Segway g30lp $299 on eBay. I bought one last year and it’s solid. [here](https://ebay.us/m/leruJK)
r/ElectricScooters • Looking for an electric scooter on Amazon, $300 budget. ->I bought a refurbished Segway g30lp from Walmart last year. They were selling for $250 at the time. It’s my first scooter and it’s a solid, well built machine. If it does ever break. Parts for these are abundant, and easily swapped out.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter Advice ->Is it a $500 giftcard? Because if it is it could very well be worth putting a small cash payment on top as well. I'm not sure what's available on amazon but it could get you into a different class of scooter. The G30LP is a great beginner scooter but I wish I had bought something a bit better to start with (to avoid upgrade-itis)
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter under $500? ->Completely up to you, but as a G30 rider (when shit was cheap pre-covid) the lack of suspension and the short handlebars were such a pain. I just feel like the G2 is such a huge step up that it would be worth paying the extra. But again, it's your scooter and cash. Just giving my experience :)
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter under $500? ->I got my Segway g30lp for 300 off of marketplace and I’m pretty happy with it. Gets you up the hill at a decent speed which I feel is a must, and is a durable build which should last a few years at least. Definitely need a good lock though, my roommate caught someone cutting through his lol
r/ucla • Any Electric Scooter Recommendations? ->I’m surprised a 500w couldn’t do it, I seem to remember going around 9 mph up the steepest part of the Hill right after the crosswalk. G30lp only has 350w and I’ve never had to kick it up any roads, although I’m a little lighter at 150lbs. According to Segway it can handle up to 20% incline which is quite steep
r/ucla • Any Electric Scooter Recommendations? ->I’ve got a Segway Ninebot Max G30LP. Got it for a great deal, and haven’t had a single complaint on it. Haven’t used my car in forever cuz I can just zip around in a few minutes. The battery power lasts about 5-6 days for me (note that I use it a lot throughout the day), so I only bring in my scooter one night every week. As for bringing it in my dorm (Moses), RAs don’t care I bring in my scooter to charge. I’ve walked past the RAs a couple times and they don’t care. Just make sure not to leave it in your room over winter break or summer and you’re good.
r/aggies • Best electric scooter? ->Definitely the G30LP. $250 refurbished on Walmart right now.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommend a $200-250 electric scooter for a 10 year old please? ->Late, but thank you btw for this! I apparently never responded?? Ended up getting the G30LP, and it's genuinely amazing so far! Even my mom has loved trying it out over break, lol I've used it a ton since it arrived, and haven't needed to charge it yet, since the first charge when I took it out of the box (it's still at like 60%). That box, though, was absolutely MASSIVE. So big that the mail room workers asked me a few times whether or not I'd be able to bring it to my dorm. Ended up borrowing a dolly, and got it back there. That box takes up nearly the entire length of the room 🤣
r/ElectricScooters • 5TH WHEEL V30PRO vs Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP ->I have the Max G30LP. It’s on sale for $499. My experience with has been all positive. I have over 1100 miles on it. Almost all of the miles are on the streets of chicago. I’m in the process of the first repair. A tire repair from a stabby piece of metal. Otherwise the tires were still good. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these.
r/ElectricScooters • Which one for a first scooter? ->If you can bump up the budget the Segway G30LP will be a good one to set him for the next few years. You could also go for the G30 Max to future proof if he needs more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range). Both models are reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up and have him wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. You can also control speeds via the dedicated app too. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for electric scooters, ranking them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find it helpful [https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/](https://redditrecs.com/electric-scooter/) You can filter for what's good for hills and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)

r/ElectricScooters • Electric Scooter for 12 year old ->I got segway ninebot max g30LP for 499 on Amazon. My commute is simple. 8 miles daily on bike lanes, including some incline. I rode it during rain, during freezing temperatures and such and performing really well. I read that the customer service can be a pain, but I haven't needed it so far. I would consider if the specs fit to your needs (range, speed, tire type, etc..)
