"It's the original ultra-reliable tank. ... it's basically the perfect urban cruiser on the cheap."
"I paid 70€ for my G30, included with delivery ... can't name a better scooter for its price"
"My general opinion is that this is the best value scooter you can get and it is “name brand”, so it’ll hold value, if you don’t like it, just flip it to someone else for $300. This is a whole lot of scooter for only $300."

"I have the same G30 and have put over 7000+ miles on mine on NYC streets. With normal maintenance, these things will go the distance and last a long time."
"Durable (9/10): good for hard, bump roads. ... Cinder paths (eg jogging paths); fresh cut grass (eg golf course fairways; some dirt roads that are packed. Cobble stones are A-OK (if bumpy; very doable)."
"Had mine for 5 years now , no issues , haven’t done any maintenance ... my other friend has 10,000kms on it and still going strong . Just replaced both tires that’s it."

"The Max G3 is a total beast on hills if you can budget it. I’m 220lbs and ride with a full pack every day. ... The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part."
"You could also go for the G30 Max to future proof if he needs more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range)."
"You could push on to the G30 Max to future proof if they need more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range)"

"the battery size (and therefore range) is about the max I’d want for a commuting scooter. ... Range is more than enough for me. ... realistically it’s about 20 miles at 19 mph and for this type of vehicle, that is more than enough. ... Scooters are really best for ~5-10 mile rides."

"It can also fit a massive battery internally with a few mods"

"No suspension is up to personal preference in my opinion; it’s going to be less maintenance and less things to go wrong, but it can be a rough ride when hitting bumps in the road."
"It has two flaws: ... no suspension. ... The only thing that does make me go "aw, crap" is cobblestones, but that happens on every scooter and bicycle I have, including the dual-suspension scooter and the mountain bike."
"No suspension tho"

"The hill totally stops my G30"
"Only thing is that it wasn’t that great on hills."

"be prepared for daily and monthly maintenance. ... air tires: checking these constantly. ... If you live an urban environment with rough roads (eg Boston; NYC) you may want air tires (softer ride), but you trade off with maintenance. Check daily. ... if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. ... high maintenance scooters (to maintain daily performance)"
"the regenerative braking is ALWAYS coupled to analog braking (which is poor unless one keeps on top of maintenance; if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. Braking requires >30% more distance than Hiboy"

"My only complaint on mine is the 19 mph top speed can feel a bit slow on longer straight roads"
"You said 30MPH, I don't know if you want to go that fast or if that's just the speed limit, but bear in mind that the G30 tops out at around 20MPH and barely gets even there."
"It has two flaws: relatively slow maximum speed even unrestricted"

