I can tell you right now that the G2 is NOT good for hills. It slows a ton. I wouldn't do the F3 either. ZT3 will work, but portability takes a hit, and upgradability is lost for that discount. G3 is a beast. Very portable and sexy. You can add the extra battery when it's out, or even swap the battery for a GT3 battery and gain 50% more internally. (You can do the GT3 battery swap on the ZT3 as well.)

I just got the G3 and it's great. She's big, sturdy, and can handle potholes like a champ. That said, I'm a bigger guy so the acceleration can be a little slow and getting up big hills is a bit of a fight. I'm curious if I wouldn't enjoy something with 2 motors a bit more.

Depends on your budget and distance you travel. Ninebot max g30p is nice for lower cost no suspension. The newest Segway ninebot max G3 i would recommend if you have that budget. Water resistance rating is amazing. Speed and acceleration is good. Distance is decent. Dual suspension and disc brakes and the steering geometry is superior to many scooters on the market. Another I understand is the Segway ninebot zt3. I hear the zt3 acceleration is quite amazing. Yume is a solid company and their swift or Hawk model can take a look at them. You can find ninebot max g30p and g30lp used on marketplace or craigslist quite often if in a bigger town and they are reliable.

As a commuter myself the only advice I will give is to make sure the tires are those tubeless self-sealing type, I ride 10km to work 4 times a week and with my previous tube tires I'd get punctures all the time. The Max G3 has them and the reviews are pretty good so far.

G3 for sure but if you want a quality dual motor scooter, Nami Klima, roadrunner RS max or Inmotion Jet. The G3 is the best choice for a single motor scooter especially since you can add an extended battery later on.

I recently bought a Segway Ninebot Max G3. It’s supposed to be able to handle up to 30 degree slope, 50 mile range (in eco mode, max speed 10 mph) or up to 20+ mph (in sport mode but gets reduced range).

If your commute has hills - you are going to need a scooter with enough power to climb them. In my case I started with a 900w Segway and it would barely climb hills at walking speed, that was with me giving it some help it - which wasn't doing my back any good. . I moved up to a dual motor 2 x 1000watts and it is unstoppable and will maintain 20 - 30Kph on any climb. It also has 2 x disc brakes so stopping power is much better. But it can be a bit of beast to ride due to its power - so I dial back the power settings. Only negative of this scooter is its weight - 30+ Kg makes it hard to handle.

I ordered from Apollo 10 days ago and they have taken my funds and ghosted me so I recommend that you stay away from them. I got frustrated and went to BestBuy and purchased the Segway Max G3 and am happy with it so far. (new owner of 4 days) Fast charging and good distance for my weight (lets just say over 200lbs). I average 35 to 40km round trips and have some battery to spare.

Hey Same!! I take the train and then commute the rest on my scooter or sometimes will just ride the 11 miles from home to work. Definitely wanna see what you end up going with. I currently have the Segway max G3 I consider that portable and reliable, granted I’ve only been an owner of it for a little over a month. Im actually considering getting the GT3 Pro from them next, but that won’t be my portable commuter scooter, im going to use that for the days I wanna just ride directly from home to work. Good luck in your search!

The Max G3 is a total beast on hills if you can budget it. I’m 220lbs and ride with a full pack every day. I just saw a thread that someone on eBay is legit selling new G3s for $800. Check it out

Bout 14 on Sport limited to 20mph Daily commute mostly flat with one steep climb at the end of the return trip. The hill totally stops my G30 but the G3 maintains speed all the way up and loses 3mph on the last few yards at the highest steepest part.

I'd probably say Segway g3, for the money and quality is probably the best on the market. Granted, it depends on the needs of the commuter and rider because everyone is different. Range, speed, hills, suspension, etc.. will all be factors in your choice

The Segway E3 is a better choice. Having both the G3 and E3, I find the E3 offers the same experience for a fraction of the price. The E3 also folds up more compact than the F3. https://preview.redd.it/oy24zqjt75nf1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49406bf13a56505fcaf6a8d0566cb33e5040dcf0

Inmotion Climber is in your price range, and has relatively decent support. As another said, the Segway Max G3 is pretty good as well. [Decent](https://youtu.be/U284wt6aKzQ?si=79zQoG23TrOfifv-) scooters with decent rep that’ll do what you need for your commute. The former didn’t have suspension and is a tad bit slower, but has dual motors for zippiness. The latter has a single rear motor but it’s way stronger, and bigger tires with suspension and a lot of other goodies Me personally, I’m extra af so I have dual 1000w motors for my 6’5 225 frame. Don’t expect the fastest hill climbing ability, but they’ll get the job done.

Maybe you can find a lightly used Nami Klima. I’m 6’5 235 and it pulls. It fits you as well without any risers. But if you don’t need crazy power for hills, you can get away with a Segway Max G3.

Personally I’ve owned NIU and Segway scoots. Currently have the Max G3 and it is fantastic. Range can be a little better but the tech and ride quality are top tier. It has mechanical brakes instead of hydraulic but honestly they work great. For the price it’s a lot of scooter for the money. Their newest update unlocked a ton of power and fixed some early issues. Whatever you do don’t buy a cheap Amazon scooter with unrealistic claims. 😂

Stay away from the G2! The G2 has some quality issues with the charging port and build quality. The G3 is a beast and it's my new main scooter. ZT3 is good for outdoor, lose terrain and that but lacks the extra battery for example. F3 is okay, but only the charging input where the battery would go is trash in my eyes. So either ZT3 or G3. Both are great scooters.