r/ElectricScooters • Electric scooter for $500-600 ->I wanted a lightweight but also a decent range. If it is discounted, I would consider G30 LP. I did 800 miles in 7 months, including snowy and rainy weathers under 20F in winter, and had no issues. The best part is, you can fold and take it to bus or subway with you. Not very light but carriable.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I was between uScooter GT sport, KQI Air but then I decided to go with Segway g30lp. KQI air has very bad reviews, not only in Amazon but in BestBuy and other retailers. Especially after they closed their flagship here in NY, I couldn't be sure to pay 950usd for it. To your point about GT sport, I did some research and I didn't want to go with a solid tire. Especially I want to be able to ride it it is wet outside. Also, I read that it might be slippery on some surfaces like metal consturction covers and such which is quite frequent in Manhattan. On top of this, they didn't have any black Friday discount so if I am unhappy with my purchase, I can go back to Escooter GT and find it in the same price. Max g30lp is definitely heavier then I was initially planning. However, it looked safe and in the market for 3-4 years with apparently easier access to spare parts. Amazon has return windows Jan31. 2 months is a good period to test it out and decide.
r/ElectricScooters • All I wanted was buying a lightweight decent scooter and stop spending 150+ a month to citibike ->g30lp what I ordered eventually. It was as low as 399 and got great reviews. Despite it is heavier than my initial plan, 38.6lbs isn't horrible. I guess I can drag it on the wheel to the bus stop and lift it. I will just need to convince my 3.5 years old to walk by herself :)
r/ElectricScooters • All I wanted was buying a lightweight decent scooter and stop spending 150+ a month to citibike ->Basic Ninebots are what we usually suggest. The F25 and F35 are relatively unassuming but effective people-movers. The G30LP and the F2 are a little more serious, but they're probably over-budget. The E2 is cheap but pretty weak, though that might be a feature rather than a bug if you're giving it to a 14yo - though do keep in mind that also means it chokes on the slightest uphills. We also like basic Nius but I don't think they have the 20kmh limit German law requires - all of the Nius I've seen so far do 25. Edit: well, apparently not - if available in Germany, the KQi1 Sport (warning: cheap but doesn't fold) or the KQi 100P would be good choices as well.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Budget Scooter Germany ? ->It and the G30 are tanks. The G2's suspension does mean it's heavier and there's more stuff that can break, but it's not *usually* a problem. This is a good moment to remind you that Ninebot have sold *thousands upon thousands* of G2s. Doubting it because of one video is like doubting a car because one dude somewhere had a radiator leak, or something. No product is perfect and acceptable defect rates are a thing. Additionally, an amount of play that small definitely wouldn't stop me riding it. To be honest, I probably wouldn't even be arsed putting the scooter up on the stand to fix it.
r/ElectricScooters • So what's the consensus on the Ninebot Max G2 nowadays? ->Can't help you about reviews, but I *can* tell you - from the tech specs and from user reports here - that E-series Ninebots below the E3 Pro aren't actually very good. They have weak powertrains and tiny ranges and they'll choke on any uphill; personally I'd avoid them all. The E3 Pro specifically is the only one with a half-decent powertrain; I'd imagine that's why people have more things to say about it. I *would* choose a Xiaomi 5 before any E-series, but I'd choose a Ninebot F3, cheaper F2, or even the older G30 before the Xiaomi 5.
r/ElectricScooters • Ninebot E3 Review? No Videos or Reviews Online ->Excellent choice, the G30 has been a mainstay of our recommendations for years for very good reasons.
r/ElectricScooters • Hiboy s2/s2r vs Gotrax gxl v2 ->Max g30lp not too much power but can get up hills quite nice. If you are looking for faster scooter that go above 20 mph consider getting a cheaper dual motor scooter
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter recs for large 12 year olds that can handle a hill ->Max g30lp or or gotrax g4 ( some people say they are horrible but I used it snd it’s amazing ) maybe the xiaomi scooters too like the xiaomi m365 or xiaomi pro models if you can manage to find one under 500 I reccomend some with solid tires ( be aware of clones ) as solid tires can give you more range and be more reliable because of no risk of flats . But can be more unsafe when wet and be more bumpy
r/ElectricScooters • Scooter recs for large 12 year olds that can handle a hill ->If you never rode a scooter and can't borrow one to give it a try, its probably better to waste A$200 than go all in on A$1800. But without question the Segway will be the better scooter, but considering its brand new I would still wait a bit for independent reviews. There are also cheaper models from Segway, NIU and others. For my first scooter I also went with an iScooter E9D (same model as yours but had back suspension), was around €210. It did its job for about 1200km I ridden it, but by that time I got the Ninebot Max G30LP that was way better in all aspects; and eventually sold the E9D scooter for €150.
