Just to chip in, I also picked this up at this price. Upgraded from the G30LP. Could not justify the extra $600 for the Max G3 for my use case. The shocks are a giant improvement, hills are better (205lbs), range is what I need it to be, and if you were ok with the range from the Volpam you described you won't have an issue. Gets up to 35km/h, legal limit here is 30km/h. ahhh I actually spent $699 on it so thanks for this post as I'll go to request a price drop.
Yes, over 30kmh is gear territory. Illegal on the bike lanes anyways, so not what I need. The suspension upgrade for the g2 is very noticeable even though I understand there are much better ones out there. my knees are saved..and it takes a lot of the mental fatigue of looking for every skull rattler on the road away and saves it for the actual "flipper" risks like potholes. Very satisfied with the price, and if I did want to upgrade I would not lose much in a second hand sale.
Grab a Segway Max G2 for $599 and save some money! This is on sale right now I picked one up earlier price is really good and beats the US pricing https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/segway-ninebot-kickscooter-max-g2-electric-scooter-900w-motor-70km-range-35-4km-h-top-speed-dark-grey/17087947
Ya you can try custom firmware if your firmware is not up to date as it may block it. Check out "shfw" for custom firmware. I have a 60kmh dual motor scooter which handles any hills but prefer riding slower chill and not geared up with moto helmet and protective gear which is why I liked the idea of the G2 because it has suspension to save my knees but I can just throw on a regular helmet and ride
OP can get a Max G2 and be done with it. At least then they have a reliable model with better access to parts. The fender cracked on my G30 after 5+ years use so I bought a replacement from aliexpress for $16... Most of these no name brands you are not going to get parts even a year or 2 down the line.
Too expensive for that model IMO, its fine otherwise. In Canada I just bought a Ninebot max G2 for $599 which is $438 USD. Search around or wait for some sales and you can probably get a ninebot max G30 at that price at least if you are in the US.
For the G2 in Canada? It was best buys boxing day sale which is still active, 799 with additional 200 off applied in cart.
Segway Max G2 or F3 Pro if you want a newer looking model.
Ninebot Max G2 should work well, on sports mode will get you up some pretty decent hills. It's basically on that limit of size portability anything bigger would be hard to carry and bring on transit.
Ninebot Max G2
No I have one when it was 40% the D mode(one I use 25kmh) still felt the same. It will drop though probably after 25%, I have not drained under 40% yet.
It's basically a dual motor ninebot max with a bit less quality/durability(not as good water resistance/tubed tires) $419 is a pretty good price. Not gonna get anything else from a well known brand with that kinda torque for the money.
The Ninebot has better **proven** water resistance, they only certified the whole thing IPx5 but components them self are rated IP67.
As I understand the huge majority of recognition/recommendation of Xiaomi originates to this day from the M365 platform. Which unlike the late model Brightway (?) ones is not affected by that just because of timeframe for one thing, is a Seg/bot OEM product for another; and another notable maybe relevant thing is that the exit of the vendor Xiaomi itself from the US market *certainly* hasn't made the generalized xiaomioid/M365 derivative scooter any less of a presence in the US. As to Hiboy, I think I know what the deal is. Their xiaomioid frame is well known dangerous garbage, but they sell a lot of other stuff. They have clonebots that are not unfit for purpose and don't have a blemished record on here. Intermediate tire size scooters, ebikes, etc. The thing that seems the most off to me is that the Seg/bot G2 somehow got ahead of the G30. This was data from a limited timespan while the G2 *was* for sure the newer thing being hyped and the G30 wasn't, but I still question it. I don't think anyone would disagree that the G30 has a nearly sterling reputation. The G65/2 is ...A bit checkered to say the least like any of the Late Segway stuff. I do have to wonder how much real botting, astroturfing, freebies to say positive things online, or just regular zealous fanboyism, etc. there actually is behind the occasional allegation of "Segway shills/fanboys" existing. I don't think it's zero. I have been fouled or votespammed multiple times for pointing out G2 issues, or at one point P100S issues before popular opinion went formally south on those, that were/are just *facts*.

I’ve had the Segway G2 Max since October 2023. It has not needed any repairs or maintenance other than putting air in the tires.
It is a good scooter, but I don’t think it’s very good as a “first scooter” because of its power. I think the g30 or g2 would be a good first scooter, as it was the same for me
I find it’s deck extremely uncomfortable compared to the G2. Buy it at bestbuy try it then return it
Got 2x Ninebot Max G2s. The first one I got was so good I bought a second to ride with friends. I graduated from a Ninebot F30, which was/is a great entry model. Can't recommend Max G2s enough - be patient with sales - I got the second one during a 20% discount sale on Amazon.
I have the Segway MAX G2 also and love it. It’s a little heavy to carry so buy a good lock Other than filling up the tires a little - once a month - I’ve had no problems cruising through a major city from my parking spot Wish it did more than 22MPH but it’s okay…don’t want to break bones if I fall and anything faster would be sketchy 😂 Thinking about upgrading to a dual motor BEAST but looking for a deal
