to look into that further but if I had to guess I'd say you should be fine.
My Urban has 8.5" tires but has front & rear suspensions. The ride feels different compared to when I had my F3 with 10". The suspension on my Urban is better than the F3 but the 1.5" difference does make a slight difference overall riding on the road. Compare my Urban to the Mantis X Plus and its night and day.
This is pretty much how i use my Mantis X Plus. I get about 20 mi (32 km) on a full charge going full blast 30mph (48kmh). It's a lot more if you are going slower, on eco-mode, etc. Time-wise, in the main city where the speed limit is only 25- 30mph I'm faster than cars in both take off and stopping. It's pretty badass. I have to be careful not to tail gate and stay out of blind spots. There are some days i would like to have an extra 5 or 10 mph for tough spots or main roads. I prefer single lane and back roads. It's also super comfy to ride with the duel suspension. At 64 lbs it's right on verge of being too big and heavy. But I still bring it inside with me most places and carry it up a half a flight of steps every day. If you are on the smaller side or not very strong this might be the deal breaker. They have lighter models as well. I wear full high-vis motorcycle gear, full face helmet, backpack cover, and extra front and rear flashing lights (and people STILL don't see me) I also watched a bunch of high performance scooter and cycle riding, braking, and safety videos and started off slow. Those videos have already saved me a crash. Hope this helps! Stay safe and best of luck!
Can confirm. I crashed my mantis many times and it never broke. Learned all my lessons on that before getting the King GTR which has also held up perfectly. (No crashes)
i’ve had two: kaabo mantis and splach turbo. i would recommend NOT buying off amazon. do your research there if you want, but then go directly to the manufacture site and buy from them. first of all amazon is evil, but second of all, sometimes their second party seller shit is sketchy. you’ll always get more straight forward sales help from the manufacture site. -consider if you’ll be in easy bike lanes most of the time or if your streets are a little rougher (this will help you choose the type of tire and suspension and brakes you need) -consider how long you wanna be able to go without a charge (size of battery you’ll need) -consider if you are gonna have to fold it and pick it up to walk up stairs or carry on public transit (if so, i don’t recommend one that’s over 40 or 50lb… you may think that’s just a dumbbell amount of weight but it’s awkward and annoying and wears you down quick) -consider if you want tube tires, pneumatic tires, or solid tires (google the differences - there have been other posts about this as well) -i also recommend one where the handlebars fold down if you’re gonna be taking it on public transpo -lastly…. consider how much fun you wanna have. cuz tbh my mantis could go up to 40mph and i averaged usually about 30-32 bc that’s where i felt safe in the city but goddamn that shit was fun… my splach averages at 22 and that’s safe and fine and still fast, don’t get me wrong…. but i do miss the thrill) OH AND GET THE WARRANTY - it literally saved my ass with my mantis when something in the steer shaft was buggin and basically got all my money back and got to keep the scooter. hope this helps
I’ve bought a couple of dual motor scooters from AliExpress, and I’ve been really happy with their performance. For a scooter that’s built like a tank, I recommend checking out the Kaabo or Dualtron models—they’ve got awesome power and are tough enough to handle rough roads or off-road trails. Based on your budget, if you’re looking at a scooter around the $300–$600 range, these scooters should be a good fit. I also recommend checking out the reviews and asking the seller directly about customer support and warranty to ensure you’re getting something solid. To make your purchase even better, you can use some of these discount codes: $10 off $69: RDLFK10 $16 off $109: RDLFK16 $30 off $199: RDLFK30 $45 off $299: RDLFK45 $60 off $399: RDLFK60 These will definitely help you save a bit while getting a solid, durable scooter.
Xiaomi and Kaabo should have been on the list. My bad. My Xiaomi is 5 years old and still going strong.
Funny that I have owned several kaabos in the past and I still forgot to put it on the list.
