What do you suggest here : navee st3 pro probably all I "need", but xt5 pro fills more of the "want" category Also open to segway or others, but navee really seems to want me to be their customer Bought a phantom a10 earlier this year and it's "okay", just not enough tourque so barely ever use it

r/ElectricScooters β€’ NAVEE XT5 PRO - REVIEW β†’
3 months ago

Hello!!! Electric Scooters reddit community! Tonight, I am bringing to you a review on the brand new Navee XT5 Series Offroad Electric Scooter. Specifically speaking about the Navee XT5 Pro. I would like to start off by saying that I have owned by this point 3 previous Navee Electric Scooters, started off with the S40 I got second hand, the S65 which was an amazing electric scooter for being about 3 years old, and most recently the ST3 Pro which basically was an S65 but with many great improvements! Aside from that, lets start the review : Aesthethics & Build Quality : The XT5 Pro, in my opinion looks pretty sick! Especially at night time the accent lighting although not being RGB colored, the lighting is sharp. The colors on this scooter just blend in nicely...the black/red/silver. The overall look of this scooter is aggresive & eye catching! Display screen is bright and viewable during the daytime, the headlight at night is bright enough that I do not have to use aftermarket lighting on it. Although, I always recommend for everyone to add more headlights if possible as you can never have enough light when riding around cars! The build quality is what I have come to expect from this brand - based on my previous scooters from them. I received this scooter during the 1st week of November and have been riding this scooter as much as I can after work to go through the paces and I have not had any issues as far as the build goes. The tires have maintained air since the day I got it, suspension has been quiet and I have not heard any squeaks coming from the shocks & swing arms. No wiggle or play in the handle bars/stem since the first ride, I have not had to tighten the screws that hold the handle bars on the stem once. Theres a spot near my house that has an offroad site for mountain bikes/BMX and I have taken the scooter there to ensure it gets it share of offroading and it has done good with no issues. The only thing I did have to adjust out of the box is the front disc brake, assuming it got misaligned during shipping as the box came in pretty mangled due to the carriers handling (FedEx....!!) After adjusting the brake, the slight rubbing of the brake pad on the rotor went away. Power & Speed : The XT5 Pro has 1 single 2200watt (max power) motor, the acceleration on this scooter I would say is a gradual acceleration (not jerky) even in the Sport mode. The scooter does have a built in "Boost" mode that can be activated/deactivated by the "Boost" red button on the control panel - this does increase accelaration which is great for those that want to get up to speed faster. The scooter has a top speed of 31mph, i was able to gps test and get 30mph which matched the display. For reference i weigh 240lbs. The XT5 Pro still manages to reach close to 30 mph (for me even when low on battery - especially with the boost feature, which i find great!!) This scooter has no issues going up the hills around my neighborhood or the ones I have encountered on my rides. Advertised hill climbing for this scooter is 32 degrees, recently there was a firmware update and I did notice it go a bit faster up the hills I frequent. Suspension : Suspension on the XT5 Pro has been great, and even better compared to the ST3 pro I own. I would say the combination of the shocks and swing arm along with the 12 inch wheels, allows it to absorb the majority of the bumps & rocks I have encountered. No issues or breakage or squeaks coming from the suspension. Range : Range! 1 of the main questions when purchasing a scooter! The range on the XT5 Pro, is in part similar to the ST3 Pro. The battery size on this scooter is 12.75ah, & 46 mile advertised range. I can happily say that I can push about 25-30 miles on this scooter with mixed usage ( bike trail speeds, with a few high speed runs to keep up with cars). I would say if not trying to run max speed all the time the range is defintely there or close to it. Take into account I do weigh 240 lbs, as with any scooter a riders weight will always have a huge play on range. The range can be expanded as Navee does offer an external battery that can be purchased separately which offers an additional 597wh (roughly 12.4ah). Technology & Features : Triple Braking System, consisting of dual disc brakes and EABS hub braking (which does get a bit time to get used to, even at the lowest setting). I would of preferred hydraulic brakes but I have not had an issue stopping with the disc brakes and EABS. Accent lighting & Bright headlight with Daytime running lights Handle Bar Turn Signals Auto Unlock - I personally do not use the APP to lock my scooter as I prefer to use a phyical lock, but I do want to say that the "Auto unlock" is a pretty cool feature. Similar to how Apple/Samsung allows you to unlock your phone when your Apple Watch/Galaxy watch is nearby, the same thing is available with this scooter. Traction Control System - Have not tested this out as I have not taken a ride out in the rain, I know the scooter is able to be in the light rain but I prefer not to for safety reasons. Overall : I can say that this scooter is pretty great for Navee's official introduction into the offroad/performance electric scooters section. The acceleration is there if you need it - available at the touch of a button, the regen braking/EABS is helpful. The Speed is not too fast or not too slow, its in the middle - at least for my liking - I own other scooters ( 40 mph & 50 mph ) and I rarely find myself going full speed, unless I am riding with traffic and trying to maintain the flow, but most times it isn't for long periods of time. The new unlock feature is a plus on this scooter, the 12 inch wheels are great compared to Navees other scooters @ 10 inch. The accent lighting is sharp, the build quality is great with no issues there. I find myself riding this scooter more than my others as I find it to be pretty fun to ride! Given it can meet my range requirements and still charge up pretty fast. Pros : 1. Decent Range 2. Decent Speed 3. Option for Boost mode 4. Feature Packed - TCS, Triple Braking System, Proximity Unlock, 12inch tires 5. Suspension 6. Good looking ;) Cons : 1.Retail Price - I do find the starting price to be pretty high vs whats provided but i do understand Navee is striving to be a reliable premium escooter brand, but the price point may limit who may want to purchase this scooter with a highly competitive market out there for the same price point. 2. No Hydraulic Brakes, for price point Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, I am happy to help out! Pictures of the scooter attached, along with screenshot of speed, mileage, and mileage left. (These show the scooter being used in Sport mode, and the Boost function on & off - about 25 mile range in total)

