"I've put hundreds of miles on mine and zero issues"

"I own the wolf king GTR and the emove roadster and neither one has given me problems. ... I ride them daily. ... I alternate between them and I commute 35-40 miles round trip to work 5x a week."

"Max G3 absolutely eats a serious slope and keeps on moving pretty quick for my commuting needs."

"the base model gets 65-75 miles and the max 75-85 miles when riding at 18 mph with pmt tires and a 6’ 210lb rider"

"It’s got great range ... Perfect for getting around campus without worrying about charging all the time."

"Riding hard you get 40-60 miles. ... Keep it under 20 mph your looking at about 80+ miles."

"That’s weird, the US site does say 265lbs/120kg, but all the other Segway sites (EU, UK, Ireland, Australia etc) say 220lbs/110kg."

"this thing is way underpowered. ... I live in a relatively mountainous area so the entire city is hills and this just can’t climb the hills carrying me. ... I underestimated the damn hills in this town, other than that it is a great scooter ... the hills here are bad but usually only up to or around 16-17% grade. Definitely enough that I need a dual motor scooter for sure as far as I can tell. The E2 Pro feels like it’s almost enough but I just need a bit more torque cause I’m a heavier guy"

The Segway e2 will serve your purpose just fine, just try not to deliberately ride through deep rain puddles.

I bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Plus II for my girlfriend to ride with me when I Onewheel around the neighborhood and she loves it! It was only $300 so I would recommend it or other similar models if you're not looking for higher speeds or specific features and weight under 200-lbs.

I contemplated the E2 pro but opted for the plus ii for a few main reasons. Most significantly weight, tire size/type, and added suspension. I think the E2 pro would be just a bit too much for him. I also got a decent discount on the plus ii which ultimately made it a no-brainer.

With your weight, almost any adult scooter is suitable for you. Given the short travel distance, scooters with small batteries are also suitable. I would consider Ninebot scooters, as they have more reliable electronics, and the mechanical parts are also quite reliable. For example, Ninebot scooters Es series (Es1, Es2, Es4), F series(F25, F35, F45), G30, G2 (used ones can be bought for $ 300, and this would be the best solution for the money), E2. Of all the scooters listed, the Es series has a folding mechanism, which makes it easier to store it leaning against the wall, placing it on the front wheel, and using a wall mount. Other scooters can also be stored in this way, but due to the design features, they will bulge strongly from the wall, and it is not very convenient to put them on 1 wheel. Xiaomi scooters also performed well, such as the m365, m365 pro, etc. Inexpensive kukirin scooters can also be considered, but they often have mechanical problems, and the electrics sometimes fail, although due to their mass production, spare parts for them are cheaper than for other scooters.

you really cant buy a decent adult scooter for $200 , those are all childrens scooters , dont even bother with one of those , it's a waste of money the SEGWAY E2 PLUS is the lowest I would go for a low priced adult scooter on sale for $279 https://preview.redd.it/sxkj9zu69x2g1.png?width=1222&format=png&auto=webp&s=67e31cd959da93928f042cf53526e0c1aba9322c

I guess an e2 plus would fit in that price range. If you went with a cheaper one than like 300, which I wouldn’t recommend, you can expect short ranges, weak motors or generally low quality models (I’ve seen pictures of frames snapping on cheaper ones but that shouldn’t be a concern for your children as they are still pretty young but just saying) I wouldn’t recommend buying one with less than like 20/25km of range because that’s a pretty conservative estimate made at low speeds already. A motor with around 400-500W should be totally enough even with some hills. Suspension isn’t really necessary at lower speeds and would also cost more but is a little more comfortable on rough terrain for sure. Hope that helps

A ninebot E2 D or E2 Plus for suspensions and a little higher peak motor power would work for your 350$ budget although the range is like <20km at alright conditions. An E3 model like the Pro version is good as well and comes with a way better range and better motor, is also fairly new but it costs more like 450-500$. Xiaomi scooters are good as well and you could get like a generation 4 for up to 30 km of realistic range starting at like 400$. A used ninebot G30 from eg Facebook marketplace could be worth it if you find a good offer but please make sure that you’re actually buying something that’s still working properly (don’t consider it if the seller’s talking about some “Motor / Battery needs replacement” because there’s usually more wrong with it than just that) I hope I could help you and just hit me up if you got more questions.👍

If you're planning on keeping the scooters as they age, I think the Segway E2 plus is the better buy. Note: They will eventually get bored of the top speed in their teens.

For a flat 10 mile daily commute the G30LP is gonna be your best bet - that battery range and build quality is solid. The E2 Plus II might seem tempting at $249 but you'll probably regret the range limitations pretty quick The extra $170 over the E2 is definitely worth it for college reliability, trust me on that one

In my experience my ninebots have always been reliable and quality. I think you would be hard to go wrong. I had the f2 which i loved but the e2 plus seems great for an 11 year old! Peppy enough they wont be bored but still safe! Through my experience riding escooters up to 60mph and ebikes. Please please please. Helmet and gloves MINIMUM for your kid. Elbow and knee pads are also HIGHLY recommended. ive talked to trauma doctors in the er after big crashes and the amount of kids getting messed up on these things due to no helmets and gear is insane. Nothing worse than roadrash/scraped skin. I dont want to discourage you. With appropriate gear this will genuinely change your kids life and keep him safe! Sorry for the rant i just have seen the consequences of not wearing gear even on a slow scooter. Rant aside. I dont think your gonna go wrong with the scooter! Goodluck!

Generally i would go segway. Its the higher quality brand. And the new e2 plus is seriously impressive for the price. I have so much confidence in segway. I have just picked up a used 4 year old g30p with 1600km on it. Works like brand new. My advice with segway is. Literally. Pick your budget. Buy the scooter closest to it. The more you spend the more features and range etc. but the new e2 plus is genuinely an insane value for money. You wont go wrong
