Hate ta pull ya off subject, but I've got a lighting also, and was wondering what reliability issues are known to exist? Thanks

Thanks, I need a new controller. I have less than 300 miles on mine. My fault for blown controller. Been riding my other scoots, I think I'll repair it next. I was just wondering what to expect. Tks.

Like a year ago they were selling Bluetran Lightnings for like $1500 with 35ah batteries mine went 50-60 miles per charge without any problems. I currently have 5k miles on it and it's been through rain snow hail floods everything and still works fine. It sucks theyre not made anymore. It was a perfect middle point between cost and quality

I'm heavily considering the Dualtron Thunder 3 as my "forever scooter" im just done buying new scooters every 2 years lol is this a good choice for a scooter that I can expect to ride for 20-30 thousand miles or even more? My current scooter which is a Bluetran Lightning has been so great and is built like a tank but has problems that I know will start to severely affect its reliability once it gets past 5-6k miles and I don't wanna go through the same thing with another scooter lol. TLDR- does anyone have or know anyone who has a ton of miles on their Dualtron Thunder 3? I want one but want to be sure it's reliable.

Sorry I didn't see this comment until just now. My Lightning has been great overall but it does have some issues. Most notably, the suspension has completely stopped working at 4k miles and barely goes up and down at all. Makes a lot of noises especially when turning, very loud clicking that is super obnoxious. I just feel like the chassis itself isn't very high quality and the only reason it hasn't completely broken for me is because 1 I'm so light only 145 lbs and 2 I am really careful about going over bumps or rough roads. If those 2 things weren't true I feel like it would have broken by now.
