Ninebot Gmax1 or niu kqi3pro is your answer. If you can get the G2 or the kqi3max even better. That's all you really ever going to need

I agree. I have the kqi3 max/ pro and I prefer them over my g2max. Better handling and superior breaks beats s suspensions

I understand what you are saying. Suspension is nice to have for sure. And it does make the ride safer. But I really dislike heavy scooters. Kqi3 max is pretty much perfect for me. And based on what I read I still would take it over their new model with the suspension

I would recommend a NIU KQi3 PRO or the max or any of their newer models that are a little bit more expensive but have suspension

NIU KQi3 Pro. It’s on sale for $470 right now, and that’s a crazy good price for this scooter. It goes 20mp/h and it has 31 miles of range (about 18-20 miles real world range at full throttle). Weighs about 45lbs, folds up nicely if you need to carry it or put it in a car. Sold build quality, in fact quite impressive build quality for the price they charge. You honestly won’t do any better than this scooter, specially at its $470 price tag. I’ve taken mine 400 miles so far and all I’ve had to do is keep up with inflating the tires every week, and I had to tighten the front break once just recently, and that was more of a want than a need.

NIU KQi 100P, KQi2 Pro, KQi3 Pro. Pretty much any NIU scooter will be good. I would get something faster than you think you want, and limit the speed in the app so you can grow into it if you get more comfortable with the speed.

I’m not sure it would be able to get up those hills. I don’t know what your budget is, but assuming by the 2 scooter you are looking at, you want something under $500. In this price range, you will not find anything that would be able to climb a hill like that at any reasonable pace (I’d consider reasonable above 10mph). I have a KQi3 Max which is significantly more powerful than tbe kqi2 and even I wouldn’t be going all that fast up a hill of that steepness. You might want to look at the VMAX VX2 Pro, this scooter is very powerful, and is probably the best you can get in that budget.

Oh damn. Yeah I mean if it’s just one hill that is that steep you could get away with a KQi3 max or 300x. They go on sale all the time and do fine on hills. I’m just thinking at 20° that KQi2 will leave you having to kick up the hills. Other than that you won’t do much better until you get into the $1000+ range with dual motors and all that.

That’s still pretty steep, I would still go with a KQi3 pro/max with that. The KQi3 pro I’ve seen go on sale for $470 USD. So that should fit within your price range. I would get the max if you can dish out the extra cash, or if you’re patient enough it goes on sale for about $600 USD often.

I have the KQi3 pro right now, and have a Max shipping to me at this moment because that $599 for the max. I’m excited for the extra speed. Try inflating your tires to 45psi, it makes the ride on sidewalks sooooo much better.

I am 52, live in downtown LA, no car and just recently purchased a Niu KQI3-Pro and love it! It's great for zipping around downtown to run errands or do some shopping. I use it to venture out into surrounding areas of the county for some peace and quiet, to escape the noise and havoc of living in a city. It has truly allowed me to connect with my inner child and gives me some freedom that I didn't have due to fear and anxiety of walking on foot.

I started with a Niu KQI 3 Pro 3 years ago. Rode it for 1700 miles, before I moved on. Now I'm hitting 60mph but I started at 20mph 2 scooters ago. Was a great little workhorse.

IPX4 can handle light rain on short distances, it really depends on how long you plan to ride it in the rain. Ideally you want anything over IP5. I recommend looking into NIU scooters, my old scooter was a NIU KQi3 Pro which had an IPX5 rating and I rode it in the rain many times on the way back from work. Worked fine - depending on your weight it might not handle hills very well but if you live in a flat area it's a great budget scooter.

No that is the older model KQi1. The KQi100P and KQi100F(includes folding handlebars) are the new updated models that now include front suspension, the motor power was boosted from 250w to 300w, etc. Overall just a much better scooter. Not sure when the newer model will be on amazon.de its been out for a few months in the US, and I did see it from one seller in EU. Its still not on the EU NIU website either (https://shopeu.niu.com/) so my guess is they are still getting ready for wider EU availability. The NIU KQi3 Pro is currently on offer for €528 https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0B7P89SPZ/ that is worth considering, or take a look at the NIU KQi2, or slightly more expensive the newer NIU KQi300X https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0DGXLKH31/

> The flammable and explosive nature of batteries poses potential risks during disassembly, especially for individuals lacking professional knowledge and skills. In certain countries you are required by law to sell all spare parts as owners have a right to repair their own scooters. The scooters are perfectly safe to repair by anyone with basic repair skills, since the battery is fully sealed and all the parts are plug and play. The only part that people should not mess with is the battery itself; and Nobody is asking you to sell individual battery cells or the BMS as such repairs should only be done by an experienced battery technician. But removing some screws and replacing a broken controller, a broken throttle or decorative plastic covers can be done by almost anyone with some basic DIY skills. My strong recommendation would be for NIU to sell all spare parts and make spare parts for all KQi scooters easily accessible either directly or through local and online scooter shops.