r/ElectricScooters • Worth buying iScooter i9 as first scooter for A$199? (~$120 USD)? ->I had good experience with NIU and Segway scooters, specifically: Segway Ninebot Max G30LP - 10,000km - no problems (at around 9800km the back fender broke, but it got crashed by elevator doors, so does not really count :D ) NIU KQi2 Pro - 2700km - no major problems since 500km+, few initial issues (full journey https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb3q9WiQZ0LOACttdyEq-Enat4eUqCLnt ) NIU KQi Air - 2000km - no problems with scooter (few issues with NIU app, did not affect riding of scooter) (full details https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW9nK3h6FKY ) VDM-10 - around 3000km - zoom brakes had to be replaced, DIY fenders added to keep suspension clean; otherwise still going strong;
r/ElectricScooters • Which e-scooters are the most reliable and good quality? ->Over the black friday holidays that past that there was g30lp refurbs for $250... but i was hearing people are getting some and theyre not even clean when received and some not even functional. And I guess they're sold as is without return or refunds/exchange. I buy new or build new.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->I exchanged my first Segway ninebot es4-800 bird refurbished deal from Walmart in 2021. It about killed me when going down a hill and touch the brake paddle and the front wheel locked up on me and I somehow didn't fly over the handlebar. Exchanged it for warranty for a Segway ninebot max g30lp and I still own it today. Although not factory anymore, the deck itself has over 10k miles on it. About to put a different motor in that supposedly has stupid amount of torque. Told backflip power around 180amps phase. Gonna probably program to top out at 200amps for the motor on 16s. Some guys are running 30s now with this specific motor to have stupid torque in a single motor and have an 80mph top speed... 32kw is what some are running dual motor.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Im using a ninebot max g30lp frame. It's completely custom built to my likings. If I had lots of money there is other things I'd like to do to it to call that project mostly done. Next on my list to modify is my yume y11+. And also want to slap together a kids Vespa scooter haha. I have some 3kw rated 11" motors for the Vespa lol.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Depends on your budget and distance you travel. Ninebot max g30p is nice for lower cost no suspension. The newest Segway ninebot max G3 i would recommend if you have that budget. Water resistance rating is amazing. Speed and acceleration is good. Distance is decent. Dual suspension and disc brakes and the steering geometry is superior to many scooters on the market. Another I understand is the Segway ninebot zt3. I hear the zt3 acceleration is quite amazing. Yume is a solid company and their swift or Hawk model can take a look at them. You can find ninebot max g30p and g30lp used on marketplace or craigslist quite often if in a bigger town and they are reliable.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I have the g30lp. Its a solid scooter and you can hack the esc for more power identical to the max g2 model. The g30p and g2 both have same battery. G30lp real world driving is around 13-15 miles range. Other is inmotion climber. Or the best bang for buck if you can is the gt08 escooter. Dual motor 40mph scooter with front and rear suspension. Best bang for buck on the world market.
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->"#3 says Segway Ninebot Max - there are at least 3 different basic versions of the Max (G2, G30 and G30LP) and then a lot of different regional versions. also Niu doesn't show the specific model and there are a few... you should differentiate more in your list.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->please don't use Gotrax and Segway in the same sentence 😂 While Gotrax scooters are really bad quality and should be avoided at all costs (you should rather get a Hiboy at this point!), Segway is a really reputable brand that makes quality scooters (except their ES-series - avoid those!) I think considering your requirements you should have a look at the Ninebot G30LP, that's a smaller and lighter version of the bigger G30 Max and is really sturdy and has good waterproofing out of the box.