Love it when people say "Chinese garbage" do you know of any scooters made in USA or in whatever country you are in? Pretty sure everything's made in China and some brands even made in the same factory...if you didn't know a lot of the brand/non branded stuff you see in stores..from tools to food are made in the same factories πŸ˜‚ Rant aside, I've had good experiences with Navee and Ausom, recently I bought a non-known scooter from Aliexpress for $490, I've gps tested it at 35mph. So far so good with all my scooters.

Plenty of parts available. The XT5 is very new but they should have parts available pretty quickly. XT5 parts are on page 3 https://naveetech.us/collections/parts?

I run an electric repair shop and do sales as well. I actually had a navee rep from china visit to try and stock their stuff. I was displeased with their demo model as the QC was sub par. Stripped and loose bolts. ON THE DEMO MODEL

I have navee and it’s horrible. It doesn’t go even half of the advertised distance (and I am not driving it uphill), charges unreliably, it’s also on the heavier side of what scooters weigh. The app also randomly locks you out..

Both of these are absolute garbage. Get him a niu, ninebot, or navee. The lowest models are around the same price roughly.

Extremely cheap and "higher quality" do not got together here...but for 2.5 miles if you spend $500 you will be all set. Avoid the parts bin temu/amazon crap. It will not last. NIU or ninebot or navee. Either one will be fine for a rather short ride. My job is 6 miles away. At one point I had a go trax and I could get there in like 18 min....i do not recommend go trax though. You best bet is one the "N" brands.

If it doesn't explode the 1st time you plug it in to charge, for $150 this will be a steal. If you buy this with $150 expectations, I'm sure it will be a super scooter. A replacement TFT screen for my scooter alone costs as much as 2 of these. And while I'm sure it's sloooow, even a slow scooter will still be 5x plus faster than a person can walk. My last scooter broke and I was stuck walking until I got a new one. It's 1.5 miles to the nearest grocery store. I'd have loved a scooter like this over those 3 mile walks to get food lol.

Navee is good and quite bang for the buck. Having the s60 myself. Good for city driving and has good suspension.

I’ve had both, Segway is better quality hands down. Navee is still good though.

I run an E-scooter comparison site in Germany and have analyzed both brands extensively: \*\*Ride Quality:\*\* \- Segway Ninebot (Max G2/G3, ZT3 Pro) has superior suspension and build quality \- Navee is surprisingly solid for the price but feels less refined in turns \- Braking: Segway wins with dual drum/disc combos \*\*Reliability:\*\* \- Segway has years of proven track record and excellent spare parts availability \- Navee is too new to judge long-term, but I've seen some app connectivity issues reported \*\*Germany-specific (since you mentioned Mediamarkt):\*\* \- Both have ABE certification for German streets (20 km/h limit applies) \- Segway warranty/support is established; Navee support can be hit-or-miss \*\*My verdict:\*\* For reliability and resale value, Segway is the safer choice. Navee offers good value if you're on a budget and willing to take a small risk on a newer brand. If you want detailed specs/scores, check my profile - I've tested 29 models with German street approval.
