Segways have a reputation for being built "like tanks". A lot of smart people spend a lot of time designing, developing, and testing scooters. My ES1 is only "broken" because I stripped a bolt and can't remove the handlebars from the stem (to replace the brake throttle that was the only part that was damaged from a hard crash). I prefer the rear drive of the G30 and the Max G3 over the front drive of that scooter though, so I have little incentive to actually finish fixing it (aside as a hobby)

lmao. I've been riding e-scooters since I was a kid. Cope harder. Like I said, your scooter is probably super reliable. I'm glad for you for being able to go 60mph off road or whatever. This doesn't need to be a circlejerk where you shit on a different brand than the one you prefer. A lot of different people have different needs and wants when it comes to scooters. Each person is responsible for researching all of the brands and models available to them and narrowing down to the best fit. Have you crashed your scooter? My "built like a tank" comment was literally because I've (myself, personally) had many crashes across the three generations of scooters I've had. None of my scooters are flat-out broken like I said in my original comment, I just have no incentive to work on the ES1 when the G3 is so much better in every aspect. My old scooter still works great and because I have SHFW installed, I just disabled the alarm for the break throttle being broken. They're not overrated, they're reliable. They have a warranty, and even out of warranty support still tries to help. The components are high quality. They're easy to get into and repair anything that's broken, replacement parts are not expensive and can be bought directly from the manufacturer. They're the \*only\* scooter manufacturer to have any "recalls", and those are because of user neglecting maintenance. They have safety features built in and the software is purposely conservative about max speed and power. These are things that allow me to trust the scooter will always perform as expected. I check my scooter before every ride. All of the bolts are solid and not moving. There's no creaking or weird noises. The breaks work and I trust them. There's been several cases where cars just appear and I had to break hard to not crash into them I don't need to be able to go 60mph or faster on a scooter. That's double the G3's top speed. It's not worth the significant increase of risk of death. "hurr durr skill issue, git good" - not realizing that over confidence in not crashing is the primary reason crashes happen. If I want to go faster, I have an e-bike. A cop asked me how fast my G3 goes, I told him 30; he was like "wow my skateboard does 50". My response to that was "I hope you have a motorcycle helmet and ride with armor" and that was the end of that conversation.

You will not find good suspension at 300 dollars. Scooters are cheap, but they aren't *that* cheap, and if they are there's *always* a catch. Look up basic Ninebots (you may know them as Segway). Avoid anything with solid tires.

Find yourself a segway es1 or es2 kickscooter and use that. They weigh 24lbs and fold up and fit between your legs even with a seat in front. I used mine when i use to take the bus and never had any problems with anything. Its very portable. I put over 1500 miles on it

All those scooters are way too big to be carrying on a bus. I used to commute to work with a Segway ES1 which was 24lbs and could fit in between my legs with a seat in front of me. It’s not a popular scooter or really recommended anymore but Segway ES1/2/3/4 E22/25 are the best most portable last mile scooters for taking on buses and trains or waymo and ubers and throwing them into the grocery cart to shop. They fold up very compactly and weigh around 26lbs. You can also add external battery to them although they become less reliable with the battery. I had an ES1 and put around 1500mi on it. I gifted it to my neighbor and they love it

There was with the Segway ES series, but not really anymore.  There’s no money in it for them. Their profit margins are way better with 100lb scooters with massive batteries, suspensions, that go 50+ mph

Segway ES series are rickety pieces of junk but they are pretty reliable as long as you don't add an external battery. The ride quality is horrible. They are really small scooters for an adult but also very portable.

If I were you, I would pay attention to small scooters weighing up to 14 kg, such as Ninebot ES, Xiaomi m365 or analogues. It is better to consider scooters with inflatable tires, they need to be monitored more, but the trips will be more comfortable. With your small weight, if you ride mainly on sidewalks and asphalt, then if there are inflatable wheels, there is no point in suspensions. With your small weight, most suspensions will not add much comfort, but the presence of a suspension in the scooter adds weight to it. Also pay attention to the dimensions, it will be inconvenient to bring a large scooter into the bus / subway. As a person who works physically, carrying heavy loads every day, wearing a scooter weighing even 24 kg is not a pleasure. I don't even recommend a scooter weighing 19 kg to you, it's not just hard, but it can lead to back injuries. If you don't work as a loader, then you won't really like carrying even 14 kg every day. I judge by the example of girls I know who are uncomfortable lifting a Ninebot es4 weighing 14.5 kg, but a xiaomi m365 weighing 12 kg is calmly lifted to the 3rd floor.
