Been using Navee S65 for about 6 months now and had a Ninebot before that. The ride quality is actually pretty solid - suspension feels comparable and build quality seems decent enough. Where Navee really struggles is in the app department, it's quite clunky compared to Segway's software and customer support is basically non-existent if you run into issues As for market share, I think they might grab some budget-conscious buyers but Segway just has too much brand recognition and better service network
Back when I got my s65 the only way you could pay for parts was a bank wire transfer to Brightway. They since moved on and now you can pay with card. Their CS is actually one of the best in the business, they(brightway) have got a ton of Xiaomi money to play with
I’ve only owned segway and navee brands, both have been good scooters although i do prefer Navee nowadays. Navee GT3 is about as entry level as you can get. I don’t recommend the scooter I own (s65) because it’s not easy to get anymore and it’s few years old, but he would love it. A Full suspension scooter will make his riding safer as well. Anything by Segway, Niu, Navee is going to be pretty reliable for entry level starter scooters (not insanely fast) but depending on your budget you may need something less
There are a lot of factors that affect range, weight is just one of them. I weigh about 195/200lbs and i get approximately 21miles @ 20mph on my navee s65, drops a little during winter but it’s not terribly cold where i live. Bigger battery is always going to give you more range, and whatever the manufacturer claims is the range assume you will get 1/2 to 2/3 of that claimed range, unless you live in the land of Oz 🤭
Im not sure about the legality of that. I do know that on my navee s65 i had to disconnect the motor cable(and break those warranty void stickers) to replace a valve stem because there is simply not enough slack in the cable to do it otherwise. My scooter is out of warranty now.
You’re not bothering me. Ive owned my scooter for a year and a half so im pretty familiar with Navee
Riding it is great, it’s a very fun scooter. the suspension is fabulous and ive heard it’s even better on the ST3. My particular scooter uses a geared motor which produces a lot of torque >40nm so take offs and hill climbing is really good, much more powerful than scooters of the same watts that use brushless motor. The ST3 uses a brushless motor so im not sure how it compares. I had to replace a valve stem at 285miles and my battery at 500miles(i think my battery was going bad from the very beginning), and new disc brake shoes at 1000 miles. Other than that it still looks and rides like the first day I got it. Navee scooters are very high quality. Their CS can be frustrating because its all handled out of China but with persistence you can get what you need. I did 😁
The xiaomi app for the s65 was a really barebones app. The Navee app that superseded it is much better. And CS is way better than 2-3yrs ago, you couldn’t get parts at all. I’ve had my S65 for almost 2yrs, it’s not a superscooter but its a fun and reliable scooter. I did have to replace my battery and I’ve replace my disc brake pads, but everything else is original and I’ve got 1600mi on it
My s65 get 21mi on a full charge @20mph, 98% flat terrain. When I switched from my Segway to my Navee all my range anxiety disappeared. Its a terrible feeling btw 🤭 look for scooters with 48v or higher and 600wh or higher for the best range, and remember the faster you go the faster the battery drain. 20mph to me is a good tradeoff speed
A Rats nest of “fire starter” wires. My S65 is the epitome of good wiring. Its so simple and so organized right from the factory. https://imgur.com/a/CUtzG5E
As long as the batteries are good the 4 ultra is a solid choice and since the battery is bigger it will provide the longest distance. Suspension is really nice too. I have a navee s65 and the 4 ultra is based off the s65 and they are really nice scooters.
I’ve been happy with my 20mph navee for 2yrs, it has just enough oomph to make my rides a little more exciting. My next scooter will do atleast 32mph though, if & when my navee breaks down again
My first two scooters were both $299 segways and they worked out great at the time. My navee was my big purchase at $400, it was originally a $1199 scooter but got big price reductions towards the end of its lifecycle. It definitely was a good deal @ $400 i feel sorry for people paying $400 for a gotrax or m365 junk clone scooters.
Agreed. I had a Navee 1000w and 800w. 1000 is the minimum. I'm 220 lbs and it could barely make it up some hills.
I run an electric repair shop and do sales as well. I actually had a navee rep from china visit to try and stock their stuff. I was displeased with their demo model as the QC was sub par. Stripped and loose bolts. ON THE DEMO MODEL
I have navee and it’s horrible. It doesn’t go even half of the advertised distance (and I am not driving it uphill), charges unreliably, it’s also on the heavier side of what scooters weigh. The app also randomly locks you out..
Both of these are absolute garbage. Get him a niu, ninebot, or navee. The lowest models are around the same price roughly.
Extremely cheap and "higher quality" do not got together here...but for 2.5 miles if you spend $500 you will be all set. Avoid the parts bin temu/amazon crap. It will not last. NIU or ninebot or navee. Either one will be fine for a rather short ride. My job is 6 miles away. At one point I had a go trax and I could get there in like 18 min....i do not recommend go trax though. You best bet is one the "N" brands.