r/ElectricScooters • All I wanted was buying a lightweight decent scooter and stop spending 150+ a month to citibike ->I got the G30LP last week too. Found it used for $350 cash. The seller claimed to use it very little which seems so. Its really simple to use and does what I need it to do.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I bought the G30LP last week. Used off marketplace. Battery, tires, everything seemed fine except for some scuffs. I was just looking for something to commute in. The speed is fine for me. It sure beats walking. Perfect example why i want one. Take car in for oil change, dont wait around, scoot back on scooter, come back on scooter to pick it up. Or short distance errands. Just sad my gym said i cannot keep it inside so looking for a lock.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->G30lp will last for years
r/ElectricScooters • May 31st is my birthday what electric scooter do I get? ->Take the advertised range and cut it in half. That will give you a realistic real world range number. Will vary depending on rider weight, and speed while riding. Those figures are made with a very small rider going slow in the lowest mode. Most of the time you will be riding in the fastest mode for a small scooter like that. Segway G30LP is $400 on Amazon. It's extremely reliable. Will last you for years if you keep air in the tires.
r/ElectricScooters • Are electric scooters worth it? ->G30lp is a solid reliable scooter. Just maintain tire pressure regularly
r/ElectricScooters • Can I get an adult electric scooter such as the Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP Electric Kick for my teenager? It seems like some are advertised for teens and not only adults. It doesn't make sense if the product reviews seem more dangerous. ->IIRC you can adjust the kick-to-start function in the app. You can also disable it. While learning maybe good to keep it on, but it's personal preference.
r/ElectricScooters • Can I get an adult electric scooter such as the Segway Ninebot MAX G30LP Electric Kick for my teenager? It seems like some are advertised for teens and not only adults. It doesn't make sense if the product reviews seem more dangerous. ->I owned a p100s. Had to return after 15 days. Was garbage. G30lp has been super reliable, still have it. Got my kid a ZT3 to upgrade from LP. The zt3 and p100 are both covered in plastic, feel cheap. Time will tell if the zt3 is any good, the G2 has been around for a while. There was a problem with the internal charger going bad, make sure that's resolved.
r/ElectricScooters • Which one for a first scooter? ->G30LP is a mid scooter. I bought one working well and the regenerative breaking heated up too much and melted a bunch of the wires inside.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->I don’t know where you are getting this logic from. I’m talking about the g30LP not g2max, and even then that statement is entirely referencing a comment you made on another post and even skewing it in your favor as the g30LP is not mentioned anywhere in your own post. The g30LP is the most bought scooter on Amazon for a reason.
r/ElectricScooters • SP06 or HoverFly X3 ->I’m selling my G30LP on marketplace now lol.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->I have to interject and advise against the G30LP. At 190lbs, I had one for 2yrs and it did not take hills well, also as battery charge drops, so does speed. And if you’re hitting an incline, it’ll drop you to an easy 10mph when max on sport mode is 18.5mph or so. I actually just got rid of my G30LP. Sent it for warranty claim for the battery and they refunded me because they didn’t have parts for it. Which worked out absolutely perfect because I’m eyeing the Max G2 next. Kind of torn between the Max G2 or HiBoy Max Pro but the G2 is my lean just for durability and water resistance (G2 is IPx5, compared to HiBoy’s IPx4). Tubeless self-healing tires are also very attractive compared to an inner tube. Prime day is here my friend. Amazon has the G2 now at $800 usd. Not sure what that converts to in CAD but I’m hoping when the Prime Day event starts tomorrow? The G2 will drop even more. My hope is $650 but I’m a little doubtful. Best of luck OP.