"Manufacturer software mandates: can be / are a hassle -- regulation by the manufacturer. ... Segway - China has your Segway scooter in a big ol' database and you gotta deal with them if the ESC shits the bed. They track both the serial number (SN) on your scooter and match it to the ESC's SN. Its part of an anti-theft system that is regulated from China."
My first scooter was max g30 for 400. I test drove it and inspected it prior to purchase, and it still works perfectly after moderate usage and zero maintenance. Buying new is great, but if we're trying to extract max value per dollar, the used market will win in this price range. That is, of course, assuming you possess the bare minimum skill set to prevent yourself from being ripped off.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Funny enough, there is an overheating flaw. I actually loved that scooter but turns out it will melt cables on hills. I’m not saying don’t buy it, it was a great scooter and I loved it, but after a certain amount of time it just can’t handle hills for some reason. (I had 2 and both had the same issue)
r/ElectricScooters • What is wrong with this sub 😭 ->Bout 14 on Sport limited to 20mph Daily commute mostly flat with one steep climb at the end of the return trip. The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part.
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->Ninebot Max G3 is IPX6 and it’s battery is IPX7 Not the highest but quite good. I also have the G30 and after a full year of daily use in all weather it has zero signs of moisture inside.
r/ElectricScooters • What is the most water resistant scooter? ->This is great ! Thanks for doing this. Nice to see some insight with so many different scooters on the market. I have the 9bot max g30 and it’s just been amazing . I also have had the zero 11 , and I currently own the dualtron X2 . What I’ve learned over the years that every person is different. And e-scooters are now personal preference. For myself I’m somewhat a multi tasker , I have different needs so I had to buy multiple scooters .
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->9 bot g30 max I use it as a commuter , it’s strong and enduring. I’m a heavy guy so it’s a slow climber , but that’s ok , majority of the time I’m on flat pavement. I use this for situations like fixing my car , when you fix your car you need to leave your car there for serveral hours . I just leave it in my trunk until I arrive , pull it out and ride to the nearest train or bus to get home. Or I just ride home if it’s close enough. Another funny use I use it for is when I drive to a party and get really drunk. I will leave my car somewhere parked. Uber it home and the next morning I’ll use it to commute to pick up my car to save a few bucks . I have 2 of the 9bots so when I have a guest or I’m riding with someone inexperienced I will ride slowly with them so they get the hang of it. It’s great in the summer times to take it to a nearby bike path just to explore the parks and city. Dualton X2 - This is a totally different animal . 100kmph - 80-90kms in range I use this for straight pleasure . I also ride in a group with others whom have big powerful scooters. We ride around the whole city. I don’t carry a lock because I don’t use this for anything but pleasure . I call this the party scooter. I strapped a speaker to it so we have music when we stop. ( we do this in our own secluded spots ) we have a few beers and continue to the next spot. I don’t need to take transit either because it has more than enough range for the entire day of riding. Or 80-90kms of riding which is a lot . The stem I don’t bother folding. It comes with 2 deadbolts that secure it permanently. I must say I’ve ridden many scooters but this stem system is the best stem dualtron has ever made. It’s solid , it doesn’t move. Can handle any terrain. I keep up with cars in it . It’s loud and obnoxious like a Lamborghini. I purposefully do this so I get noticed by cars. I don’t ride recklessly though I have 5 years experience and I ride with full gear on. Again it’s not for the inexperienced rider. You must know your roads , you must ride with caution. It’s like riding a motorcycle basically.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->Oh sorry I didn’t read that part. 800$ cnd is not much for scooter. The 9bot G30 max is excellent
r/ElectricScooters • What E-Scooter should I buy? ->Had mine for 5 years now , no issues , haven’t done any maintenance , I don’t ride much but my other friend has 10,000kms on it and still going strong . Just replaced both tires that’s it.
r/ElectricScooters • Is the Segway Ninebot Max G30 still worth it in 2025? ->Right i had max g30 before than bought g2 - will stay with ninebot - very solid and reliable scooters
r/ElectricScooters • Let’s check the scooter rankings and see how high yours is. ->Buy a preowner ninebot G30 max or a G30lp max. App controlled so you can adjust speed. Has remote lock and is something he can grow into. Plus its very reliable
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for a scooter for a 10-year old experiences biker ->Segway Ninebot Max. Get the G30 or a refurb if you can't afford the highest version. These are excellent commuter scooters. Also look at NIU scooters too. If you can, try to save up a bit more for something in the $800-900 range. You won't be paying for gas, maintenance, insurance, or parking. So it's going to be a massive deal Gotrax is okay.
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->With your weight, almost any adult scooter is suitable for you. Given the short travel distance, scooters with small batteries are also suitable. I would consider Ninebot scooters, as they have more reliable electronics, and the mechanical parts are also quite reliable. For example, Ninebot scooters Es series (Es1, Es2, Es4), F series(F25, F35, F45), G30, G2 (used ones can be bought for $ 300, and this would be the best solution for the money), E2. Of all the scooters listed, the Es series has a folding mechanism, which makes it easier to store it leaning against the wall, placing it on the front wheel, and using a wall mount. Other scooters can also be stored in this way, but due to the design features, they will bulge strongly from the wall, and it is not very convenient to put them on 1 wheel. Xiaomi scooters also performed well, such as the m365, m365 pro, etc. Inexpensive kukirin scooters can also be considered, but they often have mechanical problems, and the electrics sometimes fail, although due to their mass production, spare parts for them are cheaper than for other scooters.
r/ElectricScooters • E scooter for 5-10 min commute to college? ->If you can bump up the budget the Segway G30LP will be a good one to set him for the next few years. You could also go for the G30 Max to future proof if he needs more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range). Both models are reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up and have him wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. You can also control speeds via the dedicated app too. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for electric scooters, ranking them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find it helpful [https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/](https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/) You can filter for what's good for hills and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)
