Personally, I have had very good luck with the KAABO WARRIOR series scooters , they cost a little more but it's worth it for the overall quality / performance / track record the WARRIOR 11 MAX is a good choice , it's a 50 plus mph scooter with pretty good range , they use a high quality LG / SAMSUNG battery , has 11" inch all terrain tubeless tires , detachable plug in motors , adjustable rear suspension , motorcycle grade double forks suspension , these are super reliable , they also have a smaller version thats lighter and much easier to transport called the Warrior X MAX thats under $2000 and goes 44 mph, they have discounts for an extra $50 - $100 off the ability to transport is important if you like take your scooter in your vehicle to different locations. https://preview.redd.it/sb6ji5ej39yf1.png?width=1135&format=png&auto=webp&s=7eb170257f4f7a02ff4b3471f3ef86a545daa88d
only thing that’s an issue is security. no key. no fingerprint scanner. just power on and off. besides that. everything is better than expected. wolf warrior
You could buy 2 wolf warriors for this one and have a backup
Should i buy this scooter? It was recommended to me based on my reqs. I need something to go to work, its about 15km commute total. Roads are dogshit (potholes, a lot of cobblestone, uphill etc.) and i weigh 110kgs, i dont need it to go fast, i'm fine with cruising at 30km/h but ideally it would have at least some pull. Currently have the Mi essentials and everyone told me its a kid's scooter and i am way too big for it (kind of true, although i like its speed its fine would just like more torque... ) Another suggestion was rovoron r7 (iirc) Anyways thanks in advance for any info. I am a total beginner bt the way and the essentials was basically a gift (found it in my neighbours basement and they just gave it to me... ) now i realize i want to actually buy one hence the thread here
Oh i see! This aligns much better with my requirement... i tried wolf warrior and it was too jerky
It was really bad, i would never get used to it, from what i see victor also delivers power similarly to that... i'd love if it were smoother
Play the love of everything stay the hell away from used kaabo scooters. Some of their entry level options like the mantis King were not too bad. But the wolf, King GT and that level were freaking awful. The folding mechanism is ass. And they are a nightmare of electrical gremlins and the warranty support is awful. There’s a reason they were dropped by distributors in North America. So many warranty problems that they would ignore and refuse to honor by sending parts. You’re honestly pretty close to being able to get a Teverun fighter supreme ultra. But unless you really need the 60 amp power battery you would be fine with something like the fighter 11+. Or a more affordable option with a similar top speed would be the blade GT 2. You could get the blade GT2+ if you want the 35ah battery which would be closer to your budget of $2500. Very solidly built. And my favorite thing is that typically the customer support from the distributors or from the brand itself are pretty good. Fairly easy to get parts if you have an issue for some reason.
Any Kaabo former Wolf models now called Warrior and King models with dual front stems that go all the way to the wheel (Not the Inmotion RS which has dual front stems, but don't go to the wheel and they have the C-type front suspension just like most e-scooters) are the safest e-scooters at speeds above 25mph to 30mph because you don't get steering wobbles like with single stem e-scooters which needs a steering damper or two (Looking at you Teverun) if going over 25mph to 30mph. Plus the Kaabo dual stems can take a crash or fall with no problems because they're made of steel and aluminum. The new Kaabo Warrior X Max is the 2025 version of the Kaabo Wolf Warrior X Plus from 2024 which is what I have and it's upgraded with a better rear suspension and a bigger and better battery technology which is UL approved and some other minor features for $1,699 before any coupon code discounts and is perfect for riding in the city. It has a Top Speed of 44mph and gets more mileage than my model since the battery is bigger and has 21700 batteries over 18650 batteries in my WWX+. I ride mine in Philly on the streets with ZERO problems from Police for 11 months.
PLEASE dont buy a cheap chinese ass scooter, buy a used dualtron thunder one or eagle pro or smth, or a lower end kaabo scooter or a nami klima or smth, buy one of those for like 700-1000$, then spend 100 on a good lock and 150 or so on a good helmet, they will all get great range
Hmmm that blue parking sign in the background… Fellow Kiwi? 😆 Love my Kaabo! Did you get yours from Stormrides as well?
You are not the OP? lol. There are a few scooters with a removeable battery, although it seems to be shrinking. And even then the quick release isn't necessarily all that quick. You still need to trust the security in your area though, as even a batteryless scooter is a target for theft. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one of the Kaabo scooters, and the roadrunner scooters. The updated Kaabo no longer has the removeable battery, as that seemed to cause problems (although it seems Kaabos suffer quite a litany of problems). Roadrunner has filed for bankruptcy (and their scooters have their own list of problems), so definitely makes them a wary buy. For the delivery scenario, if you rely on your scooter to make a living, there's a good chance you're going to have more than one scooter, so just go home and swap scooters, and charge up the dead one. Faster and way less fiddly than swapping batteries!
