You want 12" wheels, 11 if you absolutely must. Dual wheel drive with street tires. Knobby is a little squirrely on streets when turning. I got both my kids this https://www.ebay.com/itm/315618156809?chn=ps&%C2%A7trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A181xTcODUQ4SWiljnZiUX5w6&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=315618156809&targetid=2320093655185&device=m&mktype=pla&googleloc=9006006&poi=&campaignid=21222258394&mkgroupid=164713660992&rlsatarget=pla-2320093655185&abcId=9408285&merchantid=640692443&gad%C2%A7source=1 My scooter isn't finished but I bought an Amazon returned Tifgalop t88 and I'm stuffing a 100v 100a VESC ubox controller in it, Spinny-y2 throttle, and a few of their other parts from sprint trend in it. Hills you shouldn't have issues with. Mountains is where I live and I can do rear wheel ony kids, but dual wheel I got zooming up them. The main thing is going higher voltage, 60v is the bare minimum gateway for a bike or scooter. Higher is always better for a multitude of reasons.

Ready for tmi? December I got my kids a 60v S5 scooter. This isn't the seller but same thing https://www.ebay.com/itm/226265989476 For reference I'm the Appalachian rolling mountains. Some of our hills i don't even attempt with the ebike because the grades are insane. See this nutty chick for an idea of the problematic hills https://www.instagram.com/pittsburghhills her commentary and shock cracks me up. Her voice is a bit pitchy nearing shrill, so drop the volume. The S5 has a good deck size, like the headlight, has great acceleration and torque even in single motor mode, the worst hill I have local it can do in single motor but about half way I'm slow enough to want dual wheel. One of the two I got had a few issues. There's 3 round bulbs in the middle of the headlight and one wasn't working. The front motor wire was zip tied too tight and that broke the internal wire in the cable. Last issue is if you over tighten the right hand control panel, the plastic will crack. That panel is a relay for the same buttons on the edge of the display. The power button you just tap, if you hold for a second when powering on it starts to input the password on screen. Two of our nfc stopped working due to holding them there too soon or maybe I changed their nfc key info somehow. That was with both scooters. You get 3 keys, other two I learned my lesson and tapped power then waited for boot up to use the nfc keys. we didn't read the manual, still haven't, so I might have just reprogrammed them to the wrong password. I got one of them to 45mph before backing off. Wasn't trying a top speed, just felt like going faster than my ebike. If you're not going to be off road in the grass, dirt, or mud a lot, get the knobby tires off. They're not very safe feeling on the road or in corners. PMT tires are the absolute best quality and compound. They're in the $95 range per. The sure rating aka softness of the rubber compound for the stradale is the same I bought for my old sports car see more here https://www.wyrdryds.com/collections/pmt-tires I would also suggest a steering dampener. The seat is cheap, but that's easy to swap. Kids were fine with the seat but not said they got a little uncomfortable on extended rides. I prefer standing. I have a tifgalop t88, my deck is micro sized compared to the S5. I'm currently replacing everything related to electrical other than wheels, battery, Leds, and headlight. The headlight will be replaced with a motorcycle one, just not sure what one yet. From https://spintend.com I bought a 100v 100a vesc controller and heatsink, Ewheel ADC adapter V3, SPIN-Y2 dual way throttle (so I can have variable regen brakes) , two hall sensor cables to pair with the controller, and lights/turn/horn switch controls - this https://spintend.com/collections/remotes-throttles-and-brake-levers/products/ebike-escooter-turn-signal-horn-lights-all-in-one-switch-48v The S5 has that same light control. I'm not a fan of the turn signal buttons, they're a bit stiff due to the rubber over them. I'll probably buy this https://a.co/d/gqUTSBr then upgrade the turn and brake lights to this https://a.co/d/gZB8tWc Also thinking about adding this into the mix, red for back and white for the front. https://a.co/d/g9uvLoo I haven't decided on a screen or just using a secondary phone. My preference is a screen like this https://a.co/d/0z7e2ef then put two cameras into the bar ends left and right as little nubbs for side mirror camera feed. Screen split in 3 sections left/right camera with vesc display in middle. I don't know how to accomplish all of that, without hiring someone. I go into the ebike and scooters planning for the rebuild. Nothing last forever and there is always better items. However not sure I'll be doing much upgrading to the eride pro s 17", whenever I order it. Hopefully this helps and isn't far too much information to digest.
