You should check Xiaomi Mi Essential or maybe Ninebot E22, both are around your budget and much better than Amazon knockoffs
I just got a F3 to upgrade from the E22 the F3 battery is terrible it drains so quick the E22 can keep up with it and it’s supposed to have less range.
It’s not a popular scooter or really recommended anymore but Segway ES1/2/3/4 E22/25 are the best most portable last mile scooters for taking on buses and trains or waymo and ubers and throwing them into the grocery cart to shop. They fold up very compactly and weigh around 26lbs. You can also add external battery to them although they become less reliable with the battery. I had an ES1 and put around 1500mi on it. I gifted it to my neighbor and they love it
I bought a KQI2 Pro this holiday season, not because it had great specs but because it was $360 on sale. I did not have intense needs for it, nor did I have high expectations. It was immediately a huge jump from the Ninebot ES line (two successive scooters) that I'd been struggling with for about 6 years. It is not amazing, but I didn't need it to be fast or to tackle crazy hills/distance. It is just fine for grocery runs or trips to work. It's very nice for trips from Manhattan to the outer boroughs, as it gets about 18-20 miles range from 100% to 0% power and there aren't many places I need to go where I'd have to take it any farther. It's heavy, like most scooters in this category. The KQi Air is probably what I'd really get if cost were no issue. It has the range I need, the ride quality I need, and it's 40% lighter. I have talked to people with other scooters, and Ninebot/NIU are the only game in town. A friend of mine got an Apollo that can't even get out of the apartment without a $200 repair job out-of-the-box.
I have an f2 and a E kick from ninebot. I do believe you're paying a little bit for the ninebot name, but from my experience it's worth it. I picked up an F2 that had only been rode 4 times by the previous owner for $200 (a steal) on marketplace. The build quality is definitely there, I absolutely love the f2. It's not even in the same league as my new vmax, yet I still use it for trips I can't bring the max inside or if it's rough riding. I'm 170 and ride the scooters like I stole them. Our Gotrax is also solid reliability wise, as my 8 yrs old nephew hasn't destroyed it yet, despite trying his hardest lol
I have a ninebot and they are very solid for the price. Ignore anyone saying they are overpriced. No on the Apollo Go. I have a VMAX V2 Hub and I absolutely love it. Extended range, it's a monster
Probably not the answer u want, I use a scooter for my job and fun. After swapping to a dual motor i cant go back. Also good suspension is a must. Ofc those will in increase the weight. 12 km is quite a distance and if u need it for daily use, i think u should consider raising the budget a bit. Otherwise 9bot for me :ρ
I've been using my partner's Segway Ninebot eScooter to commute to work regularly for two summers now and have been very happy with it. He bought it locally at Best Buy. It's definitely not the cheapest eScooter, but I'd say it's worth it!
Try Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, I got a nice ninebot for $150.
Been using Navee S65 for about 6 months now and had a Ninebot before that. The ride quality is actually pretty solid - suspension feels comparable and build quality seems decent enough. Where Navee really struggles is in the app department, it's quite clunky compared to Segway's software and customer support is basically non-existent if you run into issues As for market share, I think they might grab some budget-conscious buyers but Segway just has too much brand recognition and better service network
If it's just to commute to work get a Segway ninebot or NIU like most people.