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->The Kqi 100p or Segway G30lp (currently on sale) should be good for the eldest; the thumb throttle on the latter will be easier to use vs the twist on the Nui imo though. Both available on Amazon for $250 & $399. Segway’s kids models (C2 pro, can’t remember if they have another) for the 7y/o should be suitable.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommendations for an Electric Scooter for 7 and 11 Year Olds ->Segway G30. Reliable, solid construction, easy to repair/find replacement parts etc. You can control your speed via the app too. You can look at Inmotion Air if it’s still on sale too. Nui’s are popular (Kqi 100p, Nui Kqi2 Pro etc) but they’re OEM for part replacements and are a pain if you ever need to change tires. Consider if you’re needing to lock it up outside too, as nothing is foolproof from being stolen or withstanding the elements (mainly rain). Otherwise a bike might be a safer option.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a college student under 600? ->Segway G30lp is probably the best option. If she plans on riding longer distances with you/her friends etc as she’s older, then you could look at the G30. The new F3 could be another option (unsure on US prices for it though). Segway’s are easy to maintain and parts availability is great. Niu’s do great models (Kqi 100P, Kqi Pro 2 etc) too but the repairs are trickier and parts are pretty much exclusively from them (usually have to ship it to them, or find an authorised service centre).
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->Segway G30lp is probably the best option. If riding over 12-15kmh, full face helmet and gloves *minimum* protection too. Can always upgrade to suspension/dual motors once they’re older and have more experience.
r/ElectricScooters • Best scooter for a teen ->Segway G30lp is perfect for your height & distance requirements. It’s about 114cm total, so should be around your lower abdomen (but check to measure!). It was on sale on Amazon (brand new) for $399 but unsure if there’s any left in stock at that price. Even at $450 or so, still the best option for you.
r/ElectricScooters • Need recommendations for a solid scooter for someone who is 5ft2in ->Yeah, I was wondering why you said they were the same height! OP mentioned Gotrax in the description. All good, and yeah I’m aware tire size/deck height etc will vary the actual height from feet to handlebars but without getting an adjustable height frame, the G30lp is amongst the shortest adult scooters on the market. And well recommended.
r/ElectricScooters • Need recommendations for a solid scooter for someone who is 5ft2in ->Segway G30lp will be one of the best options for them for the next 2-3yrs. You could push on to the G30 Max to future proof if they need more distance or climb higher gradients (motor is better and battery is twice the range) & would have decent value retention too. Both models are super reliable, easy to maintain and replacement parts are readily available, affordable to buy and change yourself. - *Just ensure they do regular maintenance checks, don’t run the battery down below 15-20% where possible, keep psi topped up (Xiaomi Air 2 compressor is the best portable unit) and wear a helmet as minimum safety gear. r/ElectricScooters • Scooter recs for large 12 year olds that can handle a hill ->I've been using it for almost a year. It was excellent.
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->A ninebot g30lp/p isn’t heavy, I have a p and compared to my friends single motor 800w it’s lightwork going up 10-20 stairs, not easy but not hard
r/ElectricScooters • My 10 year old daughter really wants an E scooter. She is saving her money and has about 500 atm. Recommendations? Wouldn’t need to go much over 15mph but having a range of 15 miles or more would be awesome. ->Segway MAX G30 is a proven, rugged, and simple design that works and has enough speed (19mph) and power for daily commuting use. It just works and not much to worry about. They are $599 now. The G2 is the next generation of this and is probably pretty great as well. I’d get one of those two over anything else. They are like the Civics of scooters.
r/ElectricScooters • Which one for a first scooter? ->Segway Ninebot Max. Get the G30 or a refurb if you can't afford the highest version. These are excellent commuter scooters. Also look at NIU scooters too. If you can, try to save up a bit more for something in the $800-900 range. You won't be paying for gas, maintenance, insurance, or parking. So it's going to be a massive deal Gotrax is okay.
r/ElectricScooters • Best electric scooter for daily work commute? ->Lots of used segway g30's and g2's on the market since the g3 shipped this week. My advice, save an extra 100 and pick up one of those, or come up with a good sob story and try to sweet talk one for 200 lol
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->My first scooter was max g30 for 400. I test drove it and inspected it prior to purchase, and it still works perfectly after moderate usage and zero maintenance. Buying new is great, but if we're trying to extract max value per dollar, the used market will win in this price range. That is, of course, assuming you possess the bare minimum skill set to prevent yourself from being ripped off.
r/ElectricScooters • I’m 14 and have a budget of $200. What electric scooter should i buy? ->Bout 14 on Sport limited to 20mph Daily commute mostly flat with one steep climb at the end of the return trip. The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part.
