I haven't received it yet, but I did just order a RoadRunner D4 +4.0. Originally, I decided I was going to buy an Ausom Gallop, but put off ordering one (my dog had an unexpected visit to the Emergency Vet that I used my allocated scooter budget to pay for -He's fine BTW, turns out he was just gassy and being dramatic about it to the tune of $1,700 and a hectic day at the emergency Vet -most expensive farts ever!) I decided I'd just wait til spring then, but then Trump got elected and I started to worry about how much the cost of components to build these things would shoot up due to his dumb tariff ideas and thought I should probably allocate some funds for a new scooter before even more stupid stuff happens. And by the time I replenished my scooter fund, the Gallop scooters were out of stock. I was going to get the Ausom Leopard Pro but decided to cross shop a bit and liked what I saw with the RoadRunner. Their build quality seems great and so does their customer service. I liked that RoadRunner had quick disconnect cables to make maintenance easy and it seems to have really great reviews. It comes with tires that can do both on and off road, dual motors with 40mph top speed and 40 miles of range, is UL certified, has a suspension capable of off-roading if needed, weighs in at 70lbs, which is somewhat heavy, but I think I can manage to lug it up a short flight of stairs if needed. I wish the integrated lighting array was better and brighter, but I can fix that easily enough. My starter scooter was a Phantom GoGo that I bought on sale at Costco for $300. 15.5 mph max speed and \~25 mile range. No suspension to speak of, but it has been such a lovely, solid little scooter that I fell in love with scootering to work -I just wanted to be able to go a bit faster and climb hills easier, so I decided to look for a more powerful scooter.
r/ElectricScooters • Which Electric Scooter to Choose? Budget Up to €3000 (Off-Road, Power, Quick Speed Limiting) ->Apollo is definitely A tier. I daily ride a phantom and wouldn’t trade it for any Ninebot or Niu models. The regen control is so precise and effortless, smooth and quiet acceleration and their customer support has been responsive for me as well.
