Are you keeping it outside in Downtown? Because it will be gone in less than a hour, if not 30 minutes no matter how many locks you have on it. Your best option is the NIU KQI 200P though. If you're in the city, never leave it outside. I refuse to go anywhere inside that won't let me bring it inside with me. That's why I usually stay at Ogilvie.

I’ve had both and I’d say getting one depends on your needs. The 100p is great for its $279 price, Solid build quality, and decent looks. I’m 230lbs and the range is abysmal; I’d get around 6-10 miles on a charge on relatively flat terrain. Also it has tube tires which makes it more prone to flat (I got a flat a few days after owning) and returned it. Come the kqi 200p It’s quite faster, looks better, MUCH longer range, and looks better. I’m iffy about the tubeless tires but other than that it’s an all around better scooter. The kqi 200p came with a faster charger and charges a bit faster but is significantly heavier. TL;DR: Get the 100p if you’re lighter and want a well built scooter at a great price and good portability (get the fast charger). Get the 200p if your a heavy weight like me and want a REAL commuter.

They’re built very well I had a kqi100p and returned it for the 200p but both were built very well.

Niu Kqi 100p or 100f (or if the price is right a 200 or 300) and a sticker pack. Just sticker the hell out of it and make it as cute as you like. I wanted a scoot for quick trips (a mile or two tops), and I didn’t want to spend a ton on something I’d use once in a while. Basically I wanted an alternative to rentals, I figured I might as well own one. The Niu scooters kept coming up as one of the only worthwhile options well under $500. There are always open box deals to be had, I scored mine (Kqi 100f) for $240 shipped and it was brand new, hadn’t been out of the box. At full retail, it’s $379 I believe. Decent brand, suspension, 9.5” inflatable tires, 17mph and 18mi range. (The 200 and 300 models are 20mph + 30mi range) That’s all I needed, and at under $300 I’m super happy with it. Doesn’t feel cheap or shoddily built at all imo, Niu makes a bunch of much more expensive scooters and the 100 seems built like just a base model of its pricier siblings.

That is a well written summary. The biggest difference is range and power, and the right choice very much depends on your use case and what range you need for daily commutes and whether there are any hills in your area. Same is true when you go from the KQi200 to KQi300, bit more range and power difference.

I just got the Niu 200 for $349 last week at Best Buy. It's back to $400 now but it does go on sale.

Niu makes great scooters. Kqi 100 or 200 for mid rage budget with decent reliability. Kqi2Pro for better reliability and more range