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->Kind of a waste of a rating, ups and down votes on reddit isn't a reliable indicator of quality/availability, esp when only using amazon. Further, it really depends on the person riding, why it's being used, and the conditions people are riding in. Person riding - are they young/old, heavy/light, speed demons/cautious. Why? - commuter/recreation Conditions - rain/wet/snow/off-road/trail/roads/dirt/etc.. Different scooters are going to be used for different purposes. The kind of hills someone is riding on can also make a massive difference. So scooters are going to struggle with the easiest of inclines. For example - Ninebot g30 struggles with even the tiniest hills, mine drops quickly to 9mph and below on a minor incline. Whereas the g2 will cruise up it with no too much issue. If you're a commuter riding in the winter, how well does it handle rain? G30 has seemingly zero issues in the rain, even near downpour, others will likely short out. Some, battery compartment is solid against rain, but stem....not so much. Knowing these things are really what help people buy scooters, not some arbitrary reddit like/dislike
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed the 20 most recommended electric scooters on Reddit ->I use segway G30 because it’s easier to bring it on the CTA if i need to. No suspension tho and it doesn’t go faster than 18 mph (lime and divvy scooter maxes out at around 15 mph, so consider how you’ll feel when you fall off your scooter at higher rate of speed - in other words, your pain tolerance level). I have two helmets, ones without shield for my eyes and one with (for windy days, for rain, for bugs, etc).
r/AskChicago • I’m looking to buy an electric scooter. Any recommendations? What type of helmet is best? ->Without a doubt the g30 I will give a few reasons why I go for the g30. 1. Easily order spare parts 2. Many performance options. 3. Extremely high quality to price ratio 4. Actually the largest/most reliable e-scooter brand on the market. The Segway G30 can also go 45 kmph with custom SHFW, and the Segway G30 uses a peak power wattage of 1400W with SHFW. Have a nice day!
r/ElectricScooters • Which scooter is better? ->Segway Ninebot g30 is a good reliable scooter should be able to get for around that price. Any scooter you find that does 30+ mph at that price range will be a death trap. Start off getting really good and confident with a normal scooter at normal speeds before you start chasing high speed specs. At 20 on a scooter you can do some serious damage still and feels fast.
r/ElectricScooters • Scooters in winter compared to bikes ->My G30 does pretty well on hills
r/ElectricScooters • Just bought a Segway Ninebot E2 Pro, turns out that was the wrong choice ->Avoid gotrax like syphilis. Ninebot g30 is what you want.
r/ElectricScooters • Review on Gotrax XR Elite Max ->Those are barely serviceable, better get a used Ninebot G30
r/ElectricScooters • Opinions on maxshot scooter ->I paid 70€ for my G30, included with delivery, but that wasn't my first one. I owned a couple more and can't name a better scooter for its price and reliability
r/ElectricScooters • Opinions on maxshot scooter ->How do I do this? I have a g30 I use to commute but the range isn’t good enough. Is there a guide I can use to help me learn how to better make it fit my needs?
r/ElectricScooters • E-scooter Reviews - Entry Level Suspension ->Makes sense. Glad to see this list! Most people are just looking for a reliable daily commuter, g30 fits the bill. 9bot G2 for the same thing but with unreliable roads. I wonder how long it'll take the G3 to make it up this list?
r/ElectricScooters • I analyzed Reddit for the 20 most recommended electric scooters in the past year ->No Get a used Ninebot G30
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->Agree with all of this. 20 miles on my G30 is about an hour or a little more of riding, which is plenty on a scooter.