My current scooter is a KQi3 pro. Very solid scooter, I’ve had it for about 2.5 years. Usually smaller commutes though at full speed. Cons are that it has no suspension, and support isnt the best. It does come with 2 year warranty though. My next scooter is the Segway GT1 because they have great scooters. I think they have one for 900 rn and it looks very solid. Does 12 miles account for there and back?

I respect this take. In the US, however, I feel like the maintenance network isn’t as built out as it needs to be. My previous scooter was the NIU KQi-3 Pro, and even then, I had to drive about 40 minutes to find the nearest repair shop (I live in the Bay Area, California). Even then, to change both tires, they wanted $360!! I tried to see if I could put the scooter towards the purchase of a used scooter in their lot and they didn’t even want it! Lol to your point, also, I love how this scooter essentially exposed an entire company and their BS ‘premium’ pricing techniques. I cant believe I almost pulled the plug on their $3,500 flagship scooter! And being that the price of the PUNK is the same as their entry-level dual motor (which is also sales tax-free!!!), I may pull the plug this weekend.

Grab the KQI 3 Pro while it is on flash sale for $479 on Niu/BestBuy/Amazon. This is the best price I've ever seen on this scooter, barely more than the KQi 2 Pro. The sale ends soon. You won't be getting worthwhile suspension unless you increase your budget to $787 for the KQI 300x (also on flash sale, but ends soon).

The kqi3 pro was my first ever scooter last September. I had no complaints about the app. Found it useful as it logged all my trips when engaged. I'm not sure the features of the sport, but I did need the app to adjust Regen braking, set max speed, and kick to start. Once that is set you don't need your phone anymore. It went 32kmph and only complaint would probably be no suspension. But as someone mentioned you don't need the app to use the scooter unless you use it to lock the scooter. I would definitely recommend it as your first scooter. It's also a sharper looking scooter than a comparable segway. I got alot of compliments on it.

Niu is still an amazing scooter. I have the kqi3 pro with almost 1000 miles on it and I love it. Kind of wish I got the max since my route to work is a little hilly but the kqi3 pro has been a beast.

I concur with this. I currently am running a KQI3 Pro. Stepping up from an Amazon Special that had lasted me only 4 months. I commute to work on it every day, granted it’s only 4ish miles round trip. But that said, I only use 20ish percent of the battery round trip, and it’s a lot of stops and starts. I did a range test run a while back. Did almost 15 miles with 20% of the juice left when I got home. It’s an excellent workhorse, and fairly inexpensive these days.

I own a KQi3 Max and owned a KQi3 Pro before and they both work(ed) flawlessly. The lack of suspension is manageable on normal terrain but can be quite a limitation on rough terrain. It really depends on where you're planning on riding. 20mph is actually very good for its weight.

I think it's potentially perfect for your needs, just learn to position yourself to absorb shocks with your legs and hands by not being too rigid and I think it can work well. Suspension is fun but it's one more thing to maintain with lubrication and that's something that often fails first on e-scooters.

Yesterday I had a good ride around the Old Port of Montreal with my new Apollo City avec at this specific spot it was really night and day compared to my KQi3 Max and the suspension actually made the ride much safer. There's lots of 'medieval' style pavement that makes the Niu very unstable with the constant bumps and vibrations. For commuting to work though (a short distance), I'm debating only using my Niu as it's much lighter, smaller, easier to carry and to pass through doors. I know it can be quite expensive but ideally I suggest owning two e-scooters, one "light" and "small" for certain type of commuting that requires lifting the e-scooter and/or passing through doors and going up and down stairs, and one made for longer rides with more comfort, power and torque. The thing with higher end scooters is that they also tend to require more maintenance and often have more problems.
