I have a Kukurin G2 Max and it’s been great, has decent range and goes 35mph with me being 180lbs. Less than half your budget. So i’m sure you can get an even better one. I have about 500 Miles on it with no issues and I ride every day

I commuted from North Central to downtown near daily last Summer. Ride was great in the morning with little to no traffic, the scooter I used could also 'go 40 km/h' but realistically, with my weight and adding lunch, coffee or a laptop/backpack, I was happy going 30 km/h. I had access to a bike cage I was able to lock it in, so I didn't need to worry about taking it in the building (it's since been banned in offices within the building). I was using a kukurin g2 max from Amazon, it was pretty good, but going up the underpass, especially in the morning heading South, going to downtown and possibly hitting the light at Albert and Sask Drive...that wasn't great. I could absolutely get through the turn, loaded, from a standing start, but NOT as fast as other drivers want me to. I would take the pedestrian pass for that turn specifically as it was safer. Is take that turn off on the sidewalk returning North later in the day, but would turn off Albert right after the underpass, not liking how much traffic is usually there on the return trip. I suspect getting a kukurin g2 master would offset that issue with dual 1000w motors, instead of just the rear 1000w g2 max version my wife has. All in all, it was super fun and I really enjoyed doing that. I've since moved so it's not an option any longer.