r/ElectricScooters • scooters with the best range that aren’t incredibly expensive ->Meh, usually bad reviews are people with limited scooter knowledge and ability. Plus the Chinese scooters take any battery drop in..... So you can build one like I did with my hacked ninebot g30 and then run at variable vintage and capacities. Currently using the g30 with m365 pro 2 brain and 500W motor. Overvolted to 50V with a 12v booster pack I can connect. Extended base with 3D printed ring and it fits a 12s10 battery and the m365 brain mounted inside. Dual after market suspension and at one point ran it dual motor. I'm about 215 lbs currently and the scooter is about 45 lbs. Easily get up to 30 mph with plenty of pull and minimal overheating (the board has been upgraded with larger capacitors just in case) and heatsinked to the chassis. Scooter used was a few hundred bucks, batteries about 2-300$ and other random parts and connectors about 50$. The time is all you need to create an absolute monster.... I rode at the beach the other day about 6 miles and it only dropped to 85 percent.... Smart bms tracks overall charge and individual cell bank charge. With a lil ingenuity he could have a real tank for cheap
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter under $1,900, speed+30mph, range+55miles, lightweight, reliable ? ->**Observational point:** lots here on Reddit that, 'Segway is the best, the very best, the mother-fucking best' talking points.' As others have pointed out, Segway 'influencers' and other narcs are here posting about Segway. Just an FYI. In advance, I like Segway, but its your Mom's scooter. Practical. Safe. Maintenance. Regulation. Dad doing all the work to keep this 1978 Chevy Monte Carlo on the road. **Segway Ninebot G30** **Summary:** More family friendly. Better for big and heavy riders (250 - 260 pounds). Like a minivan with decent offroad capability (the air tires are the key here). Bigger (deck is longer and wider than most competitive scooters). **Manufacturer software mandates:** can be / are a hassle -- regulation by the manufacturer. Air tires, but no shock absorbers and/or deck springs. **BUT!** be prepared for daily and monthly maintenance. Motor is in the back tire. Notable: **0. Durable (9/10**): good for hard, bump roads. Cinder paths (eg jogging paths); fresh cut grass (eg golf course fairways; some dirt roads that are packed. Cobble stones are A-OK (if bumpy; very doable). Also, easily to ride 2 people: 1 man; 1 woman work okay, provided you aren't overweight (eg not a chubby Georgia couple). an adult and a pre-puberty child works very well. **1. air tires:** checking these constantly. If you live an urban environment with rough roads (eg Boston; NYC) you may want air tires (softer ride), but you trade off with maintenance. Check daily. Buy a portable electric air pump (looks like a walkie talkie and costs \~$50 USD) **2. slow quickness:** Segways are not quick off the line. They are more like a big labrador retriever, and take some time to hit max speed. In city environments, it is in your best interest to plan well ahead. Maybe stick to the bike lane, if you're an anxious type. **3. braking:** the regenerative braking is ALWAYS coupled to analog braking (which is poor unless one keeps on top of maintenance; if you ride your brake, with regular commuting (5x a week), you will go through brakes every 3 months. Braking requires >30% more distance than Hiboy **4. controllers:** the electronic speed controller (ESC). Segway ESCs are famous for melting down and/or short-circuiting. Older Segways (pre 2019) were able to be hacked (ScooterHack app) and flash any new controller. New Segways require purchasing from Segway - China or a Segway approved repair shop (NYC has 2). Just a way of introducing that Segway - China has your Segway scooter in a big ol' database and you gotta deal with them if the ESC shits the bed. They track both the serial number (SN) on your scooter and ***match it*** to the ESC's SN. Its part of an anti-theft system that is ***regulated from China***. Ahem. The customer service is okay, but not fast. Be sure you have some tech game, and be patient. **5. tl; dr:** Segways -- and particularly Ninebots -- are reliable, if not quick (top speed is reached, but will take a bit), high maintenance scooters (to maintain daily performance) that require patience in the long term. **Be PREPARED TO DEAL WITH CHINA - BEIJING SEGWAY HQ.** We -- wife and I -- commute our 2 kids (10; 12 years) on our 2 Segways. My wife loves her. But, I am the maintenance donkey.
