I’ve owned 3 scooter upgrading every time. NIU KQI 3 pro , Emove cruiser S , Roadrunner Rs5. All bought off Facebook at minimum 50% off and all less than 300 miles on them. Barely broken in IMO.

I really like my roadrunner RS5 and you can get some models for closer to 2k. Aside from the joy of riding my favorite part is how repairable it is. It’s easy to overlook repair stuff when shopping but with high performance scooters like this you will 100% eventually have to do brake maintenance and tire replacement. It doesn’t sound bad but there are plenty of scooters that use hard to find brakes and force you to buy a full new set of brakes ($300+) just to jet the one $40 part you actually needed. Also not rare at all to see motors which are impossible or near impossible to remove due to being permanently wired in, this obviously makes motor replacement hard but more practically it will make tire replacement about 10x harder and super likely to break something if it’s tubeless. Along the same line it is one of the only scooters with swappable battery which is great if you really want to push range but it also means that your scooter doesn’t become worthless if/when the battery degrades. Whatever you choose just make sure you buy from a brand that cares about repairabiliy and keeps parts in stock on their site

Roadrunner rs5 50mph 1400x2, Mukuta 1400x2 46mph. These are close, sure. And I'm sure I could build one faster. Motor wattage can be misleading. For instance, the Inmotion rs has 2000w motors.

That 50lb weight requirement is really going to kill your options. You can afford a really nice scooter, though! My recommendation is that you buy one of those 80 lb scooters and treat the stair climb like the workout it is. I haul mine upstairs, and it sucks, but it's 15 seconds of hell and then it's over. Check out the Roadrunner RS5, as it's set up perfectly for bigger dudes.

You've had a lot of experience with scooters—starting with two Apollos that unfortunately didn’t hold up well. Then you moved on to the Kaabo Mantis King GT, but had issues with the stem snapping and ended up replacing it through Voro. You also swapped out the stock shocks because they didn’t meet your expectations. After that, you went for the Roadrunner RS5 (which cost $2,000 for the 52V battery version), but it had bearing issues right out of the box. Now you're even considering replacing the shocks on that one too, since they’re not performing well either. Given all that, it's a bit surprising that you'd recommend the NIU KQi3 for around $650—it has no suspension and only a 48V 5Ah battery. Meanwhile, something like the Arwibon GT08 can be found for under $600, and it offers a 60V 27Ah battery, dual motors, larger tires, and actual suspension. It just seems like a much better value.
