I did a tooon of research for my 10 yr old and landed on an E2 Plus ii.

I contemplated the E2 pro but opted for the plus ii for a few main reasons. Most significantly weight, tire size/type, and added suspension. I think the E2 pro would be just a bit too much for him. I also got a decent discount on the plus ii which ultimately made it a no-brainer.

honestly the e2 plus ii is gonna struggle pretty hard on sf hills, especially those steeper ones you mentioned. even at your weight, that motor just doesn't have the torque to maintain decent speed on anything over like 8%. you might find yourself having to kick-assist or even walk it up some of the gnarlier climbs, which defeats the purpose if your trying to commute efficiently.

I am looking at buying two scooters. One for my son, who is 9 going on 10, and one for me. For the weight, I am around 205 pounds. The scooters will be used mostly on city streets and sidewalks. There are 15 to 20 miles of bike paths in town that these will also be used on to get the entire loop. Currently, I am looking at around the 500-dollar range. I live in the US, so I would rather not purchase something that needs to be shipped overseas. A couple of models that stand out are the Navee G3 series and the Segway E3 or the E2 series. Is there a reason to stay away from these brands? Is one of these better than the others? Or is there a different manufacturer? EDIT: So I think I will be getting the GT3 MAX. Now, for my son, I am looking for something that will get him between 15 and 20 miles of riding, as that is what his friends are riding. With this in mind, what are the options for him? Edit2: So we ended up getting him a Segway E2 Plus II. He is 2 inches shorter then the recomended height but handles the scooter just fine. If anyone is looking for something for there kid I highly recommend this scooter.

I guess it depends on your weight, my e2 plus ii can accelerate uphill

Depends on your route and if you can just ride public transit up steep hills, something great about this model is it's small and relatively light

E2 plus ii has some travel on the front which is good for low curbs and big cracks

For a flat 10 mile daily commute the G30LP is gonna be your best bet - that battery range and build quality is solid. The E2 Plus II might seem tempting at $249 but you'll probably regret the range limitations pretty quick The extra $170 over the E2 is definitely worth it for college reliability, trust me on that one

I just got the E2 E II for my wife to do 4-8km a day. We have cycling lanes and honestly, it's perfect 👌 , it was on sale this Saturday for 230 USD.

I bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Plus II for my girlfriend to ride with me when I Onewheel around the neighborhood and she loves it! It was only $300 so I would recommend it or other similar models if you're not looking for higher speeds or specific features and weight under 200-lbs.