r/ElectricScooters • New to scooters - Hiboy? ->**Hiboy S2 Pro** **Summary:** Less software, less regulation by the manufacturer. Lower maintenance, but smaller deck. Good for 220-250 pounds (but tighten the horizontal deck / shock absorber springs). Very, very quick. Great regenerative breaking. Hard tires, harder ride. Lighter (about 5 pounds lighter at \~34 pounds and smaller frame - 4 inches shorter in deck length; -1.5 inches in deck with -- than Segway Ninebot). Motor is in the front tire. Much lighter compared to Segway (see point on the stem below under durable). Notable: **0. Durable (8/10):** We have had 2 HiBoy S2 Pros. We put >3,200 miles on the first and the second is at \~1,500 miles. With 1st one, I beat the heck outta. Ultimately, the stem cracked off (NB: 2022-2023 HiBoy S2 Pros. Some had a structural issue with the aluminum stem snapping off from the steel post. Ours did. Google it. Its a thing. Anyhow, HiBoy replaced it with a 2024 model. No issues thus far. **1. tires:** standard are solid tires. No punctures. Low maintenance. Hard riding. And slick in the rain. Requires greater awareness when riding. But, no punctures. Solid tires also wear out. But, normally its just the front tire (where the motor is), every spring. Good for city streets, but not cobbles. Cinder paths, and packed dirt roads, but not grass. Watch out for rainy days - go slow. **2. Quick:** 3x quicker than a comparable Segway. Responsive. Easier to maneuver. Like a jack rabbit that also can go the distance. **3. Braking: excellent.** Very, very, very excellent. Very, very responsive. Regenerative braking is the best. Stops very quickly; blows Segway away. Helpful in city environments with cars. On mine, I never use the analog brake. 4. controllers: no **issues.** No heavy regulation by the manfacturer. And, they aren't 'matched' to the scooter SN. **tl;dr:** I prefer the Highboys. My wife prefers the Segway. I like the Highboy quickness and responsiveness. (especially in NYC with cars, pedestrians, etc). But, smaller: harder to ride 2 people. My wife and I can do it, but I put a metal carrier over the back wheel. My sons are too short for the carrier. So, only the youngest (10 fits on the deck; the 12 year old aged out). Also: lower maintenance and no ad hoc 'surprises' like flat tires when one is commuting or its raining, or anything. AND: no manufacturer regulation like the Segways **(and the world the way it is now -- may be an issue down the road).**
r/ElectricScooters • New to scooters - Hiboy? ->I use a ninebot g30 for daily commute from parking to office, bought it 2nd hand and it's very easy to repair cz their site shows all the details and parts are easily available. Battery is solid and longest I have done is 48km on a full charge, and it still had some juice left. Also these things are stupid fast, they can reach 30kmh, which is much higher than bicycle, so if you are going to travel 4km everyday definitely get a good helmet bicycle helmets are not rated for that speed :)
r/dubai • Planning to buy an electric scooter – need suggestions ->I settled for a used G30 thanks for your help
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->I followed ur orders and got me a G30 🫡
r/ElectricScooters • Is this worth buying? (Isinwheel electric scooter S9 MAX) brand new in box. ->Segway g30 is pretty much the most durable thing out there apart from a 'repurpoused' rental scooter. Buy a $50 xiomi pump to keep the tires full and it will run for 5k with minimal maint. Larger/faster scooters arent really built better. Theyre faster and more powerful but easier to break
r/ElectricScooters • What are the MOST reliable E-scooters out there, with budget as less of a concern? ->Thats why I like my g30 so much. Its relatively small, light, and easy to carry. It can also fit a massive battery internally with a few mods
r/ElectricScooters • E-Scooters still as heavy and cumbersome as in 2020 ->As long as its not your sole mode of transportation anything should work. Now if it would be your daily driver and you don’t want to collect unemployment just yet you might consider something reliable like a segway g30 max.
r/ElectricScooters • Best Scooter for Daily Commute ->Most notable area that rusts are the motors. Segway max g30 isn't your everyday average scooter since it was designed for the brutal rental market. We have seen them submerged in water for who knows how long and they still work. Crazy college kiddos
r/ElectricScooters • Scooters in winter compared to bikes ->Anything from Segway/Ninebot. The have superior waterproofing and stability in wet conditions. Ideally G30/G2/G3 line, those are the most robust ones.
r/ElectricScooters • Recommendations for electric scooters with drizzle proof with good range ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
