r/ElectricScootersI analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year

Good work, but to be honest that's definitely not how I shop. I've put in about 25,000 miles on electric scooters, and I've only owned two "name brands". Both were way back in the day with their earliest models (the Ninebot es2 was horrible). Everything else I've purchased would be considered non-name brands. My two main scooters right now are from AliExpress and I couldn't be happier. Sadly, options are going to change because of tariffs ... but I'll never buy anything from Ninebot, Apollo, etc. Much better bargains elsewhere if you know how to shop. I don't need to pay for a name.

With your weight, almost any adult scooter is suitable for you. Given the short travel distance, scooters with small batteries are also suitable. I would consider Ninebot scooters, as they have more reliable electronics, and the mechanical parts are also quite reliable. For example, Ninebot scooters Es series (Es1, Es2, Es4), F series(F25, F35, F45), G30, G2 (used ones can be bought for $ 300, and this would be the best solution for the money), E2. Of all the scooters listed, the Es series has a folding mechanism, which makes it easier to store it leaning against the wall, placing it on the front wheel, and using a wall mount. Other scooters can also be stored in this way, but due to the design features, they will bulge strongly from the wall, and it is not very convenient to put them on 1 wheel. Xiaomi scooters also performed well, such as the m365, m365 pro, etc. Inexpensive kukirin scooters can also be considered, but they often have mechanical problems, and the electrics sometimes fail, although due to their mass production, spare parts for them are cheaper than for other scooters.

If I were you, I would pay attention to small scooters weighing up to 14 kg, such as Ninebot ES, Xiaomi m365 or analogues. It is better to consider scooters with inflatable tires, they need to be monitored more, but the trips will be more comfortable. With your small weight, if you ride mainly on sidewalks and asphalt, then if there are inflatable wheels, there is no point in suspensions. With your small weight, most suspensions will not add much comfort, but the presence of a suspension in the scooter adds weight to it. Also pay attention to the dimensions, it will be inconvenient to bring a large scooter into the bus / subway. As a person who works physically, carrying heavy loads every day, wearing a scooter weighing even 24 kg is not a pleasure. I don't even recommend a scooter weighing 19 kg to you, it's not just hard, but it can lead to back injuries. If you don't work as a loader, then you won't really like carrying even 14 kg every day. I judge by the example of girls I know who are uncomfortable lifting a Ninebot es4 weighing 14.5 kg, but a xiaomi m365 weighing 12 kg is calmly lifted to the 3rd floor.

> Ngl a lot of that sounds like copium. Copium for what? I'm not a Ninebot fanboy (I don't even *have* any Ninebots more recent than an old ES2, incidentally the worst scooter they ever made) and don't have a burning need to defend them. Feel free to hate them if you want; it's a strange hill to die on, but you do you. What I'm not getting is why you're being all butthurt about Ninebot scooters instead of just... not buying them. They're not for everyone, and in particular they're not for people looking to crack their skull open, so they're clearly not for you. We can acknowledge this without having to argue about it. > No one normal is going to strap an extra battery to their ninebot which will compromise its perceived safety. They're literally the ones people add battery to most often. You clearly haven't done a search about adding battery to M365 and G30 scooters.

I have the ES2 and the solid rubber tires suck. Uneven surfaces have made me fall several times. The range is pretty low, you can get a battery pack added for almost the price of the scooter lol and i have seen people saying the errors caused by the batteries make them inoperable. I been looking at the TurboAnt X7 Max i can get 2 for 800$ and has more range than the ES2

For that distance and weight the Xiaomi Mi 1S or Ninebot ES2 are solid budget picks that won't fall apart on you - both handle short commutes like a champ and you can usually snag them used for pretty cheap

There was with the Segway ES series, but not really anymore.  There’s no money in it for them. Their profit margins are way better with 100lb scooters with massive batteries, suspensions, that go 50+ mph

Segway ES series are rickety pieces of junk but they are pretty reliable as long as you don't add an external battery. The ride quality is horrible. They are really small scooters for an adult but also very portable.

I've been using my partner's Segway Ninebot eScooter to commute to work regularly for two summers now and have been very happy with it. He bought it locally at Best Buy. It's definitely not the cheapest eScooter, but I'd say it's worth it!

I’d go with the [Segway Ninebot](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/). It’s got great range, solid speed, and rides super smooth. Perfect for getting around campus without worrying about charging all the time. Check out [this post.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calidad_Precio/comments/1j2ltqy/best_electric_scooters_for_college_in_2025/) Hope is helpful! :D

r/ElectricScootersHow does Navee really stack up against Segway Ninebot in your experience?

Been using Navee S65 for about 6 months now and had a Ninebot before that. The ride quality is actually pretty solid - suspension feels comparable and build quality seems decent enough. Where Navee really struggles is in the app department, it's quite clunky compared to Segway's software and customer support is basically non-existent if you run into issues As for market share, I think they might grab some budget-conscious buyers but Segway just has too much brand recognition and better service network
