The folding handlebars are a game changer for transit honestly - I deal with compact storage all the time with my hobby stuff and that extra fold makes a huge difference. For hills on the 100F you can definitely kick-assist but its pretty awkward compared to just walking it up steeper grades If reliability matters more than portability though the thumb throttle setup might be worth prioritizing since you'll be using it way more than folding the thing

I recently went through this. I didn’t want some no-name junk brand with a bunch of made-up sky-high stats that would either begin degrading almost immediately or simply set my garage on fire when it was charging. So I found about three trusted brands on here that seemed the most common. Segway, Niu and HiBoy. I’m sure there are others. Then I chose weight and power vs cost. I didn’t want the fastest or the longest range. The collisions people have on these fast ones can ruin your face. I ended up with the Niu KQI100F and it’s been fine. Get a helmet that protects your chin such as one for downhill mountain biking. Never ever ever ever ride one handed. Cover bare skin. Tuck and roll.

100f is a very well built scooter. I'd really only go that route if you need the extra folding handlebars. Acceleration sucks IMHO, even in sport mode. Sounds like you should save the extra money.

I've been deep in research mode for the past week trying to decide between these two and I'm going in circles. Here's my situation: \*\*My use case:\*\* \- Commuting in AZ — roads are genuinely rough, lots of debris, extreme heat \- 9.4 miles round trip, 4-5x per week (40-50 miles/week) \- Never owned an e-scooter before \- Want something that will last 2+ years of heavy daily use \- Already have FlatOut tire sealant \*\*Why I'm leaning NIU 300P:\*\* \- Front hydraulic suspension — Tucson roads are bad and I'm worried about riding with zero suspension \- Better braking (dual disc, 10.7 ft stopping distance vs 12.6 ft on G30P) \- Larger 10.5" tires \- Higher weight limit (265 vs 220 lbs) \- Zero-start, cruise control, IP55 \- Scored higher on ERideHero's independent testing (56 vs 47) \*\*Why I keep second-guessing myself and looking back at the G30P:\*\* \- 30.3 miles tested real-world range vs 21.4 miles for the 300P — that's a massive gap \- Self-healing tires come factory installed \- The reliability and parts availability track record is unmatched — it's been in production since 2019, millions of units, everything is documented \- If something breaks in year 2-3, fixing a G30P is easy. I don't know if the same is true for the 300P \- $499 vs $559 \*\*My actual concerns:\*\* 1. I've never ridden an e-scooter before. Is the G30P's lack of suspension actually as bad as I'm imagining on rough pavement, or do you adapt quickly? 2. How does the NIU 300P hold up long term? Any reliability issues after heavy use? 3. Is the 9-mile real-world range gap between them actually meaningful when my round trip is only 9.4 miles and both cover it comfortably? 4. For someone doing 40-50 miles a week as a daily commuter, which one is actually going to hold up better over 3 years? For context I already returned a NIU KQi 100F because the real-world range (10-11 miles) didn't match the advertised 17 miles and left me with almost no buffer on my route. So range anxiety is real for me and the G30P's tested range does a lot of heavy lifting psychologically. Anyone who's daily driven either of these in rough conditions — what would you actually do?

Get a niu100p or 100f I can guarantee it'll be more reliable than this

I think it's always better to have more range even if you have to spend hundreds more, never mind $80. And 100F really is not that much range. It \*probably\* will get you through 2 days, but if it's a bit colder it may not get you through 2 days. There's also the Navee V25 also $260. I'd do some research to compare and contrast to the KQI 100F. I really don't know which one is "better" they seem very close contenders. Real world range for 100F is closer to 10 miles, not whatever they claim in their product page.

\-Inmotion Climber \-VMAX VX2 Hub or wait for the new VX2 lite \-NIU KQI 100F/200F/Air \-Ninebot F3 pro High torque scooters with good acceleration is good for city travel to go from one stop to the next. To that end, dual motor scooters like Inmotion Climber or high torque single motor like the VMAX VX2 Hub are more fun and get you through the city faster than weaker ones like the NIU and Ninebot. Suspension is useful if you can't avoid rougher streets or trails. But if your city is well maintained it's not really necessary with 10" pneumatic tires. Weight of the scooter is important if you need to lug it up stairs. But if you don't, it's actually not that necessary to fold the scooter, as it already takes very little space for storage. I hardly ever fold mine as I don't find myself needing to carry it on stairs. Only when I very occasionally put it in my car do I fold it.

Take a look at the NIU KQi100, great option at a budget price. The older NIU KQi2 Pro is also a very solid scooter that is worth considering if you find a good price. If you want more details on the KQi100, I made a video on it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXw7OpEOt64 For the NIU KQi2 I have a whole library of resources that you might find helpful https://www.reddit.com/user/Lantea1/comments/146vxrr/niu_kqi2_pro_electric_kick_scooter_review_guides/

I just want to post my review of this scooter that I believe is the best first scooter that you can get on a budget. I have had this scooter for 10 months now and have put almost 300 miles on it. This is my first scooter and honestly owning a scooter has changed my life. I do all my small grocery shopping, errands and local events on this scooter. This is only possibly because I live in a very urban location right outside of downtown. I use my car for stuff I need to do outside of my neighborhood which is pretty rare. I have saved so much on gas. I am 125 pounds, I ride the scooter at its top speed of 17mph. I typically get 10 miles of range but I can get around 12 if I lower my speed. This is also on the highest acceleration mode you can set in the app and kick to start deactivated. I have noticed very minimal wear, it rattles a little more than when I first got it but besides thatI have had no issues. Also I have had codes thrown at me such as battery overcharge if I go down a steep hill with regen braking on but all I have to do is turn the scooter off and back on. This scooter is very solid for the price. I bought it when it was $400 and do not regret my purchase. It is currently $260 on amazon right now and I think that is such a steal for that price. It has air filled tires and front suspension to help it be a more comfortable ride. Please, if you are getting a scooter for the first time, get one that atleast has front suspension. It has saved me many times when I hit a decent sized pothole when I wasn't paying attention. I absolutely would have crashed if I didn't have the suspension to absorb the potholes. If you have any questions, Id love to answer them. I know how confusing and intimidating it was trying to find my first scooter and I just wanna help others find their first one.

I forgot to mention that my favorite features are the fold down handlebars, it makes it so much easier to transport and helps take up less room in my apartment. Also am in love with the twist throttle, I don't know if I'll ever be able to buy a new one with a thumb throttle. I don't use the turn signals often but it's nice to have. The app is finicky but I appreciate all the customization options and really creating the perfect ride for you. Also you can lock the scooter, the alarm is not really loud but the lights flash if you try to move it and the back wheel locks. There is no way to unlock it unless the thief steals your phone and unlocks it through the app. Even if they called customer service to unlock it, they'd have to provide the vin number and a receipt proving they bought the scooter.

The charger isn't a bad size. It has the little box part on it w the red light when it's charging and green light when it's fully charged. And yes it does take that long to go from dead to full. I just charge mine over night honestly. It has UL certifications for electronics and battery safety.

I just have had a really great experience with this scooter and wanna help other people get their first scooter because this one is really affordable for what u get w how good the sale is rn.