I just upgraded to a Max G3, in Canada. Did quite a bit of research. Yes, the g3 range is not spectacular but it’s really fantastic in every other metric. My local region does not have an e-scooter shop where I can get service or support so the Segway support system was also a consideration.

I just want to know the real-world range I can expect on the Mantis King GT with my 140 lbs. Because we apply the common “advertised range ÷ 2” rule, we get about 28 miles. That’s not much better than many scooters under $1,000. The King GT costs twice as much, and while it has nice features, the range doesn’t seem impressive. I canceled my preorder for 899 dollars Seagway Max G3 because I found from first owners that even 25 miles is a stretch for this models.

It’s actually funny, but I had preorder for G3 Max but I canceled it as soon as I’ve learned that I’m unlikely going to get more than 25 miles on it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pretty decent scooter, but it primarily for people who takes shorter trips.

One of the best commuter scooters on the market, on the condition that you don't require long range. Competent build, good battery lifespan if treated properly, decent support. Speaking of the battery: LiIon batteries like partial cycles a lot more than they like full cycles, so try to avoid discharging most of the way if possible. At the end of a ride wait ten minutes or so for the battery to rest, but then plug it in even if you've only consumed a fraction of the charge.

Funny you say, I have the G3 Max and the other half has the F3 Pro. Given that she used my G3 Max for a few months before getting her own F3 Pro, now she considers the F3 Pro to be lightweight and easier to manage when compared to my G3 Max. I suspect if she was used to a smaller scooter that she’d consider her F3 Pro to be too bulky and annoying to move about. I would stick with it. When it comes to lugging it around definitely recommend you fold it and use the handle as it makes it much easier to move about and roll on the wheel, kind of like a piece of luggage. Best of luck with it. It’s a fantastic piece of kit.

Bought a niu 200f but it had a faulty control box I think kept throwing brake code or motor phase code snd nothing was wrong just had to reset returned it was gonna get the same but want something more reliable and more than 8 to 10 miles and 7 hour charge time

Segway Max G3 is the best combination of weight, power (for hills), and suspension. Just keep in mind you can never lock it up outside (it _will_ be stolen), and the range will be ~25 miles for non-aggressive riding. It's not light at 54lbs, but the dual motor scooters people are mentioning are _much_ heavier. Trust me, you don't want that.

I recently sold my car and bought the Segway Max G3. So far I’m really liking this scooter. It’s foldable so it’s easy to bring inside and it charges up to full battery in about 3 hours. You can speed this up with a second adapter and there’s a new battery attachment coming out in July if you want even longer range than the 50 miles they advertise. It has 3 speeds. Eco goes about 10mph and the range is about 50 miles. I use this mode when I’m on a busy street or park. Drive goes about 16mph and reduces the range to about 35-40miles. This is the mode I use the most. Sport goes about 20mph (but you can go in the app and increase the speed to 28mph) this will reduce your range to about 30 miles. I use this mode when I have a long stretch of empty trail or streets. In my opinion 28mph is a little too fast lol. I don’t really want to risk falling going nearly 30 mph but it’s also pretty fun to go faster than some cars are going. Some other features are what you’d expect. It’s waterproof so getting caught in the rain or going through a puddle won’t brick the scooter. It has an option to lock the scooter via proximity to your phone or you could use a PIN (I use a PIN). It also has a dedicated loop so you can lock the scooter to a nearby bike rack

Just bought a Max G3 that is street legal with 20kph max speed to make sure insurance covers it in case it gets stolen. Then I used an app to change its region to US and unlocked it to 35-40 kph. So on paper it should be covered by insurance. They can't know if it's unlocked I guess.

The power on hills is nowhere near what Segway/ninebot claim. I have a couple short hills on my commute that are well under 18% (more like 10%) and the E3 pro will bog down to a complete stop at my 230lb rider weight. Going to try the Max G3 in hopes of not struggling up the hills.

Yes get an Apollo, right up there as one of the best brands. I was so happy with first Apollo City I bought another City 18 months later now I have two. Dual motor more than fast enough and goes up every hill I have tackled. Just Compare specs with others you may be considering. The regen brake lever is the best in the business, I rarely use the normal brakes, they are just for emergency stopping. I like the Segway Max G3 but not as good as the Apollo City on specs. Max G3 battery too small, only single motor, has disk brakes but they need pads to often and disks can warp, I prefer the drums on the city, will never need to change the pads while still own them.

I live in San Francisco, so potholes and terrain is an issue, but I would suggest that you would get a scooter with at least 10 inch pneumatic tires, The one that you have a picture of has 8 inch solid wheels with plastic tires doesn’t have her any traction. I would suggest to invest a little more money on a nine bot max. They’re about $600-$800 and they’re very reliable.. they have one single hub motor and they go about 18 to 22 mph if want. Something faster that’s due a motor get a Dual Tron.
